DNF at 20%. The writing is immature and the author’s choices are questionable. Let me give you some quotes.

After her fiancé cheats on her, she says: “He is the ‘only guy for me.’ What other hottie would want a chubby like me for a wife? None.”

Great. A doormat heroine with terrible self-image. She doesn’t break up with him.

—-

The hero smells his fated mate and just wants to find a one night stand. Manwhore.

Too much unnecessary description. And don’t like the main characters. The premise had promise but the execution sucks.

Charmaine Louise Shelton has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Wern and Tag. Tag is at an event when he is hit by the smell of his mate. He goes looking for her but can't find her. Wern has just found out her fiance Jonathan is cheating on her and she doesn't know what to do. She talks to her friend Maya and is told about a job as an administrative assistant at Larson Enterprises. Maya knows someone there and gets her an interview. Wern gets the job and on her first-day things do not go so well. She gets stuck in the elevator with Tag. She has a panic attack since she doesn't like to be in closed-in spaces. There is an attraction between them but Tag can't do anything about it since there is a non-fraternization rule. Tag has a talk with Wern and lets her know what is going on. He comes up with a way for them to be together. Things happen when she tells her uncle that she is not going to marry Jonathan. He kicks her out of her condo and cuts her off. When Tag hears about this, he takes her to one of the apartments the company keeps and tells her that she can stay there as long as she needs to. Wern and Tag become a couple. They are at an event and Wern's aunt and uncle are there along with Jonathan. Her uncle is giving her a hard time but Tag gets upset when Jonathan grabs her and pulls her toward him. Tag sees this and he goes after Jonathan. Tag starts to shift into his wolf but is stopped since he is around humans. Wern sees something different with Tag but she is pulled away. Tag is taken to his home and Jagger has a talk with him. Jagger tells him that he needs to tell Wern about himself. When Tag talks with Wern, she is shocked by what he is telling her. After their talk, she tells him that she needs some time to herself and that she is going back home. He tells her that she can't. He makes a deal with her and she agrees to stay. She is not sure what to do about her being his mate and him turning her. Tag makes arrangements for her to talk to the three mates that were turned. After she talks with them so makes up her mind to stay with Tag.
Will things work out between Wern and Tag?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Tag Dahl is the Beta of the Miami Wolf Pack and COO of Larson Enterprises, aka he’s Mr. Grumpy with everyone. A couple of his friends have found their fated mate and are living and loving life. He’s tired of woman trying to trap him into marriage and when they get to close its bye bye. Hi friends encourage him to hire a personal assistant, on to take care of his calendar, go to galas and not become interested in him…just a job no involvement. Or so it seems until he gets a whiff of cinnamon apple carmel scent of his fated mate, not another wolf but Wren Byrd, a human, his new assistant. I love how his soul and his inner wolf calls out to her when he close, he purrs, but she’s engaged to marry another. Wren has her own problems, she’s always been curvy girl, not too many boyfriends so when her uncle introduces her to Johnathon. He pays attention to her, she knows this is her one chance at happiness and she becomes his fiancé, he’s the man her uncle has chosen to take over the business when he retires, instead of Wren. It’s entertaining to see Tag and Wren together, the chemistry is off the charts, if only her old boyfriend would give up. They fight through the obstacles thrown in their path. Can he convince her of his love and devotion when disaster happens, and the real animal comes out? What happens when she discovers he’s a wolf shifter will she stand by her man or run away? Will Wren love Tag enough to take the final step of commitment as a human? I received a free copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.

If you like the phrase "hot hunk smile," "hot hunk fiance," "hot hunk body" and all things "hot hunk" then I think this is the book for you. Apparently, in this world, all guys are HAWT hot and all women are perfect with the exception of the h. I also couldn't quite comprehend the world building. Or how the H sees the h for the first time in an elevator and lets out a howl and yet, from the h's point of view she seems to not notice this odd behavior which made me wonder if he howled in a pitch only dogs can hear? Also, she seems to know nothing about alpha wolves (maybe humans in this world don't?). Maybe it all gets cleared up later. I didn't get very far TBH. But it's like music. They say that you have to catch the listener's ear within the first few seconds. I think this is true for books too which is unfortunate because I have hung in there in the past and sometimes am pleasantly surprised.

