The Billionaire's Obsession #15

Le milliardaire incognito ~ Hudson (L’obsession du milliardaire)

Rate this book

This is an amazing addition to the series! The story of Taylor and Hudson is beautifully told and like each time I finish a book by J.S. Scott, I do it with a smile on my face, totally satisfied that I was once again able to find all the elements that I love in my books, a deep and engaging storyline which flows with ease, endearing and well-fleshed out characters, a strong and passionate love story with a alpha possessive hero 100% devoted to his woman, a white-hot chemistry between the leads and a close-knit group of very loyal friends and family members as supporting characters.

I have listened to nearly every audiobook available by this author and Elizabeth Powers' narration has become familiar and comfortable because I know she will not disappoint me. She’s just amazing! This book has a dual narration which is my favorite and it’s a first by this author. Hearing Hudson's perspective through Brian Pallino's voice made the experience even more wonderful. Overall rating: 4.5 stars!

Billionaire Undercover was the fifteenth book in JS Scott’s Billionaire’s Obsession series. It was the first book of the Montgomery Brothers, who were introduced as Riley Montgomery’s brothers in Enamored, book three of Scott’s Accidental Billionaire series.

Hudson Montgomery was one of three brothers that owned Montgomery Mining. He was former Special Forces before coming home to help run the family business. He also secretly worked with a civilian black ops operation, Last Hope, that rescued hostages.

Taylor Delaney was a geologist and an intern at Montgomery Mining. She was captured by Lanian Rebels while on an exploration. The book opened with her still in captivity with the Last Hope team discussing their rescue attempt.

I loved both Taylor and Hudson. Although there were some graphic and disturbing parts, most of the issues were referred to in the past, so the present was focused on the friendship, relationship and healing. It had its sexy parts, but overall it was charming and sweet.

Scott also set the stage for the series through the remaining brothers. They are all alpha, gorgeous, genius smart and sexy. I love Jaxton already and he’s up next in Billionaire Unexpected.

This was another amazing, wonderful read by the unquestioned queen of Billionaire books - J. S. Scott. I've devoured this beautiful and touching story. It left me with a huge and happy smile on my face. Jan's books are food for my heart and soul and I will never ever stop reading them! Billionaire Undercover had it all - from an entertaining plot, to charming, lovable characters and great dialogue. I'm utterly besotted with the kind of Billionaires this exceptionally talented author writes. These guys are confident, overly protective and a little bit possesive Alphas with hearts of gold who would do everything for their families and the women they love and care about. Those are exactly the kind of swoony romance heroes I want to read about and sexy Hudson Montgomery was a prime example of them. I've adored him and Taylor together. They were a match made in heaven. The workaholic businessman who ran his empire with a firm hand and who thought that he isn't deserving of love and happiness and his intern who didn't have an easy childhood but was despite everything she went through a strong, smart and resilient woman who wanted to show him affection and kindness. I've thoroughly enjoyed their touching story and recommend it from the bottom of my heart. 5 shiny stars for this 2020 favorite!

Billionaire Undercover ~ Hudson is the 15th book in The Billionaire's Obsession series by J.S. Scott. Each story is stand-alone and I believe that you can read the books out of order, but I wouldn't recommend it. Just as the blurb describes, Taylor was kidnapped while she was at a geological exploration and Hudson in the one to save her. He also helps her in the days after the rescue and they form a bond, so when they return to the states they are still very close and for the rest of the book we see their developing romance and Taylor's journey towards her healing.

I had a great time reading the book and I would have rated it with 5 stars, but there was a little thing nagging me in my mind the whole time, which is the only thing I didn't feel like it was explained/explored enough. In my opinion, Taylor's therapist should have advised her to spend a couple of weeks away from Hudson or something because some part of their bond felt like it was forged when he rescued her and the trauma led them to not be able to separate. To explain it better, I felt like the beginning of their romance could be an example of a syndrome like Stockholms with the exception that you don't fall for your kidnapper, but for your rescuer.

The rest of the book was very good though and it was one of the best books I read recently. If not for the reason above, I would have nominated the book for one of my favorites this year. I would definitely recommend it!

J. S. Scott did it again! She made me fall head over heels in love with another sexy, protective and ott alpha billionaire - Hudson Montgomery. No one writes these guys better than Jan. I'm seriously obsessed with them!!! After reading so many books of hers she still manages to surprise me every single time. Her writing is beautiful and touches me in a way only a few authors are capable of. With Billionaire Undercover, she's delivered another highly addictive and entertaining masterpiece in the bestselling Billionaire's Obsession series!

