Jim Rapp looks at nature, theology, politics and philosophy and sees things to celebrate with light-hearted poems, things to ponder with thoughtful poems, and things that call forth the prophet in him. "Second Crop", a collection of more that 100 poems, follows Jim's other books of poetry, "Perfect Imperfection" and " The Journey of Abraham and Sarah and Hagar." In his roles as pastor, public school teacher, union official, Bible teacher, church Board member, author, and drama producer, Jim has always championed the cause of the underdog, the poor, the displaced, the persecuted. Many of his poems fulfill a prophetic role he believes he is obligated to speaking out against practices and policies of our society that disadvantage the poor and privelege the powerful and wealthy.
