Winter Magic by T M Chromer Thorne Witches #3. Paranormal romance. Best read in series order but is a complete romance arc for this couple. Years ago, Winnie and Zane had a relationship and encounter that didn’t really go well for both of them. In an argument at the time, a wish to “forget I ever knew you” turned into a magic spell and Zane no longer remembers their history. Now, Zane is hit with all his memories and is furious with Winnie. He also learns he has magic abilities and his life is about to change more than expected.
I totally understand the instinct to yell and be defensive rather than calming discussing the situation. And I understand Zane’s fear of being laughed at. They were relatively young and inexperienced. Getting to know each other again forces each to be honest and open with each other but it does take time. In the meantime, an amulet is needed to help save the women’s mother and the mystery is woven into the relationship repair as other family gets involved. The epilogue crosses over to the next book in the series and next sister and a teaser left unanswered.
I don’t often leave reviews, but this is the third book in the series, and I’m a little disappointed. Why do the women keep coming back to these men? They seem manipulative and just not all that redeeming. I get that every relationship has ups and downs, but these guys are seriously losers. I wouldn’t ever encourage the women to go back to these men after the way they act. I don’t think I’ll be reading the next one. The dialogue is often amusing, but the relationships are disturbing. They border on verbally abusive at times. It’s almost ridiculous that these rather benign books are essentially a trigger for me, but the men are just not at all deserving of these women.
same review as the others - The characters are whiney and annoying and fight and makeup and don't listen to each other and make the wrong assumptions repeatedly. But it is like a car crash you are driving by...you can't turn away.
So this was my least favorite book in the series and I don’t think I can continue. I actually feel like Winter having magic is what caused all of the problems that she had. If she hadn’t used her magic she wouldn’t have had half the issues. Then Zane felt crazy and chaotic as a character. I liked him at the beginning but the farther I got into the story the less I liked him. Then the cliffhanger prelude to the next book just sealed the deal that this would be the last book I would read in this series.
Ms. T. M. Cromer manages to suck readers into the story after the first few lines of this humorous, slightly combustible story of a witch and a warlock with major miscommunication issues.
Winter Magic continues the saga of the Thorne sister’s search for the artifacts needed to bring their mother out of stasis. The female main character is Winter (Winnie) Thorne. Like her sisters before her, her one true love is a Carlyle, this time Zane. Winnie and Zane had a relationship when they were younger but an unfortunate conversation about Zane’s love making skills led to Zane saying some horrible things. When he told Winnie he wished he could forget about their relationship, she was devastated and gets her Aunt Gigi to help her cast a forgetting spell. Now they are thrown back together to go after an amulet needed to bring her mother back. Zane has his memory back, and he is not happy about what Winnie did. Even when they are angry at each other, Zane and Winnie’s chemistry is hot. They go through a lot to reach their HEA. Although the romance in Winter Magic ends in an HEA, the overall story arc continues in the next book. The epilogue of the book gives a preview of what happens in the next book, Spring Magic. I highly recommend this series.
Winter “Winnie” Thorne and Zane Carlye start as young lovers that act first and think later. When words carelessly spoken causes magical consequences, it’s up to a most unlikely matchmaker to get them back together. Toss in a search for a long lost amulet, plots of revenge, snarky banter, a smexxy warlock, a villain from the past, and you get another magical adventure with one of the Thorne sisters and their one true love.
Winnie loves with her whole heart, and is so quick to forgive the hot-headed Zane…perhaps a little too quickly. This reader is counting the days to get Alastair’s story! He was by far my fav character in this one, and with each book, I only want more!
Winter Magic is another fun-tastic read by T.M. Cromer! Highly recommend!
Winter’s first time with Zane was less than spectacular and when she point blank tells him things do not go well. He says he wishes he could forget – so she does what any good witch would do – she casts a spell to make him forget the encounter. Unfortunately, something causes Zane to remember and he almost gets killed in a car accident while he remembers. He is a tad angry and vows revenge. His revenge back fires when he realizes he is in love with Winnie. They are sent on a quest by Allister to find the next gem to help bring their mother out of statis. They have a lot to work out before they can work together on this quest and it is fun to see how they accomplish that!
These books get better and better Loved Winter and Zane’s story. A love that was ruined years ago by anger and a spell to forget. Zane moves back to his hometown and starts to get visions of himself and Winter. He thinks they are familiar but can’t remember why. Winter has been found out. As the two have been paired up for the next mission time will tell if they can both forgive and move on. The enemy is close and Winter may be in trouble. Fantastic read. I am loving this series. Now onto Spring.
Winter Magic is a second chance romance and the series should be read in order because you get some telling scenes in the other books about Winter and Zane. I really like the characters, but it's the mystery and plot that keeps me going forward at the end of every book. By the end, I am very satisfied with the romance angle, but I will admit to thinking the main characters run hot and cold with each other too often. I do enjoy how they use their magic so frequently and freely at times. For mundane things like coffee and revenge, which I would totally want to do if I had magic!
I am enjoying this series. I do recommend reading the series in order.
