This is NOT a weight loss book. This is a book geared to help athletes design a nutrition plan that can help maximize performance and injury prevention according to their specific needs. Lots of information regarding timing and needs during practice and competition. Great general information overall with some good examples for a few specific sports. I would have liked to see more specific examples on other sports that could be more complicated like ultra distance sports and triathlons.
Overall great information about timing of nutrition with regards to athletic training and competition. My interest was mostly on endurance cycling, as I get ready for another Century ride, which was not covered much. No big deal though.
Good overview for a suggested diet for college athletes, but not so great for an overweight/obese person looking to lose weight while maintaining/building muscle
this is intense. Best for those who like to know every tiny detail about what they're eating. I found it helpful, but intense. We'll see if it helps me at all with my nutrition.