When Hudson Montgomery and his brothers receive the disturbing news that a crew of geologists, who work for their Mining company, were taken hostage while working on a trip overseas, they don't hesitate to act. Being  members of Last Hope, a group of ex-military guys whose mission is to rescue those who the government either can't or won't retrieve, they  decide to take matters into their own hands and help their employees.

Taylor Delaney knows loss and hardship better than anyone else. But even she didn't think that her life would lead her on a geological exploration that might cost her her life. When a mysterious rescuer shows up just in time to save her, she didn't expect him to turn her world upside down and change it irrevocably. And most of all, she didn't expect him to be Hudson Montgomery, co-CEO of Montgomery Mining, her employer and sexy, irresistible billionaire who's determined to help her recover mentally and physically from the trauma of being a hostage.

Even though they both have hardly anything in common, they easily form a bond that soon turns from friendship to soul deep love. But can Taylor trust someone again after everything that happend to her? And will Hudson be able to convince her to take a chance on him?

I adored Hudson and Taylor with all my heart. He was the epitome of an protective, caring and possessive alpha hero. I loved how gentle and understanding he was with Taylor. He instinctively knew that he had to take things slowly with her! He's such a dreamboat and one of the best male characters J. S. Scott has ever written. Taylor was such a sweet, intelligent and compassionate person who deserved to find someone like Hudson who will always love and cherish her the way she deserves.

I highly recommend you to one-click this book asap and let J. S. Scott put you under her spell. If you haven't had the chance to read a story of hers before, then Billionaire Undercover is the right one to start with! I'm giving this gem 5 well deserved stars and putting it on my top favorite reads of 2020 shelf!

Another brilliant book from J.S Scott.
This was an intense and gripping from the very start. An emotional journey from tragedy to love with a few stops on the way.
The author never fails to give 100%.
Raw, steamy and moving. I can't wait for what comes next.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

J.S. Scott continues her Billionaire's Obsession series with one of the Montgomery brothers, eldest Hudson.  Hudson is not only part owner of the Montgomery Mining Company but also a member of Last Hope.  A group of ex-military whose mission is to rescue those who the government either can't or won't retrieve.  Hudson has played the part of financier lately but when the one needing rescuing is an intern geologist for Montgomery Mining, he steps up and does the mission with his brother.

Following Ms. Scott's recipe of billionaires that are down to earth and immediately likable, Hudson is the type of unassuming alpha character that is easy to swoon over.  He is rugged, handsome, smart, and caring on top of being ridiculously wealthy.   Taylor, Hudson's leading lady, is a woman for whom life has not been easy and when she gets her dream internship, it turns into a near death nightmare.  Kidnapped by rebels and treated horrendously, Taylor holds on just long enough for Hudson to arrive and snatch her from certain demise.  Taylor's strength, born from years of honing, truly shines as she heals, mentally and physically, and opens up to Hudson.

The story focuses on the romance aspect between Hudson and Taylor while still delving a bit into the rigors of surviving unimaginable torture and healing from the effects.  The pace is such that you will be deep within the story without realizing it and cameos from other Montgomery siblings rounds out the story nicely. I found Billionaire Undercover one of Ms. Scott's more heartfelt and emotion reads and highly suggest it to veteran Scott readers and newbies alike.

Totally loved this book. Tragedy turned into something wonderful. And who wouldn't want a man to see them, actually see them. Great book! Worst part is waiting for Jax's story.

When I started this book I did not know much about the story or even read the blurb, but reading many of this author’s books I knew I would be taken on an emotional journey. Hudson and Taylor’s story was definitely that and so much more. Taylor had endured so much as a child, so much loss, but with that and with the help of a kind and gentle man, she gained incredible strength. She embodied this strength and resiliency as a kidnapped survivor in her adult life. Her rescuer was none other than Hudson Montgomery, the billionaire co-CEO of Montgomery Mining, where she worked as an intern.

I absolutely loved Taylor and Hudson’s story. When Hudson and his brothers found out about the hostage situation with their employees, they jumped right into action to set up a rescue mission. Unfortunately they did not find out until over a week later so much damage was already done. But Hudson was determined to rescue and heal this woman he was instantly fascinated with just by her picture. And Taylor was just as fantastic with Hudson, she is so grateful for everything he had done for her but her feelings for him go beyond that. She sees the Hudson that no one even tries to see, he is more than the cranky, bossy, workaholic billionaire he portrays to everyone. I loved her so much for that. They gave each other exactly what they needed.

Billionaire Undercover is book 15 in this fantastic series, I can not wait for more.

