A generous 2. This was a “gift” from years ago as I am a bit of a Costner fan. Should have left it where it was.

This is a terribly written “biography” on Kevin Costner. It is so amateur to be laughable. While he has hundreds of quotes from other sources, there is no credits, notes or bibliography. No index either.

It is repetitive and he clearly forgets he has raised an issue a page before as it is introduced again in a different way or from a different source. How many times must he tell us Costner is a reluctant sex symbol and what pressure it puts on his marriage …

Anyway, an appalling effort - hopefully writing is a side hustle and not something he relies on.

Shallow and boring. I was beaten into closing the book after being convinced it had no retainable value. But that 's still 2 hours I'll never get back.

I have to give this 1 star because I couldn't finish it. There is nothing wrong with the subject matter, a biography of Kevin Costner. But the writers style leaves so much to be desired. He concentrates so much on Kevin being a reluctant sex symbol, on reviews (good and bad) of various movie roles, and Kevin's personal philosophy. I read 80% of the book, skimming in places where the author droned on incessantly boring me, up to the point I'd finally had enough. Makes me wonder if this is the author's first written work, because it's poorly written. If you're a fan of Kevin Costner, look for another biography other than this one.