I guess I'm just saying this book wasn't for me but if you want something that seems light and breezy with insta-lust and wish fulfillment then this might work for you.

Wren has discovered her fiance is cheating on her. After dumping him her uncle cuts her off completely leaving her homeless and broke. Her best friend tells her about a job going with Tag Dahl as a social assistant. When Tag sees her he knows she is his fated mate but she is human and will need to transition. A well written addition to the Billionaire Wolves series. I love the connection between Wren and Tag and watching them navigate the mate bond with the help of Tag's friends and the rest of the pack. I look forward to the next in the series.

Tag is the hyper-focused on work and has no time for relationships. Until… he meets his fated mate, who is engaged.
Wren is living a life she thinks she should live. The only person encourages her to be true to herself is her best friend.
She feels like she should carry on until she finds her fiancé cheating on her.
She applied for a new job and meets Tag, her boss, she can’t get him out of her mind and in the end, neither can stay away from each other.
This is a good, hot and steamy romance where true love wins.
Highly recommended.

I love how Tag brings Wren out of her shell & gets her to believe in herself.

Definitely worth 5 stars. Paranormal, billionaire, erotic, fated mates, wolf shifters, Spicy. I absolutely loved Tag & Wren story. I don't want to spoil the story so all I will say is if you love paranormal romance that involves a possessive male wolf shifter & a curvy, strong heroine then I highly recommend giving this book a read.
It's a great addition to a fantastic series & I can't wait for the next book.

Another amazing story and a great addition to the series. Tag and Wren's tale pulls you in from the start and was easy to get lost in the pages. Tag scents his mate at an event but can't find her, but who would have guessed that she would walk into his life at work.

This story takes you on a ride of twist and turns as Wren is determined to find her Independance away from her aunt and Uncle, her attraction to Tag and then finds out about him.

My 1st PNR book…

I want to start off saying I never ever ever thought I would read any type of paranormal book. Shapeshifters, witches, vampires ect are not ever anything I thought I’d be into. I mean the only thing close that I ever read was the Twilight series and let’s be honest, that was its own genre!

I didn’t think I could allow myself to get into the books as it’s so far fetched but I pressed on and I will say I’m not even mad. This book is definitely fantasy but no more than the billionaire alpha love stories I consume! I think this was the perfect introduction for me into the PNR book world. It wasn’t very complicated and it was an easy quick read. My only complaint was I felt the ending left off with me wanting to know more about the life they have in the future and definitely more about the triplets!

BBW gets her wolf

I loved the book. Although the story of the heavyset girl being degraded for her weight isn’t a new storyline, the author made it interesting enough to keep me entertained. My one critique is with how much of a crybaby Wren was throughout. I would have liked to see her be a little stronger. There are definitely some steamy scenes, so keep some water on hand to put out the fire.

The blurb for this book sounded like a fun shifter romance - curvy human girl is being treated like crap by her fiance, meets a strong wolf who is obsessed with her. I'm in. Unfortunately, I should have paid closer attention to other aspects of the blurb. It is riddled with grammatical errors, and sentences don't entirely make sense on the first read. Which is EXACTLY what this book is like. Ugh, what a miserable slog. I found myself reading paragraphs over and over, trying to understand what the writer was saying. Why she leapt from one thought to another, as though an obvious conclusion was drawn, when really the two thoughts seemed totally unrelated. Even little things had me scratching my head. For instance, she described the guys hanging out in the MMC's office, lounging in their chairs with their feet up on the coffee table and the armrests. On the armrests? Their feet were on the armrests?? At best I could conclude, she meant their legs were slung over the armrests of their chairs. But it was things like that - minor things that had me constantly going back to re-read in puzzlement. Not just the occasional, no big deal, writer's inner voice just isn't synced up with mine. It was every page, multiple times a page. Constant confusion. Super strange, and just not a pleasure to read.