As one of the owners of Montgomery Mining with his military background there is no one else Hudson trusts to rescue his kidnapped employees from rebel forces except for him. What he wasn’t prepared for was the abuse that they had already suffered or how from the moment that he saw Taylor all he wanted was to protect her and help her heal.

When Taylor accepted the opportunity to work for Hudson’s company all she saw was the incredible opportunity and not the danger. Her kidnappers have exposed her to deplorable conditions and all she has left is hope when Hudson comes to her rescue. She never expected to see him again let alone how supportive and hands on he would be when it comes to her recovery.

Hunter is so patient and caring when it comes to Taylor and he knows that she is his destiny while. Taylor’s strength and resilience shine through and she is one of the few people who truly sees Hudson for the man he is and not his reputation.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Taylor Delaney & we get Hudson Montgomery's story. Taylor is definitely a woman with a story. One that isn't pretty but has made her into the amazing woman she is today. The problem is even though she has a story that covers her past her future is not looking so hot either. See not only has she sat with someone she loves and respect and watched him die now she has been kidnapped while working at a job she always dreamed of. Hudson and his brothers had no clue the team they sent to Lanian to research another drill site would be kidnapped and only one would be released. When one of their team members comes to them and tells them all they know about the capture and holding of another team mate they know they have to act and act fast. Hudson never planned on this or the feeling he feels for just looking at Taylor's picture. Will these two get a HEA or will this be the straw that breaks everything for Taylor?

I have said it before and I will say it again J.S. is a must read author. Not only does she bring you a story you can't help but want to read. She gives you one that makes you think about not only yourself but others around you. This book is no different there are many issues that are brought up in this book that will have you looking at the world differently. There is so much I want to say about this book. However I don't want to ruin it for any other reader. I will say this book will have you taking something from it that will staying with you long after you finish the book. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Courage. Hope. Love. No matter how many times Scott focuses on these traits, the message that these words call to mind never gets old. Billionaire Undercover is life at it's most tragic and love at it's most compelling. Hudson and Taylor find strength in the unpredictability of circumstance. Neither is what they portray themselves to be. However, each may have found in each other the chance to have so much more. It seems like I've been waiting forever to solve the puzzle of Hudson Montgomery. Turned out to be well worth the wait.

I really loved this entire story line. Even with the trigger warnings this book did not trigger me at all. I loved that Hudson stepped up to the platter and took care of Taylor even if it was a bit of hero complex. It was a very good story and I cannot wait for the next book.

It was great to meet up with Hudson Montgomery who crossed our path in the last book of this series…and we learned early on why he was able to carry a gun. Hudson, a former SEAL and member of a covert team that extracts people in trouble finds himself on a mission to rescue Taylor Delaney, an intern that is working for his company Montgomery Mining…and it just takes seeing her photo to get him connected to her. Maybe the hardest part of the story is the physical abuse and sexual abuse that Taylor was dealt at the hands of the Lanian Rebels…and maybe the most interesting part was how she was able to move forward in a short period of time to a new relationship with Hudson. What were the things that most likely made her move forward: (1) She was a Tai Chi master and could block out the abuse when it was happening (2) She made a choice to not fight her abuser in order to save her friend from being abused (3) It sounded like she had a good therapists that she worked with and last but not least(4) she was rescued by a gentle giant named Hudson. Normally I would not expect someone to get over the abduction as quickly as Taylor. If you are looking for a story with little or no Angst…than this one is for you. The best part of Jan’s books are the intricate layered characters that she creates…and sometimes it is their personal stories that are the real story. In this book I would say that Hudson and Taylor understanding what lay below the surface of their personas and accepting all of the baggage that came with that was the real story. Oh…and my favorite moment was when Taylor beat Jax, Hudson’s brother, in chess Great read…moved quickly which I love.

Billionaire Undercover is the 15th book in The Billionaire's Obsession series. We have branched out from the Sinclair family to the Montgomery family. This book can be read as a standalone, though I highly recommend the series. This is both a suspense and romance book.

This book starts with a bang and ends up being a non stop page turner until the end. Hudson and Jax Montgomery co-run Montgomery Mining. They have a team of three people kidnapped by terrorists and held for ransom while in Lania for the mining company. It has been a week, and as former special ops, Hudson and Jax each bring something unique to their rescue plan. They know time isn't in their side and they need to strike and rescue very soon.

