The sizzling author of Impulsive takes paranormal erotica one step further.

Lily has always kept her magick hidden, even in a town like Serene, surrounded by others just like her. She fears exposing even a thread of her power, still haunted as she is by what she witnessed a century ago--the annihilation of her lineage, hunted, and burned at the stake. Hidden away in secret, she was the sole survivor.

When Lily is followed by strangers Jaret and Toby Darkland, she recognizes them as empaths--empowered with the ability to read minds. Only when she slips into their thoughts with her own powers does Lily realize they're the ones responsible for the destruction of her bloodline. But what do they want with her? And why are her dangerous desires toward the handsome cousins growing more uncontrollable with each dark day?

The Eternal Pleasures series by Cathryn Fox keeps getting better and better. Yes, it's sexy as all get out and be prepared to get your eyebrows singed with the heat but more than that, it's a captivating story with a great mystery thrown in and a lot of heart.
I want to start by saying I hated Jaret and Toby, the Darkland cousins at the beginning of the book. I was remembering them from Impulsive and what absolute hard asses they were. I was probably biased because I loved Kane and it grated at me how obnoxious they were to him. At the start of Indulgent, they are still no better. They have a bone to pick and have hunted Kane down in order to destroy him and all the "monsters" he loves and holds dear. It really took getting further into the book and them getting to know Lily that their defenses went down and their hearts softened. As I got to know Jaret and Toby better, it was difficult to stay indifferent towards them. They were so dang sexy! But aside from that, they were also men who had hardened their hearts after suffering a terrible loss. They wanted to protect themselves from ever feeling such pain and vulnerability again, and it took Lily with her gentleness and kindness to breakthrough their hardened protective shell. By the time I got to the end of the book, I was thoroughly in love with them.
Lily was shrouded in mystery for the better part of the book. There are so many secrets and unanswered questions surrounding her, and in her naiveté and trust of the wrong person, she inadvertently endangered not only herself, but the town she loves as well as Jaret and Toby. Lily had a wonderful core of goodness and purity to her. Perhaps it's because she's been sheltered and kept in the dark all her life but it made her a very likable character. In-spite of the mystery surrounding her, her untutored state and the evil perpetrated upon her and her loved ones, she was able to dig deep and find the strength to fight for the ones she loved.
Ms Fox did a good job keeping me guessing in this story with as to the motives surrounding the bad guys. It was quite fun to learn what was going on when it all finally came together. Wanting to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding Lily had me reading fast to get to the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope there are more in the series to come. I have a feeling Quinn's story is next and I very sincerely hope so. Any hints of what's to come, Ms Fox? Pretty please?

Indulgent by Cathryn Fox
Paranormal Romance- Jan. 4th, 2011
3 1/2 stars

In the 3rd installment of Cathryn Fox's Eternal Pleasures series, we are treated to the story behind the powerful and untrained witch, Lily. This is a sensual paranormal that is light and enjoyable read.

Lily is a witch whose entire clan/village was massacred by a jealous family named the Darklands out of spite and jealously. Many years later, Lily has suppressed her wild magic and never learned how to use it. Now she lives in a protected paranormal community. But when 2 very attractive men stop near her community, her magic breaks free and they become aware of her and her new village. These 2 men are Darklands and are cousins named Jaret and Toby. (They are part of the PTF or Paranormal Task Force - humans bent on obliterating paranormals for human safely even they both have empathetic abilities themselves.) When they encounter Lily’s magic, they are enthralled and determined to hunt her down. But their presence has threatened the peace and safely of the paranormal community (made up of: shifters, vampires, witches etc.) where Lily lives. This village just wants to be left alone from the encroaching and often violent humans. And although Lily knows she shouldn't trust them, she does and they all become lovers. But someone whom Lily trusts wants her untapped power and will do anything to get it.

