The greatest threat to our planet's existence is climate change. The collapse of massive crops and fisheries, the extinction of hundreds of thousands of species, and the uninhabitability of entire communities are among the consequences of rising global temperatures if we do not reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced by burning fossil fuels. Climate change is already causing suffering and death, although these outcomes may still be avoidable. Its compounding effects are still being felt today, outside our windows, from raging wildfires and storms with a lot of power.

We can better prepare and protect all communities by having a better understanding of these impacts, as well as what is currently happening, what can be avoided, and what will occur in the future. This book seeks to reveal all of that.

I appreciate how concise and informative this book is. However, it could have benefitted from a second pair of eyes to catch some of the editing mistakes and a little artistic flair so that the information was presented more engagingly. Despite my critiques, this book packs a lot of information about a very serious topic in under 40 pages, and it's worth a read for that reason alone.
