When nobody else can do the job, it’s Zombie time.
The world thinks they are dead. America’s enemies wish it was true. They are the rough men and women ready to commit violence on our behalf. They are the Nameless members of Task Force Zombie.
America’s enemies in the War on Terror don’t respect borders and don’t play by any rules. The SEALs, Delta Force, MARSOC, and USAF Special Operations Command comprise our front line against those who want to spill the blood of the innocent. But after the Benghazi Embassy attack, a notorious Austrian arms dealer who sold the terrorists American Stingers takes refuge in Egypt and there is nothing the U.S. military can do about it. Sending in conventional special forces would be an act of war. That’s when Task Force Zombie gets the call.
Somebody high up in the American government wants that Austrian arms dealer dead, to cover up their own complicity in the sale of the Stingers. Whoever it is wants the Zombies to kill the arms dealer… but never to make it home again. The first book in the series features the origins of Green Ghost, Vapor, Claw, Wingnut, and all of the other Zombies… including Adder.

A Southern boy through and through, Bill spent his entire life learning how to tell stories. It's all Bill ever wanted to do, to inspire and entertain people the way his favorite authors did for him.
Over the years he has developed a unique writing style, or 'Voice', of which he is very proud, with the objective of trying to always entertain his readers.
After graduating from the University of Memphis with dual concentrations in History and Creative Writing, Bill has been published in such diverse magazines as Tied in a Bow (for Wedding planning) and World War II. His books include both non-fiction and fiction.
Plenty of action, plenty of gun play, fast paste, interesting characters. The only problem I found with this book which is a military book dealing with special forces is that the book is too short. You just get started with the action and then the story is done. It is well worth a read though.
Task Force Zombie: The Nameless is the first book in the Task Force Zombie series. A part of the Last Brigade Universe, it goes back and tells the stories of all our favorite characters. I believe it's best read in order.
I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it and I'm headed to the next one now!
Enjoyed the story, going to get the next couple of books in the series now. The characters seem very lifelike to me, and the big action scene towards the end of the book was very sharp, and fast, realistic.
Beyond amazing! I couldn't breathe during the zombies first assignment. Fast reflection is a understatement. I don't know about you but I have my favorites already. Fast action is on the menu and the zombie team is handing out extra servings!
But nothing wrong with that. Did not find it derivative, and look forward to continuing the series. Please don’t kill off too many zombies before we get to know them better!
Task Force Zombie is definitely not what I expected but, the surprise was all good! First (and this might be considered a spoiler) there are no actual zombies involved in the mayhem enclosed between the covers. Nonetheless, I love the characters, the story and their camaraderie. The only negative issue is that I only wanted 400-500 more pages. Now that desire has been fulfilled because there are sequels to this episode, hurray!