Each book in this series ends with a bit of a cliffhanger. Each of the Thorne sisters are trying to find an artifact that is needed to save their mother. In this book Winnie and Zane are paired up to find an amulet. Winnie and Zane have a history. They need to work out their differences if they are going to be able to get the amulet they need.
I’ve loved the series so far, even though I found the prior books’ MMCs to be a little over the top. Both previous MMCs got over themselves for the most part and the couples ended up in fairly healthy relationships (by book standards lol) I could accept. This pairing I just did not have the same vibe from— mostly because of Zane. His revenge on her for her actions as a teenager was so disgusting I would have had a hard time rooting for him even if he did a 180 after the couple’s scheduled plot confrontation, but he didn’t. Their relationship was so extremely volatile for the entire book, and his mood swings were so intense (Winnie makes comments multiple times about being afraid he’d hit her during his meltdowns) their HEA wasn’t anything I could get on board with.
I was able to finish the book and not DNF, but I definitely won’t be rereading in the future.
I read the first 2 books and could only get through the first few chapters of this one. I carried on reading because I hoped that the story telling would improve but it doesn't. The stories feel rushed with a lot of forward and backward. The character growth is abysmal, with a few steps forward and then miles back at the smallest perceived slight. The Carlyle men must be the most borish, ignorant and childish group of men with extremely fragile egos that I have ever read about. While I appreciate the storyline and believe that the books would be amazing if they were carefully reviewed and parts re-written to make the story flow better. At the moment, there is a lot of disconnect and incongruency that make reading the books difficult.
(3.5) This is a good story. If you are following along with the series, which you probably are since this is book three, you'll find a lot of similarities running through the stories plus the continuation of the hunt to obtain the amulet they need. It's hard to talk about a third story without giving away spoilers but I think it's possible with this one. In this story Winter, or Winnie, isn't quite as fiery as she's been in previous books. She's a lot like the other sisters in the other books. Actually this runs a lot like the other books in that there is a lot of the sex stuff that seems to be the on again off again thing. Get together, something happens and it's "no I'm mad at you go away" so the guy has to do something even stupider (though the girl isn't blameless just she feels she was justified), then the guy kind of has to really kiss butt to get in good graces, but there is sexy times in between and... well, there are just a lot of things that seem to be the same themes as the other books, just the situation is different, action almost the exact same or incredibly similar. Now, after all that I'll add here that it's working well for the series. It's a formula that has been playing out through the first three so far and the formula is sticking. You can see that others are really enjoying if you look at the other reviews. If you find a formula and it works, keep doing it. That being said, there is some story line in here that has to do with trying to get the amulet back. It kicks up around the halfway point, maybe a little after, and some crazy stuff goes down! All the usual suspects are in the book and a few new faces are introduced. When you are focused on the amulet plot, it's really good. I was foggy on why they were after it though since it's been awhile since I read the last book so had to give myself a refresher but once I did that I was all in again. I vowed to read the next in the series very soon because now I'm looking forward to seeing where the next adventure goes and how much closer they are going to get to finally getting everything they need! I can't wait! This is an interesting series. It has a lot of relationship in each book. I would definitely say that the relationship and the workings of the relationship take up a bigger portion of the story than anything else. At least in this book. I can't recall if it were the same in the first two. I liked this book. The writing is very good. I think the character of Winnie just felt a tiny bit off for me and the, "Go away oh no I never mind I love you again" thing was just getting to be much because it seemed so familiar. Still, even with that, I did really like this and still recommend the entire series to everyone that is at all curious. It's worth it.
This is the third book in the series. These books should be read in order as it is a plot continuation from the previous books on a quest to find items needed to wake up the Thorne sister’s mom from her stasis. This is Winter and Zane’s story. In the first 2 books, you don’t see much of Zane, but you get the vibe that he and Winter will end up together. This story starts off with an eye opener of what took place when they were teenagers having their first sexual encounter. Winter was brutally honest about it and Zane was shocked to say the least. She ends up casting a spell on him to forget the whole day. Fast forward now years later and they have to work together to find the amulet needed to bring her mother out of her stasis. Zane has opened up his lawyer office in town and is pleasantly surprised to see Winter when she walks in. He has liked her forever, just like she’s liked him but neither know how the other feels. With some help, Zane ends up remembering their encounter and holds a grudge after Winter apologizes. He decides to trick her into falling in love with him bec everyone knows the Thornes only love once, then leaving her. His plan ends up working because she does love him. She sees him kiss another woman after she’s professed her love. They are supposed to go looking for the amulet, but she takes off. This is where she finds Rafe, a gorgeous older man that’s a member of the wc. Zane finds her and is jealous, saying he didn’t do anything and realizes he loves her. This goes on for awhile. They go back and forth, end up working together with the help of Rafe in finding the amulet. Lin makes his appearance and you find out why he’s against witches and the Thorne family in general. They end up working out their problems and get their happy ending. The epilogue is mainly leading up to Spring’s book. Something has happened to her when she and Knox go looking for Thor’s hammer. I’m excited to read book 4 and keep this magical adventure going.
