This book talks about how Katie Kazoo is in 3rd grade and the boys and girls separate into 2 and she does not know which side she should go on because her best friends are both a girl and a boy. She struggles between the both of them. This book is really interesting and it shows how one person can struggle between 2 people and there are times where you have to make a decision. I would recommend this to everyone.

In Girl's Don't Have Cooties Katie gets invited to Suzanne's slumber party which is for girls only. Jeremy invites Katie to go to the amusement park with him and ride the new roller coaster. Katie feels conflicted and admits that Suzanne is having a girls only party. The boys at school get upset and state that girls have cooties. The boys start a boys only club. Tensions are high in this 3rd grade class.

Katie then finds herself switching again, this time she ends up as Jeremy. She tries to smooth things over with the boys, only making it worse! How is Katie going to fix this mess?

This is a cute, fun series, nothing that I would call spectacular, but there tends to be a good lesson in each story as Katie finds herself seeing things from another perspective.

In this book, I didn't like how Jeremy said that girls have cooties because they don't!! I like how they have pretend cootie spray. There were lots of funny things like this in the book. In the end, they get along with the club and you'll have to read the book to see how it turns out.

I just randomly picked one of these to read because the kids love these books and I needed to know why. They are short, filled with voice, and altogether fun. I can easily recommend them to 2nd graders transitioning to chapter books.