Also, the writing is very on the nose. Quote "I shake my head as I loosen my silk tie and shrug out of my bespoke suit jacket. Oh yeah, we're all billionaires, and they're dressed in similar high-end apparel. Young, sexy AF, and wealthy beyond our wildest dreams." Followed by specific cars and designer brands etc. Over and over. Look, if I wanted to read Wattpad stories....

As for the story - your standard sexual attraction as a substitute for real emotions. Again, can be fine. I am perfectly happy to ignore a lack of real depth in a relationship when it comes with some smutty mcsmuts alot. But given the FMC's lack of spine in her first relationship, her immediately falling into this new relationship (where boss sets her up in an apartment for their sexing within the day) just feels like the exact same spinelessness. She's just happy to jump in with ANY guy who shows her attention. Thankfully this guy is a LOT nicer than the last. But also - cringe. The whole thing is a mess.

I gave up and DNF at 50%. Usually I hate to DNF, and I will just skim the rest of the story to find out how it ends. But this one was so emotionless and predictable and, honestly, lame. It didn't feel necessary to keep going to know the end.

Tag is a wolf shifter and the beta of his pack. His pack live in Miami and have their own business. Tag has taken it on himself to make sure the business is a success. He is demanding of his employees and is even considered a bosshole. Even though a couple of his friends have found their mates, he has no time for a mate. He is even planning on hiring a human woman to be his social assistant to accompany him to social events who won't expect any relationship. That all changes when he gets a whiff of his destined mates scent at a social event. He wasn't able to find the she-wolf meant to be his and he had to go away on a business trip for a few weeks. When he returns, he finds himself stuck in an elevator with his fated mate. He has some big problems like his mate is a human woman who is engaged to another man and she is his new social assistant. Now Tag has to decide whether to listen to his wolf and woo his mate or refuse to mate with her so she might not die in the transition to shifter.

Wren lost her parents at the age of nine and moved in with her Uncle and Aunt. Her uncle was always blaming her father when things went wrong with the company and he believes as a female she is incapable of running the family business. Her aunt verbally abused her because of her weight and locked her in a closet to punish her. Now she has grown up, her uncle expects her to marry a man who can take over the company. Then one of the employees, Jonathan asks her out. She likes that he is very hot and seems to be interested in her. She says yes when he asks her to marry him. Then one day she stops by to surprise him with his favorite dinner and catches him with his neighbor. She tells him the engagement is off but he refuses to listen. Wren knows her uncle will be upset that the marriage is off so she gets a job as a social assistant so she can be more independant. On her first day she finds herself stuck in the elevator with her boss. The dark enclosed place has her panicking but Tag holds her close making her feel safe. Now Wren has to deal with non-professional feelings for her boss.

The couple: Tag and Wren

Romance trope: shifter
Series: Billionaire Wolves
Length: 260 pages

Plot: Tag needs someone to help with his social obligations, so his company hires Wren. She can coordinate his social life and go with him to events. That will organize him and keep all the grasping women away from him. But when he meets Wren, he realizes that she's his mate- and a human. He can't mate a human, can he? But he also can't stay away from her.

Commentary: So this one was a bit new adultish for me. I'm not sure how old Tag was - in his 30s maybe? But the story states that Wren was 25, and I think she was a young 25. There was so much giggling and squealing in this story. The girls were always laughing and dancing around like they were much younger (I don't begrudge their happiness, it's just that it added up to a weird picture of a character). Also, I'm not a fan of name-dropping with respect to brands. All the talk of the brands of clothes and cars was just to highlight the fact that Tag was a super hot, super rich billionaire wolf shifter, and it didn't need to continually be emphasized.

I will say that I found the ending where her aunt and uncle were all "of course we've always loved you, I'm sorry we didn't show it" to be an absolute ret-con. There's no way. It's so much more likely that they were trying to steal the company and resented having to share it with her.

