About the author

Linda Chapman was born in Liverpool in 1969. She had many different jobs before becoming a full-time writer in 1999 including working as a theatre stage manager, a dog trainer, a bookseller, a nanny, a teacher and a research assistant. She has written over 300 books for children, some under her own name, others under different names and she often collaborates with other authors. She is currently writing books with Julie Sykes and they are co-authors on the NYT bestselling Unicorn Academy series as well as Mermaid Academy, Forever Homes and Pocket Unicorns. Linda lives in Leicestershire with her husband, three children, two horses and three dogs. She has written many different series including: My Secret Unicorn, Star Friends, Best Friends Bakery, Stardust, Skating School and, most recently, Magic Keepers and Moonlight Riders.

I feel as though this series is getting better by each book. I was very intrigued and couldn't put the book down. Lucy's powers are becoming stronger. Read the book to see what happens.


(When I was younger I only had the first book, and I read that over and over, I had only found out a few months ago that there were 7 more books to read)

Im deutschen heißt dieser Band Magische Ferien, der eigentlich nicht so gut passt, weil es um viel mehr dunkle Magie geht. Aber auch um viel mehr Magie. Den englischen Titel finde ich eher passender. Jetzt zum Buch. In diesem Band fand ich toll, dass Alexa und Lucy in eine andere Gegend gefahren sind und sich das Setting vom Wald zum Meer verwandelt hat. Mal mehr Abwechslung. Gab der ganzen Handlung noch eine Prise Magie dazu. Genauso wie mit der Umsetzung der dunklen Magie. Es gab auch hier wieder die Natur zu schützen und man lernte neue Tierarten kennen. Hatte das gar nicht mehr mit den Iltissen (eine andere Art von Ottern) auf dem Schirm. Jetzt fehlen mir nur noch zwei Bücher *sad*

Agora em janeiro de 2025 decidi reler este livro que pertence a uma coleção/série que me fez apaixonar pela leitura quando era pequena.
Agora pareceu-me uma história com uma escrita muito simples e com um enredo pouco desenvolvido (o que é normal porque é para um público mais jovem). Mesmo assim continuei a amar a magia presente neste livro (relacionada com as estações do ano, com as estrelas e com os elementos) e os valores que passa.
Aborda muito a entreajuda, o respeito pela natureza (plantas e animais), etc.

I read this multiple times when I was a kid. I just realised there are 8 books in the series and this is number 5... I don't know why the person who gave it to me offered me the 5th instead of the 1st but I still understood the story perfectly so I don't care. I wish I'd read the whole collection though.
