Micah Being left at the altar wouldn't have been nearly as humiliating if it hadn’t happened in front of the whole damn world. But when you have an international reputation as the “Bad Boy of Country Music” someone is always watching. Is it any wonder, my beloved grandmother tells me its time I return home to my small Texas town roots. The last thing I need is the same meddling grandmother setting me up with her ridiculously smart tenant. Did I mention she’s deliciously curvy and has big blue eyes that remind me of the Texas sky? Yep, I’m in trouble. Astrid I’m a nerd with a capital “N.” Between getting my Ph.D in Geology and my strange obsession with art fraud documentaries, I’m one pocket-protector short of being Queen of the Nerds. I’m already in over my head trying to make the family bookstore a success. The very last thing I need is to be stuck in an old Victorian house with Mr. Tall, Dark and Way-Too-Hot-For-Me. Still, there’s something in his sultry brown eyes that hint at more depth and intelligence than he pretends to have. But can I really claim a bruised heart that already belongs to his music?
USA Today Bestselling Author, Kat Baxter writes fast-paced, sweet & STEAMY romantic comedies. Readers have dubbed her “The Queen of Adorkable.” and her books “laugh-out-loud funny,” and “hot enough to melt your kindle.” She lives in Texas with her family and a menagerie of animals. Kat is the pseudonym for a bestselling historical romance author.
Micah is the bad boy of music and back in town after a public break up to see his grandmother. Micah's break up was all a farce but he's happy to take a breather from the spotlight. What he doesn't count on is the beauty living with his grandmother.
Astrid is geeky in the best way and when she meets Micah, it's clear the two of them could be way more than just friends!
After reading Zane, the first Bad Boys of Saddle Creek, and absolutely loving him, I didn't think I would have room in my heart for anyone else. Turns out I was very wrong. Micah was just as sweet and spicy as the original bad boy.
I'm typically not into the 'famous person behaving badly' trope, but Kat was able to show us Micah's softer, good-hearted side in a believable way. And considering this is a novella that was pretty impressive. Micah did a lot of growing up off page prior to arriving in Saddle Creek and that information was conveyed nicely.
Astrid, our FMC, was nerdy, but self confident (great name BTW). She didn't feel like a caricature, which I think can easily happen with these types of characters. I would love to be friends with her and hear all the details of how she and Micah fell in love.
I knocked 1 star off because even though this is a novella, the ending felt a bit rushed and patchy. There were some weird jumps between ideas and sentences that could have used just a smidge more information. Other than that, another fun read by Kat Baxter.
I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Kat Baxter has done it again. Somehow, in 74 pages, she has made me smile and laugh and feel for two characters in such a short amount of time. Both Micah and Astrid were adorable and all of the geology puns gave me life!
OMG...how sweet is this book!! I was worried for a minute that things would get a bit angsty but they (thankfully) didn't. Thanks to the author for this refreshingly short, sweet book. Now onto the next one!.

'¿Cómo se llama realmente todo el brillo de la roca? Parece que estás cubierta de polvo de hadas.' Mis palabras resuenan a través de mi cráneo. ¿No estaba pensando que no había tal cosa como la magia y el polvo de hadas? Tal vez estaba equivocado. Tal vez encontré mi propia Tinkerbelle.

Micah de Kat Baxter serie Bad boys of Saddle Creek libro 2
Argumento:
Micah
Completely safe. No ow/om drama. Not much is mentioned about the H’s past but in Zane and Ian’s books it’s mentioned he was a pretty big manwhore. H was just left at the alter and is trying to ride out the media storm. H and fiancé were friends and had never had sex together. Both thought it would be good for their careers until the ow fled. Nothing is mentioned about the h’s past. H has been celibate for a long time. H’s ex fiancé/friend shows up upset and H is comforting her and h overhears them talking and misunderstands the conversation. She stands up for herself and tries to leave but H explains what’s going and everything is alright. No abuse and no cheating.