Taylor is a geologist working as an intern for Montgomery Mining when she is kidnapped. She has been beaten, locked in a dark box, deprived of food and water and even though she thinks her end is near, her spirit is not broken. When Hudson rescues her she thinks she is hallucinating. Her health is in bad shape and emotionally and mentally she has a lot to recover from. Hudson is determined to see this petite red headed beauty through her recovery and remains by her side. As they really get to know each other, and share difficult parts of their pasts, they bond. That grows into love and sizzling physical attraction. Will their new feelings survive the adjustment back to real life after all they have been through? Is Hudson really the guy Taylor has gotten to know and love or the public face she has heard so much about?

Taylor Delaney is in a horrible situation and needs to be rescued and the only man for the job is Billionaire Hudson Montgomery who also happens to be her boss.

This story hits the ground running and the reader is hooked. Our heroine has been kidnapped and the men who have her aren’t nice at all. She has almost given up when none other than her boss of all people rescues her. He takes her home to help her heal because he feels responsible as she was working for his company when she was taken. Sparks fly but there is a lot of pain and heartache that has to be addressed and worked through before anything can happen between the two of them.

J S Scott is the Queen of Billionaire romances! Her heroes are never perfect and are usually very bossy and possessive and the heroines are usually very strong and smart but with just enough venerability to bring out the good in these men. Hudson had plenty of women who wanted his money but never just him. Taylor is the one who sees and knows the real Hudson and Hudson is very good at figuring out just what Taylor needs. Although this happens after a bit of butting heads between the two. Billionaire Undercover is another great addition to this series of brothers, sisters and cousins who find their lovely happy ever after. I love the romance of this story, and the fact that the H and H compliment each other quite nicely. The secondary characters are always good for some fun and humor, which mixed very well into the story. I totally recommend this latest book by this author.

Intriguing, endearing, tantalising - the next must read book of the Billionaires Obsession series. **Warning spoilers ahead**
This has just become my new favourite book from the amazingly talented JS Scott. Hudson is the incredibly wealth and gorgeous co-CEO of Montgomery Mining, but also works as an undercover agent for a secret organisation, specialising in rescuing kidnap victims. When one of his own employees is kidnapped while on a company expedition he is the first to jump in on the rescue. Beautiful, unassuming Taylor is near death by the time her rescuers arrive. Having been beaten, sexually assaulted, and starved of food and water, she is in and out of consciousness and barely registers being rescued until she wakes on Hudson’s plane, halfway back to the States. What follows is a heart warming story of Taylor’s recovery and Hudson’s love, devotion and determination to see her through the traumatic events that have occurred.
I love the fact these two acknowledge their interest in each other early on. Albeit not to each other, but at least to themselves. They don’t spend half the book fighting the attraction, although it is three quarters of the way through before they act on it (but as usual, definitely worth the wait). It was brilliantly written, doesn’t back track over and over and has a good strong storyline that flows nicely and keeps the reader interested. Can’t wait for Jax’s story next!
I was given an ARC for this book but this review is based on a true reflection of my opinion having finished a great read

*Sigh*Taylor did not stand a chance once Hudson had set his eyes on her.

Taylor is an intern that works for Hudson and his brothers. When Taylor and other employees are kidnapped, Hudson sets out to bring her home. He is careful, caring, and patient with her. He knows as soon as he sets eyes on her that she is the one for him but steps carefully as Taylor has been through a traumatic experience. However, Taylor is stronger than even she realises and this is partly down to the way Hudson is around her. Taylor doesn't see Hudson's wealth or status when she looks at him. Instead she sees the incredible man that he is. His heart is genuine, generous and so loving. He is an alpha male with a very soft side and this soft side is shown plenty with Taylor.

Taylor doesn't want to rely on anyone - she hasn't relied on anyone and she doesn't intend on starting with Hudson. Her independent side sees her fighting Hudson every step of the way in a non-confrontational way.

I loved these two - the story started off with some action before settling into their developing relationship. I loved the fact that they had the time to get to know each other and fall in love without outside distractions. I fell in love with their story and them. Another awesome read from J.S. Scott.

This is probably my most favorite book so far from one of my favorite authors, J. S. Scott. Jan has written a story of one woman’s courage and strength under conditions no one wants to find themselves in and that Taylor made it out alive with the help from her employers, was something of a miracle. I loved how Hudson became her protector and was cheering them on, wanting Hudson to become more than her rescuer and boss. That Hudson was not such an “alpha male” to understand Taylor’s feelings by not having everything just handed to her, from gifts to her job, was refreshing.
Their story proved to me there is still good in this world and you can find love and romance.

