Excellent book on the history of bees and overview of beekeeping. Brought some new facts to the table I didn’t know. Great recipes in the back. Not really a beginner’s how to book. But still a joy to read.

Excellent book for historical information, general info about beekeeping, and it looks like there are a pile of fabulous recipes at the back... The only way to make it better would have been step-by-step photos with exact instructions re: caring for the bees, and more links to Canadian/American beekeeping associations, etc.

This is a fantastic reference book, but I doubt it'll be one many people read from cover to cover. That said, it is very interesting with a great deal of detail about bee keeping, honey, recipes, plants etc. but not necessarily the best book for a starter wanting to learn how to keep bees.