This was a great book. I really liked Micah and Astrid together with the banter and sweetness. These two had a very interning meet but it set the rest of the book up wonderfully. Astrid and Micah banter with each other but as they do they fall hard and fast for each other. There is only a little bit of drama but nothing that can't be talked through. I can't wait for the next book, Will.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Micah mets Astrid when he goes home to Saddle Creek to see his Me-Maw. Micah's Me-Maw raised him since his parents wanted nothing to do with him. Micah is known as the bad boy of country music and told not to come back to Saddle Creek until he cleaned himself up. When Micah arrives back in Saddle Creek he knows his Me-Maw is already in bed so he heads to The Needle Bards, his friend Ian Hot Mess Wedding and brother Zane Zane own, he finds Nash Candy Coated Curves there as well. Micah was suppose to get married to Jess Dad Bod Cowboy, but they weren't in love, it was only to benefit their careers. After they all catch Micah up on what's going on in Saddle Creek they head home to their wives. Micah leaves, he knows a way to get into his Me-Maw's house without a key. Astrid rents a room at Daisy's who's is Micah's Me-Maw. Astrid is watching television while her dog lays on the couch beside her. Astrid hears a noise like someone is breaking in, so she goes to see what is going on. Astrid finds the window open, then she sees the intruder, wearing all black. Astrid whacks him over the head with one of the dog toys she picked up. Micah tells her to stop hitting him, Astrid tells him she will not. Micah turns on the light and tells her this is his house, when he sees what's in Astrid's hand he asks her if that's a sex toy. Astrid tells him it's one of her dog's toys, then she tells him she's going to call the police. Micah tells her she's adorable but what is she doing in his Me-Maw's house. Soon Micah's Me-Maw comes downstairs, when she see him she tells him to give her a hug. Micah's Me-Maw introduces them, then Astrid tells her she thought he was an intruder. Astrid heads back to bed, while Micah and his Me-Maw grab a cup of tea and talk. Micah asks his Me-Maw what was so urgent she needed him to come home right away. Me-Maw asks him about the ring he bought for Jess, then about his broken engagement. Me-Maw tells Micah that if he's going to get married he needs her ring, but she doesn't know where it is. Micah finds out that his Me-Maw is going on a trip to the casino with her friends tomorrow and will be gone for three days. Me-Maw tells Micah that while she's gone he can search for the ring, then tells him it'll do him some good to be back home, living life at a slower pace. Micah asks about Astrid, Me-Maw tells him she'll be here, she could help him look, if he asks her nicely. Astrid is working on her Geology research for her dissertation, while Micah plays his guitar and sings in the living room. Astrid gets annoyed and asks Micah if he can play his guitar someplace else. Micah asks her to help him then he'll get out of her hair. Micah explain about the ring he needs to find of his Me-Maw's. Astrid agrees to give him two hours of helping him, she has something to do tonight. They head upstairs to the bedroom, but then Astrid gets busy messaging her sister Esther Will and runs into Micah, then realizes he's in her bedroom. Soon Micah is pulling out a pair of Astrid's panties, she soon realizes he's flirting with her. Micah suggest they start in the attic and work down. They both get working looking through boxes, but don't find the ring. Astrid cuts her hand and Micah picks her up to take her to the bathroom. Astrid tells him it's her hand not her feet she can walk, but Micah tells her to be quiet and let him take care of her. After Micah cleans up the cut and bandages up her cut he places a kiss there. Micah asks her isn't that what your suppose to do kiss it to make it better, Astrid tells him she doesn't know, she never had anyone bandage her up before. Micah asks her if her parents ever did it for her, Astrid explains about ther parents. Astrid asks if they should look in Me-Maw's room, the ring maybe in her jewelry box. When Astrid's alarm beeps on her phone she tells Micah she has to go. Micah asks her where she's going, Astrid tells him to watch the meteor showers. Micah tells her he'll go with her, Astrid tells him it's not necessary. Micah insists they take his SUV and they stop at the store along the way. Micah asks Astrid if she grew up in Saddle Creek, she tells him she grew up in Austin, but she would come and visit her grandpa who died last year, he owned the bookstore. After Astrid sends a picture of her and Micah to her sister Esther, her sister explains who he is to her. Once they park, and get everything set up, Astrid sees what he's doing. Astrid tells him he can't build a fire, Micah tells her they're self contained campfires about the size of a coffee mug. Micah tells her that the campfires are to make s'mores, but Astrid tells him she's never made them before. Micah asks her why she wants to be a geologist and Astrid tells him. Then she tells him her sister wants to move here after she graduated and run the bookstore. Then Astrid tells him a few years ago, some idiot let a bunch of goats loose in town, they got inside her grandfathers bookstore and ate the shelves, books and some furniture. The insurance didn't cover anything and her grandfather was devastated. Micah makes Astrid a S'more, then he tells her he needs to come clean. Micah is the one that let the goat loose in town, he had to much to drink and wasn't in a good place. Micah made sure to contact his attorney so that he could fix what was broken in town. Astrid tells him it was him, he tells her he's really sorry. Astrid asks him if it was him who paid for everything, paid for all the repairs, he doesn't know how much that means to her. While they're eating their s'mores Micah tells her he wants to kiss her, Astrid tells him okay. Micah kisses her, then pulls Astrid to him setting her in his lap. Soon