From waking up in the morning to getting ready for bed and kissing good night, the day is full of first accomplishments for a young brother and sister. These three year-olds can eat with a fork and spoon; put away their toys; and get dressed--all by themselves. Cheerful illustrations follow these energetic twins through a day of many important milestones.
The benchmarks celebrated in this book include ... *sleeping in a bed *eating with a fork and spoon *drinking from a cup *trying different foods *hanging up a coat *riding a tricycle *hugging good-bye *sharing *putting away toys *using the potty ... and so forth.
While sharing this in a library story time about going to school I asked the children "Do you ....?" rather than reading the text as statements. The children enthusiastically affirmed that "Yes!" they do (eat with a fork) all the skills.
Phrases to describe I'm 3! Look What I Can Do: engaging, simple text, multimedia illustrations. Another storytime hit! The 3+ year-olds present would exclaim "I can do that!" throughout the book, which is a great confidence builder for that age group, while the younger children were excited about seeing all of things they would be able to do one day. Great additional purchase.
great book too see if children are reaching milestones at the appropriate times. it help teach them some independence and shows them they are capable of doing things on their own.
Have kids write what they are allowed to do on their own.
As a new Mom this is one of those great books that helped so much esp. trying out different kinds of food. It helped my daughter enjoy more food at the dinner table. :)
Very cute book for toddlers. Very easy to read and understand for younger children. The pictures are fun and colorful. I liked how the author described what the children were able to do.
I read this to a group of preschool students. They enjoyed trying to do some of the actions in the book. It paired well with Eric Carle’s From Head to Toe.
