Jenna Byrnes could use more cabinet space and more hours in a day. She’d fill the kitchen with gadgets her husband purchases off TV and let him cook for her to his heart’s content. She’d breeze through the days adding hours of sleep, and more time for writing the hot, erotic romance she loves to read.

Jenna thinks everyone deserves a happy ending, and loves to provide as many of those as possible to her gay, lesbian and hetero characters. Her favorite quote, from a pro-gay billboard, is “Be careful who you hate. It may be someone you love.”

Coming home with sexy thought about your wife and finding her in bed with someone else is the hardly the nightmare that it should have been for Mike Sparks. That it’s another woman that she was in bed with is however another matter and this one give’s Mike enough to think about when he decides to re-enter the dating world.

His first go at the same sex dating leave him a little disillusioned but not put off and he decide to take baby steps with his next find. His next find just happen to be Niko Bulajic and one look at this man and Mike knows all his good intention are up in the air.

SECOND TIME AROUND is one of those books that is more than the obvious. I would be lying if I said this book was not a great read. Ms. Hill has opening up the emotions of Mike in such a way that you can’t help but respect her ability to bring out the best and worst of her characters that allow the reader to make up their own mind about the situation at hand.

Mike is such a man’s man. with his love for football and his bread and butter expectation from a relationship. When he consciously makes the life altering change to who he wants as a partner you can only admire him all the more for that.

Niko Bulajic is a dream and fantasy all rolled into one and he knows a good thing when he meets Mike. Together they are hot; apart there is so much sexual tension that it literally burns the page. The sex scenes are creative and they make up for lost time every chance they get.

This would be a 2.5 stars. It was not my cup of tea. It seemed like there was very little emotional connection between any of the characters, even when the MC had supposedly decided not to just jump in the sack. The scene at the end with the women just confused me as to how it furthered the story, except to have a foursome. That being said, if you are looking for PWP there is some good smexin' in this book.

Mike is a tv sport reporter. He is 32 years old and pretty handsome. He is married since 10 years with Cindy and he thinks to be happy. True, he is often far from home for work, but he likes his work and so it's not a big problem. And when he goes home he has a pretty wife to wait for him... but unfortunately this last thing is not right, since Cindy is not waiting for him, instead he is cheating to him with Denise, her best friend, like Mike finds out one night when he is back home earlier than expected.

He probably would forgive Cindy, but she decides she needs something more and files for divorce. So Mike finds himself alone in a big house and after the first weeks of adjustment, he realizes that he doesn't like to be alone, but it also seems that he is no more attracted by women. Instead he begins to ogle ass' man. And since Mike seems to be a very realistic man, and he doesn't have problem with same sex relationship, he decides to give it a try. The first encounter is pretty bad, but Mike is a persistent man, and since when you fall from an horse, you need to mount immediately again, the second time around Mike tries with Niko, a croatian model. Well I think that everyone would want a second chance with a gorgeous man very well hung and sexy.

The only problem in the story is that Mike is not already sure that he is gay. He still has some doubts that this can be a passing thing. I for sure have no doubt, since Mike, when his wife told him that she is leaving, is more worried to miss their Bichon Frise than the woman (all right, I know it's a stereotype, but it's the author who used it, not me!).

All in all I like the idea: an apparently straight man who realizes that he is gay and he doesn't know how to starts his new life and is searching a "master" to lead him. And an almost switch in the story when Cinderfella newborn gay guy meets Prince Charming gourgeous gay model. The sex between them is pretty hot, and often, but I like Mike's naivetee and his eagerness to do more and soon and often.

SPOILER

What I don't like very much is the foursome (M/M/F/F) the author used to make Mike realize that he is for sure totally gay. All right, the resulting decision is a good one, but still I feel like Mike is bertraying a bit Niko, even if Niko agreed with that. But well, this is my problem, and probably other readers could appreciate that, overall for the right end it leads.

I'm not sure about my rating. I didn't like it, but it would be ok if you like PWP with a bunch of whiny adults acting like middle schoolers. Seriously, the jealousy and manipulation would be right at home with 12 year olds.
