The book Gone Forever is about extinct animals. The extinct animals shown in this book lived all different parts of the world. All the animals in this book went into extinction around 1500-1980's. One animal in the book was a Barbary Lion. They were bigger than normal lions and their mane covers up half of its body. The Lion were hunted to extinction when farmer had better gun.

I really like reading this book because I got to learn new and cool animals. I would recommend this book to people that like animals or if you just want to learn more information about some extinct animals.

I'd read this book as a child and it has truly shaped my viewpoint of humans and mankind's progress.
And since this book was created, even more animals have gone extinct; there are many who are threatened and endangered, but nothing has changed.
In light of the slaughter of the wolves under the guise of population control to protect livestock, it has become apparent that mankind hasn't really learnt anything.
With the lost of every single species of animal and plant, it destabilizes the delicate balance of nature.