But once Tag did decide to claim Wren, he was devoted and did respect and care for Wren.

This is part of the Billionaire Wolves series each book can be read as a standalone, with a sexy shifter, and the girl who captures his animals heart. Tag sexy as all get out Beta to his alpha, COO of Larson and he is also know for his grumpy disposition but in his defense he has waited forever for his mate tired of women trying to get with him for every reason but love but his animal isn’t having it. So, encouraged by true friends who suggest he hire a personal assistant who can attend charity events or just any public events with him to keep all the other women at bay just a job or so he thinks until fate steps in changing both their paths. Wren sweet, curvy, engaged to a jerk (shh she hasn’t learned how much a jerk he really is) but she is up for an interview and the moment she walks in the office the air shift she doesn’t understand it but it is there and the instant attraction to her boss is a no, no of course. Wren has issues with self-esteem struggling with her curviness so not too many men find her curves attractive so the one man who sticks around long enough to pay attention she agrees to marry him although, when she thinks about it love isn’t what she feels for him but what other options until she meets her boss and suddenly she feels safe, wanted with him and he is also the man who her uncle decides to leave the company to even though she is competent to run it but the moment she finds him cheating everything is over for her. The attraction is intense and the magnetic pull can’t be ignored between them but what happens when she finds out he is more than just the man she want to be with, will she accept his wolf, can he convince her to accept them both, and can they find happiness together?.

Author Charmaine Louise Shelton continues her engaging series Billionaire Wolves with Tag’s story. Tag is dedicated and grumpy, holding the employees of a multibillion-dollar corporation accountable for their actions. His attention to the business leaves him little time for socialization or romance; subsequently, he decides to hire an assistant solely to handle all of those pesky social events and to act as a buffer between him and any woman determined to change his bachelor status. Tag has observed the ease in which his friends have adapted to mated life but does not think that he will ever find his one true love. While reluctantly at an event, he scents his fated mate but is unable to locate her. Imagine his surprise when a lovely human enters the elevator at his building, and he realizes that she is his mate! Wren Byrd is engaged to a philanderer and is not close to her remaining family. Taking a job will ensure her more independence from her family; unfortunately, her first day on the job starts in failure when she panics while stuck in the elevator with her new boss, the incredibly handsome Tag. How will the pair navigate the many obstacles in their path? Incredibly, each story in this series improves from the last one. Ms. Shelton is a wonderfully creative author and her stories are beautifully realized and a pure joy to read.

This was my first read from Charmaine Shelton and it is book 3 in this series. I didn't feel as though I missed anything by not reading the other books first, but I am sure I would have had a better understanding of some of the other characters if I did read their stories in order.

This book is written in dual pov. Tag Dahl is the pack beta and a demanding boss who is sick of women trying to tie him down. He gets the idea to hire a human woman as a social assistant because, as a wolf, the likelihood of his attraction toward her would not exist.

In steps Wren Byrd. She's been groomed for the socialite's life, but her confidence and self-esteem took a hit when she came to live with her relatives. It doesn't help that Jonathan, her fiance and her uncle's top choice to take the family company, is a cheating prick. She's trying to pull away from her horrible uncle and aunt so she can stand on her own two feet. Wren, encouraged by her best friend, applies for the social assistant position and gets more than she bargains for.

This was a quick entertaining read. I enjoyed Tag and Wren. Once they met, the heat and tension skyrocketed. I liked that Wren was thoughtful and not a character that just went along with everything; she asked questions and truly seemed to think things through. I felt parts of the story were rushed. There was something to Wren's talent that I felt should have been explored a little bit. I thought the situation with Wren's aunt and uncle needed a little more closure.

Overall, the book was a quick read that is not lacking in adult content (which wasn't cheesy!). I don't recall any cussing (thank you for that), but it doesn't lack in dirty talk. I didn't skim or skip any pages.

This book was a lazy day read for me. I will probably go back and read the other two books that precede this one.

