Scars are inevitable, but that doesn’t mean they hurt any less.
They cut deep within the soul and bear their mark upon the wearer, reminding them of repressed memories, making it harder to move past the trauma. Some we wear for everyone to see, but some we hide. Sometimes you work through them, learning to live with the scars, but sometimes they eat away at you, making you crazy.
Follow the characters as they rebuild, fall in love, fight witches, compete to be queen, resist temptation, and fight for their lives. Will they learn how to live with their scars, or are they destined to collapse?
Scars is a multi-genre anthology written by twenty authors around the world, exploring internal and external scars. Our characters either learn how to cope with their scars or drown in them. From historical to contemporary fiction, to fantasy or romance, Scars has it all.
A good compilation of 20 short stories of different genres in which physical or emotional scars are the basis of the stories. I found it interesting that there were two stories that didn’t include the word ‘scar(s)’ where the authors clearly conveyed the impact of the emotional or physical scars that had been inflicted upon the characters. Each story is different and intriguing in its own way. There’s something for everyone in this anthology.
