The author lived down the block from me and I knew him over my early years in Whitehorse, Yukon. I knew most of the characters mentioned in the first half of the book but not so much in the latter half when I moved to California. The book certainly "pulls no punches", and is definitely the author's single minded perspective on events. I agree with a lot of his views but not all. He was a loyal Conservative party member and long time MP from the Yukon in Canada and his book reflects that. He hated the first Trudeau PM who he thinks badly hurt Canada. That is a view I share but some of the later PMs didn't do much better, I'm afraid. Now Canada is stuck with Trudeau number 2. Heaven help them, but this one doesn't seem to have the intellect to do as much harm!
