Ten Principles for Biblical Living: Foundational Truths that Have Guided My Life and Ministry

Rate this book
Relationships are more important than fame or things. Nothing anyone can do to me can harm me; only my reaction will harm me. It is more blessed to give than to receive. Each person is a creation of God and is unique. Happiness is a by-product of faithfulness to God and not a goal. If I am careful to do the little things well, the big things will take care of themselves. Change is always possible; neither success nor failure is final. I must not take myself too seriously. Everyone and everything are my teachers; we are interdependent. Be all that you are wherever you are.

Great little book! Super easy to read, and while many of the principles he mentions are familiar to us, it is good from time to time to be reminded and refreshed by the simpler things of the faith.

The book is a little over a hundred pages long and is written in a format that makes each principle easy to grasp.

The book could easily be used in a group setting, such as a teen class or an adult class, and even New Believers could stand to gain practical truth and application from it.

It was neat reading a book by someone I know and have heard speak. Some of the comments and phrases I could hear in Dr Sisks voice. While there wasn't anything really earth-shattering that I hadn't heard before, these were definitely good reminders and the book was very biblically based. My husband and I enjoyed reading and discussing it together.

I give this book two stars not because the principles are wrong, because they (mostly) aren't. You will not be harmed reading this book and you may be helped. Instead, I give it two stars because the book is so very basic, is not very interesting, is filled with cliches, and too many examples are about the good things the author has done. I'm sure Mr. Sisk is a very nice man who has done much for God, but that does not mean this book should have been written, or -- if written -- written by him.
