Peter: Volume Three : The Kilmarnock Trilogy

Rate this book
The final part of the adventures of Peter MacTavish, physician, once Josef Benes. He comes to grips with his past, his duties as a doctor and as a father. It follows the course of his life from the eighteen- fifties to his death. As his country grows around him so does Peter until he is strong enough to accept himself and what has been done to him. His adventures take him through student years in Kingston and Montreal. He travels to New York in a vain attempt to confront Radek. Becoming a surgeon in the Union army he is taken prisoner and serves as a doctor as a prisoner of war camp in Georgia. Rescued by Strachan, Ian and Maggie he is taken back to Kilmarnock. There he becomes a physician for the township. During the years that follow he largely puts the past behind him until he has to travel south once again, this time in search of Katrina. In finding and forgiving her he is also able to find away to forgive himself.
