Two and a half stars rounded up to three. I read this because I had enjoyed another book by this author. Zoey Kincaid is an archeologist and the daughter of Susan, who was a foreteller and could see things in the future. The problem with this book is that it couldn't decide what it wanted to be. A love story? A woman being stalked? A mystery? Way too much stuff going on that muddied up the plot. Read Raveled instead. It's a much better book.

Enjoyable and sometimes even exciting story with well-developed characters and just enough plot twists to keep you guessing most of the way. Would definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy mysteries and a bit of the paranormal; and the current (free) price makes it even better!

"Best Story In This Series"
What did you like best about this story?
This book had me completely fooled. All the twists and turns and false leads. Oh my!

What does Laura Jennings bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Each narrator I've listened to that has performed this series has been amazing. Each brought their unique perspective to the stories. This narrator caused a lot of weird vivid dreams where I felt like Alice jumping down the rabbit hole. I don't know that I've ever crawled this deeply in a book.

Any additional comments?
I sure look forward to anymore books this author may write. All of her books I could picture as major motion pictures they are this good. This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom.

I really enjoyed the creative concept of this book. The characters and the plot are quite interesting.

The writing, however, falls a bit short. It seemed like it needed a bit more editing to flesh out some areas and tailor back some. Also, Jake's character was very inconsistent. At times, Kyra/Zoey is also inconsistent. It made it difficult to believe in them.

There were times where I was questioning details (there was a claim about autism that seemed like it was out of place, as in it hadn't been named yet - for example).

Overall, good pacing, great idea, just needs a bit more editing for consistency and flow.

Most people I talk to who read mysteries, like to try to race the protagonist to the finish line (myself included). Every time I thought I had this one figured out, another piece would fall in to place, and I would have to rethink my hypothesis. By the time I finished it, I managed to figure it all out...just about the same time as events unfolded. A rare treat indeed!

I was waffling between a 3 and a 4 on this book since the first half seemed rather slow to me. But the plot was enticing and kept me reading, and I'm glad I did. The second half of this book picks up speed and starts adding some tension, twists, and secrets and I do recommend this book! I believe it will keep your interest especially if you are interested in the psychic as I am!

Second book I've enjoyed by this author

Almost put it down over the r word, but I bravely powered through. She tossed that word around awfully cavalierly, though, which bugged me. But the characters and story kept me interested so I'll be downloading another book of hers soon

Wonderful tale.....suspense galore, along with romance, family interactions, murder, and the best of writing leading to an unpredictable outcome. Looking forward to more of this author.

Good quick read. Not my favorite of Ms. McAneny's works. I thought had it figured out early, but it twisted nicely at the end. (-and I'm kinda disappointed that I didn't see it coming!) All in all, a good 'beach read'.

To me Foreteller was not especially suspenseful or thrilling. It was pretty predictable, but it was good as an escape read. I didn't have to work hard to figure anything out or keep up with the characters or story. I'll admit that I was surprised at the end when I learned who (else) wanted to kill Zoey and why. By then I could almost relate!

Zoey is completely annoying-- selfish and irresponsible about birth control even though her fiancé is adamant about not having children ever. I'm not so sure that women become wise and all knowing when they have children or become pregnant and probably men aren't driven insane when they can't have them or are forced into fatherhood.

How nice and convenient for Zoey that it seems every man she knows and meets wants to help and protect her (unless they want to kill her!! Yikes!!). It's especially helpful since one of them is a police officer who goes way past the usual protect and serve the public mode. Strangers don't usually take such an interest. Even on Law and Order, they aren't coming by to sit in the kitchen or pay for security services a victim might need. Perhaps he's another man who's in love with her!!

Something funny and silly: Near the end, Zoey goes alone to meet the murder deep in a wooded and secluded area because she's the ONLY ONE (eye roll) who can save another who's in danger. Cheez... She dresses in her running gear-- including shorts. She changes because of the foretelling. Good idea, Zoey. Even with the long pants, she's all scratched and bruised from going through the overgrowth and falling over roots. Even poison ivy is mentioned. You would think an archeologist would know how to dress for outdoor meetings. This is just an example to demonstrate that Zoey is just not as smart as she pretends and we want her to be.

By the end everything for Zoey is wrapped up in a happily ever after box. Thinking about that brings tears to my eyes. I'm being snarky. Something or someone frequently brings tears to the eyes in this story. Yes, you got it-- eye roll!