As it says ,this is the third book in the series. While the series is about the witches and warlocks of the Thorne family, each book concentrates on a few members at a time. This one is Winter Rose Thornes story. While the Thorne mother is in "stasis" each sister must help in the search for artifacts to help bring their mother home. Winnie is an extremely strong and powerful witch. Each sister only loves once in a lifetime and her love is Zane... a newly realized warlock who is learning from Winnie how to use his own powers. While searching for an amulet they need, their powers and their love is tested in the best and worse ways . There is someone else who also wants the amulet as well as wanting the Thorne family dead. Can Winnie and Zane survive this and will it break them apart ??? This is such a great story and series and you will love/hate the characters. This is also a story of misunderstandings and strength, and love. I highly suggest that you read them in order, and preferably one right after the other lol !!
In this third adaptation in The Thorne Witches we are thrown into another Thorne sister's adventure. This time it's Winter Thorne and her side of things happening in her family. Not only is this an adventure but it has romance thrown in as well. Winnie and Zane's relationship hasn't been the best. They start off rocky, but then, throughout the book they seem to draw closer to each other. T.M. Cromer's spicy words makes the reader's want to turn the page to see what happens in this romantical adventure. Will Winnie and Zane patch up their relationship? And will they help Alistair bring the Thorne Sister's mother back again?
T.M. Cromer's scolding hot words pulls the reader's in to Winnie and Zane's relationship. The author shows her readers how much Winnie and Zane want each other, but then, something happens that always seems to pull them apart again. With her quit wit and sexual innuendos, making this an adult read, T.M. Cromer adds a little flare within this adventure making it a steamy read for all who is into these books. This is a must read.
It's addictive. The Thorne Witches Series is totally addictive. Winter Magic is another fix in this fabulous series that readers won't want to miss. T.M. Cromer has once again delivered a well-written book. I totally love the characters in this story. Winter Thorne is getting her turn to find an ancient relic. Zane is enlisted to help, but he's got a plan to help himself. Winter and Zane's story is loaded with drama, action, humor, steamy sex and suspense. This book hooked me from the first page till the last and I can't wait to read more from T.M. Cromer in the future. Winter Magic is book 3 of the Thorne Witches Series and can be read as a standalone. I suggest reading the first two books before this one, just to fill in any blanks you might wonder about. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I haven't read the previous books in this series but I'm thinking I might because I really liked this book. It has a little bit of everything I love, the story is well thought and flows nicely. The characters are all likeable, with their qualities and their flaws, their good and less good choices. Winter is not a pushover, but she is human. She loves, she cares, but she also makes mistakes. Zane has quite the temper though, and I would like to think it needs to be managed.
The only thing I have to say about this book would be that I would have liked to see more magic. Also, when there was an argument, a disagreement, a fight, I didn't really like that it took like 20 secondes for them to go back to each other. Sometimes, it's ok to let time pass and heal things.
The next story about Spring has me excited. I think I'll buy it. I want to know why Knox is being such a jerk and I hope he will get kicked in the balls for the way he speaks to her. ^^
Winter Thorne is a character and a half. After one bad experience she uses magic to erase the memory of her first time with soulmate Zane, dont we all wish we could do that? But in doing so she also erased his memories of every other moment they'd shared together. Fast forward a little and Uncle Alastair has yet another artefact and another plan to throw an unwitting couple together. However, Winnie falls into the hands of the one and only Zhu Lin. After watching Zane buried alive, she refuses to give in and almost loses her life in the process. The intensity of the love between these soul mates has your heart swooning even if Zane feels a bit tricked in the beginning. 3 sisters coupled up, and the friendly flirty banter alive and well in the family I was terrified and intrigued by what would happen to Spring. Couldn't put these books down
The Thorne family keeps growing and the magic keeps flowing. I am loving every minute of it.
Zane and Winter were childhood sweethearts until she decided to be brutally honest. Oops! Zane retaliated by throwing a few insults of his own and Winter took drastic measures to make him forget this unpleasant occurence.
Zane is now back in town and still feels an attraction to her. He feels that there is something missing until he has an accident where everything comes back with a vengeance. He is furious and decides that some payback is in order. Will he manage to see his plan through?
The banters are either hilarious or frustrating. The storyline is as good as the first two books. The love between Zane and Winter is as strong as their stubbornness and that makes for a very interesting read. A good witchy series.
Oh my what a story! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I say this for certain authors "How do the stories in a series get better with each book because I loved the earlier books so much"! I'm so glad I discovered T.M. Cromer by way of Robyn Peterman's Facebook page. I have loved the 4 books I have read by Tara...I can't get enough.
The writing is wonderful, it captures my attention and doesn't let go. There is so much magic and action it's like the story belongs in a magically action series. Can we talk about the sexual tension between the characters? You can cut it with a knife and it is hilarious how the other Thorne sisters find it amusing.
Winter (Winnie) and Zane's story is full of laughter, tears and action. I loved every minute of it. We are also introduced to new characters who need their story told. Highly recommend