This is a light, easy read that is super HOT. I really liked the community the author created with all the various paranormals which I feel can really be explored further. The 2 heroes are very alpha and sexy as they desire Lily but are not sure of her powers. I liked reading about Lily’s tragic past and wish she had been a more developed character. It has been many years since the destruction of her family, and yet she still seems a bit stuck in a limbo until the cousins came. I also couldn’t believe she was that sexually inexperienced. I wished she had tried to develop her powers at least a little and done something more interesting in her life except seeming to just be waiting for Jaret and Toby to come.

The heroine is believable but for her age, I thought she would be a bit more mature, less naïve and more proactive. The scenes between and the 2 men are very steamy and fans will definitely enjoy them.

This is a good book to relax and enjoy. Warning: a very sexy read.

This is one helluva hot book. After a few chapters in particular, I felt like I needed a cigarette, and I don’t smoke! The sex scenes are intense from the get go, yet the story is compelling, keeping the reader engaged and wanting to find out more.

The main character, Lily, has a dramatic, yet enigmatic back story, that the readers learn more and more about as the story goes on. I found her to be interesting and wanted to know all about her. I cared about what happened to her and was kept on the edge of my seat wondering how her story would turn out and what her connection to the two men were.

In the beginning, I didn’t care for the two cousins, Jaret and Toby. I thought they were stereotypical, selfish, alpha males who shot first and asked questions later, but by the end Fox had me rooting for them as well. I wanted their love stories to unfold.

The paranormal elements and the world Fox creates is also fascinating, her family history, rules and boundaries of magic, and the paranormal community described in the book was fun to escape in and learn about.

I read this one, not realizing it was in a series, and am definitely hooked. I really like Fox’s writing style, and will have to get a hold of the other books that go along with this one.

I've loved every book in this series so far and this was no exception. I've really enjoyed watching the series evolve, though I'm sad we lost Jaclyn and Slyck. It would've been great had they somehow been involved in this book and had they had a bit of a larger role in book 2. Regardless, I throughly enjoyed this book. While part of a series, this book could be read as a stand-alone. It is HEA with no cliffhanger. Overall, an excellent read and I look forward to reading more of the author's work!

INDULGENT #3 in a series picks up where IMPULSIVE left off. Jaret and Toby Darkland are two Paranormal Task Force officers in Chicago and long time rivals where Kane was concerned. The three got along like oil and water. When Kane mysteriously disappears, the two cousins take off to find him...in Serene. Jaret and Toby are descendants of a long line of witches...and Lily, a resident of Serene, is a witch...but they are on opposite goal lines. This evolves into an interesting three-some. Just when you think the adventure is over....guess what! It's lookin' like #4 on the horizon, with Quinn - one really hot vampire - as the main man. Since the last word on the page is "Impossible"....I'd say the title of the next book is IMPOSSIBLE.

The erotica was page burning, but I didn't like the way the romance worked at all. I also haven't read the previous two books in the series in which several secondary characters were introduced. I felt like I was playing catch up at times, although the author did a great job giving me the info. I needed to read this book like a stand alone. Again, my biggest issue with the story was the romance. Some romances can carry off love between two men and a woman, at the end of this book

Lily has kept her powers hidden since the day she watched her lineage get destroyed. She has been hiding in Serenity a town with many paranormals living together in one town.
Jaret and Toby are brothers who get into Serenity they are not sure what is going on in this town but they know something isn't right.
The pull between Lily, Jaret and Toby is so strong there is no way to resist it. The closer they get the more secrets they see when their empath comes through.
I loved the way everyone worked together to keep the town safe and when secrets come out and trouble develops through one of their own. Jaret and Toby will step in and save Lily.

If you like to read about witches and shifters this is the series for you but there is a caution it is really explicit yet inthrawling. just wondering if there will be another one to this set not sure if fox is going to continue or just start another but Im sure I can keep up with whatever she publishes she is truely a great writer in detail of all things plot backgrounds and sex thanks for a great read in this series.
