I read this as part of my book club with my Dad. It’s interesting, but far too much detail was given to superfluous characters. I’m skeptical about some of the claims, too.

Fascinating conspiracy theory of Lincoln assassination; spurred on by Lincoln's clandestine dealings between northern investors and Southern cotton owners until 1865. With victory in hand, Lincoln vacillated on deals and the extremists of his party sought his removal from office allying themselves with the instable John Wilkes Booth and his band.