It's certainly not the worse book I've ever read. I like the idea and I think Ms. McAneny is a good writer. I'm sure many of my women friends would enjoy-- or even love Foreteller. I doubt I know even one man who would like it. I think I'd classify this one as chick lit. Perhaps that's why I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected. It would probably make a good Lifetime or Hallmark movie. I don't care for them either. Enough folks do, however, for them to have their own channels!

Zoey Kincaid is newly engaged to a newspaper reporter Jake. Zoey receives a letter telling her that her Mother (who has been dead for
all of Zoey's life)has left a key to a lockbox and has left something for Zoey to have but must retrieve it before she turns 29.

Zoey is not really Zoey (you will find out who she really is)She changed her name because of a man stalking her and has moved to another state.

Zoey is going to get the key, but in the meantime, she finds out that she pregnant. She's happy but Jake isn't. He doesn't want the baby.

Zoey's mother had the ability to tell the future and has saved several
peoples lives by letting them know. I really enjoyed this aspect of the book, because this interests me.

This is a fast moving book. And I don't think you will guess the ending. I usually do, but not in this one. This is the second book of have read of Anne McAneny and will not be the last.

intertwined--but who wants kyra/zoey dead...

there is some violence but not enough that I couldn't recommend this book to teens as well as adults...the plot twists and turns are the biggest draw for this story...zoey is such a likeable young woman, knows where she's going and who she wants to take with her...even being pregnant with her love's child, whom he doesn't want, can't stop zoey from traveling around to settle whether her mother's s foretelling becomes reality or just the rantings of a woman she hardly remembers... I was pleasantly surprised at the end...very well written book with enough mystery to keep my interest all the way to the surprise at the end...

Despite its strong dependence on paranormal elements, this turned out to be an entertaining listen. The author managed to weave a suspenseful story around
foretelling and reincarnation with a surprising twist at the end. The characters were developed well enough to bring at least a little realism to the story
and Laura Jennings gave voice to these characters with a more than satisfactory performance. I didn't think this was this author's best book, but it was
still very much a worthwhile listen.

NOTE: I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for this unbiased review.

A fascinating and exciting story with engaging characters. All the plot twists and turns just drag you into the story and won't let you go. It's amazing how some authors become one of your favorites just by reading one book. I enjoy reading mysteries and paranormal stories, I think Anne is a great writer, really enjoyed her writing style, the book was well edited, plot was interesting and believable, characters engaging; what's not to like?! I encourage you to give her books a try, I think you'll enjoy her style.

Anne McAneny is a very good writer, which is why I'm giving this book three stars. The plot revolves around the main character discovering a prediction about her future, and it just isn't my cup of tea. I would read other books by this author, because I have read one of her other books, "Raveled"' which I enjoyed very much. This book dragged a little at times, and then a lot was thrown in at the end, which made it kind of hard to follow. Seemed kind of rushed to me.

Very entertaining paranormal mystery, the ending took me by surprise. The only complaint I have with this book is: .

I listened to the Audible version of this book, and the narrator, Laura Jennings, was very good.

I received this audio free from AudiobookBlast for an honest review.

Not your usual suspect....

I don't usually go for the supernatural mixed with mystery... it usually ends up with a ton of romance thrown in , because the writer couldn't or wouldn't let go of some romantic fantasy about werewolves or vampires or some such nonsense....
This had none of that... just a decent story about a young woman finding the truth about herself and her family.... and the secrets that families keep....

I hate to leave a negative review, but I could not finish this book. The plot set-up and the main character's reaction to it were just too illogical for me to get past, so I gave up about a third of the way in. That being said, the writing was fantastic and I really wanted to like it (interesting plot idea, great writing, cool characters), so I'll probably leave it on my Kindle to revisit on a long flight at some point in the future. Maybe it will grow on me later.

A fantastic spellbinding tale The plot is rich with surprising twists and the characters are well-developed.
The heroine changes her name to Zoey, not for fun, but she wants to "lose" her college stalker. But we find this isn't her only problem. She discovers that her mother was a "foreteller" and there is the risk that her mother, from the grave, is foretelling Zoey's murder!
An intriguing plot with so much happening that the reader can't wait to discover how the book will end.

I knew halfway through I had a feeling what was going on and who was the "one" Zoey had to look out for.

Beautiful story and LOVE how it's all connected and no one is what they seem.

A great read, loved how it all played out and makes you wonder if knowing the future is a good thing or not.

Too much to keep up with.

Even though it is a fine plot I didn't like the fast changing scenario of people. I like to get involved with the people in any book I read but this was too much for me. McAneny is obviously totally in control of her gifted way of writing, but I like to take things a bit slower.
