"Prophesy your future. Locate the Word of God concerning you and speak it out. Speak forth the Word...The Word of God is living and active. If you put the Word inside you, He'll make you a master over circumstances of life. You will never live in fear or defeat anymore. With the Word inside you, there's no telling how far you'll go. All the limitations will be taken out of your life and your potentialities will be let loose." (Chris Oyakhilome, Prophecy: Understanding the Power that Controls Your Future, Page 49; 51)

The author begins this book by differentiating between what foretelling and forth-telling is. He says that the prophecy of the Word of God has a two-fold application; that being: To foretell and forth-tell. So what is the difference? Here is his definition:

"'Foretelling' is not the same as fortune-telling, palm-reading, star-gazing, crystal-gazing or zodiac sign reading. To foretell, according to the scriptures, means to tell ahead of time things in the mind of God concerning a person or people, places or events.

'Forth-telling," on the other hand, means to speak forth, tell out or tell forward what is in the mind of God. It's the declaration of events in the mind of God or the declaration of a particular Word from God to an individual, people, or place, or event for a particular time" (Page 8).

The core message in this book is that we can prophesy our future using the Word of God as our foundation. We can take what is written in the Word of God and put it in our mouth and declare what the Word of God says about us; not what the world says about us...not what our feeling says about us...not what our circumstances say about us, but what the Word of God says about us!

This book is in no wise a comprehensive study on the gift of prophesy or office of the prophet. It is more a teaching on how to take the Word of God and using it to declare the future that God has promised you. It has some good teaching, but for those who are looking for a book on operating in the gift of prophesy or operating in the office of the prophet; this is not the book. It is more on how to operate in prophecy to edify yourself, rather than to edify others.