Oh how I love Alpha Men & the Strong Woman who Gentle them! 💖💕💖

Hudson Montgomery is as alpha as they come. He's the oldest child, CEO of their mining conglomerate, and a billionaire! He and all his brothers went into the military when they were old enough, because their family life was not good. So when they had to leave military life to take over the company, they were ready in more ways than one. When employees were taken hostage , brothers Hudson and Jax decide to go in themselves for the rescue. Hudson read the file on Taylor and when he saw her picture, he was mesmerized by her green eyes and fire red color of her hair. He made sure he was the one who rescued her, carried her out of the forest, stayed with her on the plane, When they got back to the US, Hunter took Taylor home with him, so he could take care of her home because on the way home, she told him she didn't like being in hospitals. So after she was checked out fully, he took her home. He was very protective but Taylor, even after her terrible ordeal, was a strong woman too! Read this beautiful love story between Hudson and Taylor! You will love the push/pull they go through as they finally admit they love each other. I highly recommend this book! 💖💕💖

I have honestly yet to read a JS Scott book that I did not love, but all of the Sinclair’s are my favorites. Well Hudson Montgomery has just stolen a piece of my book boyfriend heart as well. He’s smart, determined, strong, brooding and just sexy as hell. Enter Taylor Delaney, fiery redhead intern kidnapped and in distress.

I loved how strong and determined Taylor was even though her ordeal was frightening and her life was dangling by a thread.

You can always count on a strong or determined heroine in a JS Scott book; and no good heroine would be complete without an alpha male. The chemistry was present from the beginning even though Taylor thought she might be hallucinating her rescue and rescuers, but Hudson stayed with her and took on the role of rescuer and protector.and eventually falling head over heels in love.

I highly recommend this book if you like steamy sex scenes, alpha heroes and strong heroines.

Billionaire Undercover: The Billionaire’s Obsession: Hudson by J.S Scott is a 5 star read. This is book 15 in the series.
Hudson Montgomery, co-ceo of Montgomery Mining has just gotten back from his cousins wedding to be told that some of his employees had been kidnapped over a week ago, one of them was released but there’s still one female who is being held for ransom, Hudson and his brother decide to go and rescue her putting their special forces training to good use. Once they rescue Taylor, Hudson sticks close to her during her recovery.
Taylor Delaney has been kidnapped during her time as an intern at Montgomery Mining, when she’s rescued she doesn’t expect that her rescuer is the billionaire Hudson Montgomery, while recovering she sees a side of Hudson that not many people see and she falls in love but is it real?
Hudson and Taylor were perfect together, I really enjoyed seeing their story unfold.
I’m a huge fan of J.S Scott and as soon as I get my hands on her books I read them without putting them down, I would highly recommend this book.

Taylor Delaney is kidnapped while Interning in a foreign country for Montomery Mining. She has pretty much accepted her fate of dying when she rescued by non other than the big bosses of Montomery Mining.

After Hudson Montgomery and his brother, Jax rescue Taylor he becomes her protector, her caretaker. He makes sure all her needs and taken care of including recovering in his own home.

Hudson is one seriously gorgeous billionaire that isn't used to someone actually seeing 'him' and not his money. Taylor is different than any other woman he has ever met. She constantly is astonishing him with her courage, resilience and sticking up for herself and what she believes is fair. Though sometimes he has a hard time accepting them.

The chemistry between these two is amazing. I love that they became friends first before acting on their feeling to become more.

I absolutely love Hudson and Taylor together. This was a very good book from beginning to end.

Who rescued who?

This author’s billionaires have it all!

Hudson was everything as he took a keen, personal interest in an intern for his company who lived through the unimaginable. Taylor was beyond grateful to her rescuer but gratitude was not what she felt for him. And not what he wanted from her…

This story conjured up all the emotions. From a bittersweet beginning, straight to a heart in your stomach, deadly rescue, there was no end to the ups and downs and feelings that careened all over the place. Taylor could have been a quiet, character, caught up in the horrible experience she just survived but instead she continued as she always did. Endured what life through at her, determined to be independent and earn her own way. Hudson admired and came to love her even more for her selfless attitude. Together, they could get through anything…

A great read!

This book is AMAZING!! J.S. Scott starts this book right away with a huge issue that leaves both the hero and heroine fighting for her life. Hudson has always been mysterious but the fact that he needs to be the one to rescue Taylor puzzles everyone, including himself. I love how Hudson is there for her and explains that he doesn't fully understand (how could he) but lets her know that she is safe and he will be there every step of the way.
I really identified with Taylor. She knows Hudson has everything he could ever need but wants to give back in some way. As soon as she said he could ask for three things, I KNEW what one of them way going to be but I loved the build-up to the moment.
Overall, this was an amazing book that I know I will turn to again and again. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