He was called Mr Grumpy until he met her!

Tag Dahl was Beta to the Miami Wolf Pack and had not time for a fated mate or anyone to intrude in his life, he was happy with his life he had his best friends and their wives and committed to his job until she enters his life. She being Wren Bryd who he immediately recognised as his fated mate, he could hardly keep his hands to himself.

Wren Bryd wanted out of her current relationship and be more independent from her family so when she got the chance to work with Tag Dahl, she jumped at the chance. He was so hot and she couldn’t stop having dreams and fantasies about him.

She finally dumped her two timing fiancée and when her family found out, they threw her out of her apartment. When Tag found this out, he arranged a place for her to stay and to indulge in all his fantasies he had about her but with one problem. She didn’t know shifters existed and she was human.

A hot read, sure to please any shifter fan!

Come meet the Beta for the Billionaire Wolves of Miami.

Tag demands order and control in all aspects of his life. He finds himself needing someone to help arrange and accompany him to various events. So he hires a human names Wren who grew up as a socialite and is familiar with all the types of events that Tag needs handled

What will Tag do when his life is upended when he meets his terrified fated mate in an elevator that gets stuck. What will he do when he finds out she is not a she-wolf. how can he keep the pack secrets safe and also risk her life in order to have what he never expected to be an option?

Can he help with self proclaimed BBW overcome all her past has thrown at her while also bringing her into the chaos that is his life?

Note: if you have read book 1 there are descriptions of wolf lore and places that are exactly the same in every one of the books as if they copied and pasted the description from 1 book to the next. Each love story is different with it's own set of challenges.

This had a promising premise but it just kept missing the mark. One of my big issues with fated mates is authors relying on that entirely for connection and chemistry. Tag and Wren didn’t know each other at all, but they are immediately in love because of the mating bond? If it’s automatic like that, it doesn’t really feel like a love story. Other parts of the the plot felt incomplete or unresolved. The part with Wren’s aunt and uncle was inconsistent. The part with her ex fiancé was left hanging. The use of BBW seemed completely inappropriate for the context too. I think Wren’s confidence issues would have been better examined through the emotional abuse she endured rather than her perception of her size.

Overall, meh. It’s a fast read and I did finish it. But I honestly don’t recommend it.

- Meh, Already Forgot

Aggressive eye rolling
Why do all of the shifter books I pick up have such weird pacing issues? The smut scenes were too long (something I never thought I'd say) and out of place for the story. The romance was underdeveloped, it focused on the mating bond and attraction rather than the characters themselves. Wren was just grateful that a hot guy wanted her (both with her shitty fiancé and Tag) which is questionable plus size representation at best. The billionaire aspect felt like a lot of cringy name-dropping. It was all just embarrassing.

Smutty PNR

Wren and Tag’s was a very lighthearted, smutty, cliche kinda story that was easy to enjoy. It was fast paced, the drama was short lived, there was practically no conflict and the entire premise was them meeting, falling in love very quickly despite their short denials and self-doubts about the other and themselves. The smut scenes were very explicit and hot if a bit awkward sometimes with certain vocabulary choices. This wasn’t a deep, plot driven or super fleshed out story, but it was a fun read with a happy ending that left a smile on my face. I give this book 3.5 stars.

Written so well, with a great plotline and choice of wording.

Plus size assistant and billionaire beta

Tag and wrens story was sweet, and cute tag is the grumpy beta wolf not wanting a mate until he runs into his and meet wren when she's hired at his company as his social media assistant. They get stuck in an elevator and it's instant attractive there was some stuff that made me cringe like when wren was called female or when they said fated mates every other sentence. Over all 🌟🌟🌟/5 and spice was 🌶🌶/5

I really wanted to like it but the writing and the way she talks about her body. I’m just tied of the trope that if you’re plus size you have all these body issues. everyone has something about themselves they don’t like and making it always about the body is annoying. I wouldn’t recommend it al all . i kept reading hoping it would get better but it gave me a headache
