A good high school dystopian romance ... HOWEVER the sexual overtune.. made it questionable.

This manga is a part of a series that is a (more or less) continuation to the manga series "Hana and the Beast Man" with the story making a time jump. The main characters however are not the same, but rather this manga focus on another wolfhybrid/human relationship, with the main male lead being Sana and Hana's hybrid son . This manga had an almost nostalgic taste to it, since it takes place in a high school and the main characters are in their teens. The storyline mostly deals with the other side of discrimination, humans' prejudice towards beast people, in contrast to the other two parts of the series, that focused on the beast people's towards humans, and has an Coming-Of-Age feel to it. HOWEVER... due to the protagonists' age I felt kind of uncomfortable since there are hints of sexual tension ... Thankfully, nothing actually "sexual" takes place, but it is an ongoing series so be careful if you considering picking it up.

This volume is completely adorable, and does a really good job advancing the macro plot happening within the story, not just progressing the romance, and I really appreciated it for that.

"Being able to walk with the boy I like through the town he grew up means that much to me." -Asaka

So, in this volume, Kisara has an extremely blunt entrance, and could easily put you off to her character. Please have faith, and know that by the end of this volume I adored her. She isn't necessarily upset with Asaka, but she's upset with herself for not speaking plainly about her feelings for Hidaka. When she takes a moment to speak with Asaka about her relationship, she sees that they both genuinely care about each other, and roots for them. I really loved that. They truly bond over another thing that happens, and they become true friends. It's quite sweet, and I really loved how the "jealousy" trope played out here.

Both Hidaka and Asaka both take time to show each other the beauty of their sides of this world. I really love that the mangaka took the time to do that with them. They do advance the physical part of their relationship a bit in this volume, and I appreciate that it was truly a matter of wanting to be with the person they like. It was amazing.

The entry of a new human curious about our mixed species couple is really going to make the next volume interesting, so I will definitely be reading and recommending this series.

So I finally caught up with how far I got in the anime, I think I left off an episode 7 or 8, and I can definitely say that it goes a little bit farther in the manga than it does in the anime. It's still not completely explicit but it definitely gets very handsy lol. So I guess again, trigger warning if you don't like this sort of stuff... Especially when you're dealing with cross species such as a beast person and a human...

Okay so once those are out of the way I can go on to talk about the stuff that I enjoyed lol! The story is developing with all the Doki Doki that you could possibly want! I thoroughly am enjoying the slow building intensity of their feelings for each other. I think it does a very good job of capturing the intensity of emotion that teenagers actually feel. Things are still going pretty slow and as far as conflict things are still pretty simple and low stakes. We're still dealing mostly with school days and a little bit of social stigma and prejudice. But most of it is about coming to terms with puberty and personal changes and the way the bodies are plus the emotions that are impacted by all these changes. I still think it's a beautiful coming of age story so far. It's very grounded and has a lot of very human experiences despite being half inhuman in the relationship lol.

4 stars - I'm really enjoying Hidaka's and Mari's relationship as they're so completely adorable together, but this manga got more sexual than the previous two and now I'm just picturing it in anime form. The first anime episode was released yesterday (yay!) and the whole theme of the show seemed to be a wholesome, cute love story that crossed racial divides. So now I don't know what will happen.

We got to go to the Beast folk's town (though Hana and Sana didn't appear AGAIN!) and it was more beautiful than I remember from the prequel series. The fact that its a regular town but completely surrounded by nature? Let me move there! I also like that Mari made a new friend with the character who would typically be bullying the FMC. And the tease for the next manga? I want to read it now but its months away from being released :(

Cuando vi que se iba a hacer la adaptación de una historia de romance entre un experimento/bestia y una humana me pareció interesante. NO sabía que iba a tener escenas un poco subidas de tono (hasta el tomo 3 no hemos visto gran cosa, pero teniendo en cuenta lo que ha hecho antes Chihiro Yuzuki, creo que se vienen momentos más fuertes).

Me gusto que esta historia cuente como es la socialización de las bestias en el mundo humano y como enfrentan los prejuicios y la discriminación. Creo que me interesa más eso que el romance en sí, aunque es muy chuchi.

Todos los personajes que presentan esta historia me gustan, incluso los que a veces se enfrentan al vinculo entre ellos. Veremos como se siguen desarrollando, le tengo fe!

Things are getting even more cute and romantic between the two main characters in this book! Aw, I really like how the romance has been progressing and it’s a mix of sweet, endearing, but also going into a newer territory of Mari and the MMC testing the boundaries of their growing relationship. I want the next volume already! Love these characters and together they are perfect and sweet.
