They shared a love as dangerous as the turbulent times they lived in.
He was a French-born warrior-knight, magnificent in battle, now forced by papal decree into a life of cruel exile.
She was a convent-raised English beauty, desperate to escape an arranged marriage...fated to save his life and to risk her own for a dangerous passion.
Divided by circumstances, they would meet again amid the pomp and splendor of King Edward's royal court.
From the stormswept coast of Devon to the dazzling palaces of London and the heroic battlefields of Scotland, Michel Faurer and Madeleine de Courtenay were caught in a desperate dance of danger and desire...two unlikely lovers destined to come together in a firestorm of forbidden passion that would join their hearts for all time!
This was the very good story of Michel Faurer, a french born former knight of the Templar and Madeleine de Courtnay, a young convent raised English beauty. He meets her when she rescues him from drowning, near her brother's castle. The Templars are being persecuted by everyone except for the Scots. The story follows the hero and heroine on their adventures and ordeals. I am not going to give it all away here but the book is a keeper in my opinion. The ending was a little abrupt, I thought, and no epilogue, probably because there are more books in the series.
I have read this book so many times over. I first read this book in 2000?. When I lost my copy I was heartbroken. But I got it back! And found there are three books that follow!
