ANYTHING 4 PROFIT Extreme poverty, high unemployment rates, drugs, rape, murder, robbery, and extortion. This is the real Dirty South. A place with despair so thick it suffocates the community like a dark cloud and blocks off all rays of hope. Imagine being born into a world where life has little meaning. For twin brother and sister Ant D and Meka, and their best friend, Mike these conditions are the norm of everyday existence. Like so many million Black youth living in third world conditions throughout America - the world s richest country - the trio became products of an environment designed to see them dead or in jail before they could legally buy a drink! Faced with these desolate conditions, the friends made a vow amongst themselves to do whatever it takes to escape the hopelessness that permeates their lives. Young and fearless with nothing to lose, Ant, Meka, and Mike embark on a ruthless, relentless road to riches. And all opposition is disposed of with no remorse. But for every action there is a reaction, and the aftermath could find you when you least expect it. Especially when you re willing to do...ANYTHING 4 PROFIT. Author, Justin Amen Floyd s debut novel is a fast paced tale guaranteed to take readers on a riveting rollercoaster ride! Get lost in these action-packed pages, and enjoy another Synergy Publications experience.

An Urban Gritty Tale was never told like this! From page one I wrapped myself around the gritty storyline of Ant D and Meka (twins) and what they had to do to survive the obstacles of life because of their mother's drug habit. Who knew a connection would form when they befriended a young man named Mike who faced the same struggles that poverty can bring when you're from the streets. The trio decides that they'll do anything to make sure not only will they survive BUT to come up on top no matter what. This book was filled with twists that will have you pausing for a moment but it won't take away from the excitement you will feel when you read this hot book from new comer Justin "Amen" Floyd.

For Every Action...

We’ve all run across them – an author that thinks his/her book is the best. Facebook, Twitter, wherever they can get your attention. Newcomer Justin ‘Amen’ Floyd is one such author. Confident in his work, he put “Anything 4 Profit” in my hands. He’s talked the talk, but could he walk the walk?

My answer is…yes. It’s not the greatest book I’ve ever read, but Floyd definitely has talent. With “Anything 4 Profit” he delivers a strong debut and what should be the start of a promising literary career.

“Anything 4 Profit” is the cautionary tale of three friends. Life has never been easy or a fairytale for twins Meka and Ant or their friend Mike, who they love like a brother. Willing to do anything for profit, the trio participate in a crime that blows back on them with harsh consequences.

Floyd’s writing is both descriptive and detailed. There are a few elements to this story that I find typical to most books in the street lit genre, but I have taken into consideration that while only published in 2010, it was written in 2006. It’s my hope that the author has grown past the clichés plaguing the genre.

What I wish the author had done, however, was end the book. The story did not come full circle, at least not for all the main characters, leaving the possibility for a sequel. At less than 200 pages, the author could have delivered one complete, powerful story. Instead, like SO many, Floyd has joined the long line of authors tossing out sequels, forcing readers to wait for a conclusion.

Also, while there are not glaring errors, the editing does need to be tightened up.

All in all, “Anything 4 Profit” is an enjoyable read that I can recommend to others.

From the very first page I was unable to stop reading this book! In fact i read it all the way through in just one sitting! The character development had me wondering what these crazy individuals the author created would do next! Equally impressive was the plot which kept me on the edge of my seat with suspense and wondering what would happen next. I must admit the details in this novel make you feel as if you are right there with Ant D, Mike, and Meka! And not to give the ending away but it was definitely a surprise. This book is a must read for anyone who enjoys good literature. Looking for more work from this new author

Rightfully titled Anything 4 Profit Justin takes us through life events in an environment where you get it how you live. From the very first page all the way to the end, we were taken on a ride in which we were able to take a glimpse into the characters lives as they did pretty much anything just to gain a profit complete with a real message and serious undertones. Well done sir.

Harsh Realities

Any time you have an impoverished community, you're likely to have an infestation of drugs, and murder. Sadly, this violence is so widespread it appears to be overlooked by the law. And with each generation, the effects of this devastation get more and more out of control. In Greenville, South Carolina, the situation isn't much different from any other hood in America.

Readers are introduced to twins, Ant D. and Meka, who've had a rough life due to their mother’s drug habit. Their bond is closer than most siblings. When they meet Mike, a foster kid, he's immediately adopted into their family and the three vow to get all they can by any means possible. No job is off limits because with them, it's anything 4 a profit.

This is my second time reading Floyd. It's obvious that he has talent, as he vividly paints a picture allowing readers to feel as though they’ve been transported to South Carolina. My main issue is I felt as if Floyd teetered on the expected path instead of taking his audience to the next level. "Anything 4 Profit" is a solid story. There are issues in editing; otherwise, readers are hooked from the start.

" Anything 4 Profit" By Justin "Amen" Floyd was a real page turner. It started off with a fast paced and ended on the same note. It's the story of three friends, brought together by poverty and a desire to rise to the top. Twins Meka and Ant-D suffered most of their childhood with a drug addicted mother while Mike was abandoned as a baby. The trio stick together and become ruthless in the streets, proving that they are willing to do 'Anything for Profit' but what happens when their ruthlessness comes back to haunt them?
Throughout this story, I actually felt as if I knew the characters. They were described very vividly.I loved the flashback scenes and how we got a chance to look more closely into each character's personal struggles. "Anything 4 Profit" is full of twists and turns that you will not see coming! The ending left me shocked completely.Justin " Amen" Floyd definitely did his thing with this one and I can not wait for part 2. 5 stars!

Excellent debut, Justin didn't sugar coat anything he told it raw and uncut. The three young adults that were featured in this grimy tale didn't give a dayum about anything but the PROFIT and living in the now. Fortunately for one them LOVE was found for a hot minute. What I like most about the read was how he wasn't real graphic about a particular situation that occured, he left the mind to imagine those images. Kudos for a complete novel.

I enjoyed this book, it is true to street life. I read it in two sittings as I could not put the book down. A lot of twists & turns, you never knew what was going to happen next. I was partly surprised by the ending as I was not expecting it to end the way it did. I will definitely read another book by Justin Amen Floyd. He did a good job telling the story of his debut novel.

I thought over all this was a good book. I thought it was crazy how they used Meka to find out where people hid there money. I kind of figured it would end bad. This book really kept me on edge because you never knew what was going to happen next.

This book started out pretty well but then it began to rush through events. This has the tone of Catherine Mcgill but this is DEFINITELY NOT HER WORK...UNFORTUNATELY Mr. Floyd has so way to go ..he has to slow down and let the story develop....overall it was ok...

It was disgusting the way ant-d and Meka was sleeping with each other. I guess they were the only ones each other had. It is also messed up the way Mike got kilt at the end. All in all it was a good book and I think that there should be a part two to it.

I would have rated this slightly higher but the way the book abruptly ended left an unfinished story. I understand the point of sequels but a good story should be written to stand on its own.
