Dinosaurs. Seriously, can the frantic world of Gantz get any more scary? How about a giant doughboy with crazy fangs and a strange outie bellybutton? Yeah, it's not just scary; it's a very strange world for Kei!. At least this time the Gantz crew have a new weapon! It's an awesome state-of-the-art uni-motorcycle thing! And one of the characters uses a massive space samurai sword. It's Gantz!
Each volume of Gantz comes shrink-wrapped and carries an 18+ content advisory.
Hiroya Oku (奥浩哉 Oku Hiroya, born September 16, 1967 in Fukuoka, Fukuoka) is a mangaka who is the creator of Gantz, Zero-One and HEN, all of which have been serialized in Young Jump. He has finished working on his most renowned manga, Gantz, which began in July 2000. His manga often contain explicit violence and gore, as well as sexual situations.
He won the second prize of the Youth Manga Awards in 1988, under the penname Yahiro Kuon.
He designed a character for Namco Bandai's Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 fighting game, Soulcalibur IV named Shura.
Tyrannosaurus Rex it is always a treat to see him anywhere really either its a movie or a manga or a comic. looks like kei is finally changing into the caring person that he is deep down, you could feel it that his hating everyone was just a facade. the weird machine is a futuristic motorcycle and i think it is a storage as well since it have all these weird boxes. now lets read and see how kei and izumi and the old man beat the humongous dinosaur..
This was slightly better than last volume but still Dinos are not my thing in this series.
So it's cool to do the whole cliche "if you put your mind to it you can do anything" mindset but really the way Kei was able to face off against a T-rex without any powers was a little insane. Anyway Kei is the center of attention here as he shows the group how to face off against these monsters. This time Kei decides to work as a group and soon he learns teamwork may be the key in winning in Gantz afterall.
Good: The action is crazy insane in this. It moves at a neckbreaking pace that has characters dying and fighting all the time. There's less bullshit naked fanservice and a lot more focus on plot and fighting which is a nice change of pace. Also the ending is exciting.
Bad: The story plot is pretty much all fighting so if looking for dialog it's not to be found here. Also the Dinos are mindless and not all that interesting. I want actual creatures that scare me.
Overall still the weakest arc in the series but least the fights were cool here. A 3 out of 5.
Truly and sincerely awful? Yes. Another quick and mindless rung up the ladder toward my reading goal? Also yes. Okay-ish enough that I’ll continue on? Exasperated yes. 😒
Synopsis: Gantz tells the story of a teenager named Kei Kurono, among others, who die but find themselves brought back in perfectly healthy bodies and forced to participate in a "game" where they must hunt down and kill aliens.
Review: I almost gave up on Gantz several times, but now that I've read it all the way to the end, I'm glad I stuck with it. The beginning is dragged down by repulsive and unlikable characters, a messily paced story, unnecessary sexualization and gratuitous violence without much substance. As it progresses, however, the character development becomes pretty incredible and the growing threat of the enemies feels truly well done. Once the real enemies are revealed, it's mind-blowing how the series had been secretly foreshadowing their arrival from the very beginning.
Although it takes a while, some really good characters are introduced later on in the series and they're the ones that made me want to read to the end. Some characters that were absolutely unbearable in the beginning became polar opposites of their original selves and even made me sympathize with them quite a bit. The protagonist Kei for example, I hated him with all my heart for the first third of the series, he became progressively more likable in the second third of the story and then he evolved into one of the most memorable, unlikely heroes I've ever seen in this storytelling medium throughout the final third. The last third of the series is unbelievably terrifying with some of the most gruesome and disgusting battle/survival scenes in the history of fiction. It's much more bearable and intense in the final third because this time the violence and horror is happening to people we actually care about instead of a bunch of unlikable nobodies.
The final third of the story is what made me feel so glad that I didn't give up on this series. It had me on the edge of my seat more times than I can recall. There are a ton of chapters but they're very short and full of action which makes the series a quick read despite having almost 400 chapters. So even though the first third of the story was kinda bad in my opinion, it doesn't last for long and the payoff that comes after it's over truly impressed me. It's a flawed, thrilling and horrifying action series that takes a while to kick off. When it finally kicks off, however, it kicks off extremely hard.
-¡Siento en ti esa fuerza para vivir! ¡Y parece ser muy fuerte! Sin importar los obstáculos ¡Los afrontas con todo tu ser! ¡Por eso creo que a tu lado sobreviviremos!
-¡No perderé ¡De ninguna manera perderé!
Well, it's great that the series now has dinosaurs and I gotta admit that the action is actually pretty fast-paced and exciting. It felt like kind of a waste not to do more with these aliens - just big dumb (and deadly) animals. There was a scene where it seemed like that was in-fighting among them, but that turned out to be pointless. Kurono at this point develops into your shounen manga hero - basically... he can do anything, as long as he gives himself a pep talk first. It makes for great scenes though, and is likely needed to establish Kurono as the de facto "greatest" among the newly assembled team, so read it with some suspension of disbelief.
There is a new mission in Gantz/13 by Hiroya Oku. The story is of people who have been killed go to a room where they are assigned missions to kill aliens. Upon killing the aliens, they continue on. In this, our main character Kei Kurono has been told by the black orb that he must kill enough to score a certain point total or he will not return for another mission and will be completely dead. This is the story of the mission. This is a terrific series of graphic novels.
This dinosaur arc is incredibly silly and dumb and so many more negative adjectives and I hate it deeply but I am still having fun especially with Kei really stepping it tf up the past few volumes. I would have given this a form two stars if not for that. His character development feels warranted because of the time we spent with him being a shithead weirdo. It’s super rewarding to see him grow. Enough with the dinosaurs, though. I want real horror! Pleek! Give me something scary!
There is non-stop action in this volume with our players fighting dinosours.
Our protagonist should get atleast 15 points to stay alive this time. He kills some aliens and he assumes that he got his 15 points.
But in the end, there is this one big dinosour (boss of that game) which should be slayed within time limit. Else, everyone loses the game and eventually all points will be lost. This volume ends at this scenario.

The fight goes on. Kurono teamed up with the old man to fight the dinosaur aliens while Izumi teamed up with the panda (😂). Kurono's character development is so good as he shown a quality as a leader. The other remaining members were rooting for him as leader and to save them.
Finalmente Kurono es reconocido como el líder del grupo con los celos de izumi. La lucha con los dinosaurios no me gustó tanto, pero se presenta dos personajes q serán importantes como reika y el viejo.