Micah hears a rumble somewhere behind them, and tells Astrid he things it's thunder. Soon it starts to rain and they start packing their things up. Micah looks at Astrid picking up things in the rain and the music starts in his head, in his soul, he can hear it, and feel it. Micah knows he's going to write a song about Astrid and he's going to marry her. They head back to Me-Maw's house and strip out of their wet clothes, Astrid tells him she wants more. Micah pick her up and carries her to his bedroom. Micah pleasures her, then they make love. Astrid wakes up alone, she goes in search of Micah and finds him downstairs. When Astrid hears him talking to a woman he has wrapped in his arms she realizes it's Jess. Astrid walks back upstairs and goes to take a shower. Astrid gets dressed and walks downstairs, when Micah sees her he introduces her to Jess. Astrid tells Jess it's nice to meet her, and she would apologize for all the sex they had but they weren't together. Astrid tells him she'll get out of their way, she has some errands to run. Micah asks Astrid what she's doing, she tells him she doesn't regret their night, but she can't watch him go back to his real life. Micah asks her what she's talking about, he's not going anywhere. Jess tells them she'll be going, Astrid tells Micah that now that they're back together he should go with her. Micah tells Astrid he's not, Astrid tells him she saw them. Micah tells Astrid he's in love with her, with her saying whatever is on her mind. Micah tells her she's perfect and real and he can hear the music when he's next to her. Micah tells her he told her last night he wants to keep her forever, she's perfect. Astrid tells him she wants that too, she never thought she'd have a deep connection with anyone. Micah tells her he loves her and Astrid tells him she loves him. Micah carries Astrid back upstairs, they crawl back into bed when it hits him. Micah realizes his Me-maw set them up, she knew Astrid was the one for him. Astrid tells Micah they'll have to thank her, later. A few weeks later, Micah tells Astrid several times a day that he loves her. While they're eating breakfast, Micah spots the necklace around his Me-maw's neck. Micah asks his Me-Maw if that's her ring, he asks her if she had it all along. Micah's Me-Maw tells him she's getting old, she was done watching her idiot grandson make an ass out of himself, she knew what he needed. After Micah takes the ring from his Me-Maw he goes down on one knee beside Astrid's chair. Micah tells Astrid she's his perfect girl, his heart, his muse, will she be his wife. Me-Maw tells them there's a clause to the ring, no take backs, no mind changing and no mention of divorce, ever, it's a commitment for life. Astrid holds her hand out to Micah and tells him she will, and she'll never mention divorce, he's hers for life. Micah tells her she's his heart and soul and he's hers for life.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Astrid had no idea who was breaking into the house that she was currently living in, and it was clear that her dog Garnet was going to be of no use, so sneaking into the room she knew the intruder was in holding one of the dog toys she sets about teaching him a lesson. But things change when she discovers that he is actually the missing in action grandson Micah. Astrid realizes how handsome he is from that moment on knows that things may be a bit different now he is in town, especially when she discovers exactly who he is, there is no way that he is going to be interested in a nerdy geologist when he has models ready to drop at his feet. Or have the planets aligned, and she has met the man for her?
Micah got the call from his Me-Maw and knew it was time to pay her a visit especially after the latest scandal surrounding him and his failed wedding, not that they were in love it was basically a business arrangement but returning home meant facing the music in more ways than one. He never expected to be attacked by his very own Tinkerbell branding a sex toy she was determined to explain away as a dog toy. He was enamored straight away and knew that his life had changed from this moment on, but family first and when his Me-Maw requested that he help find her lost wedding ring he convinces Tink to give him a hand knowing that when they have that ring there is only one place that the ring will be going and that is upon her finger. But how will his Tink feel when his ex-shows up and will he be able to prove that she is all that he wants?
I loved this I actually giggled I need some of these shirts. This was a short read with all the feels and Astrid is just adorable from the start to finish. 4.2* Read
Geology Rocks...and he is about to get his world rocked
Micah is the second book in The Bad Boys of Saddle Creek series. I really loved this sweet, spicy and entertaining story about Astrid Dubois and Micah Shane. He is a bad boy of country music who is coming back home after a very public break-up, actually she ran off leaving him almost at the alter. What no one knows though is that his ex was actually just a good friend and the marriage was for PR for both of them. But Micah is back home after being summoned by his grandmother and along the way his life is about to get even more complicated than he ever thought it could. Astrid is a sweet and beautiful soul who you would want as your best friend. After getting her degree she moved back home to Saddle Creek and now rents a room from Daisy Stonefield, along with her dog Garnet. Astrid and Micah first meet when he crawls through a window in the house and she assaults him with a dog toy. As it turns out Daisy is Micah's Me-Maw and he is about to fall hard at first sight with the curvy Astrid. Sometimes coming home is exactly what you need to find yourself again....and the path you were meant to take.

Trigger warnings Left at alter Alcoholism / Recovery
Micah is the book that comes after Zane in this series. This author writes a few books that that place in Saddle Creek, so I went off and read related books and didn't finish this series. Now I'm back to it, and wow. Zane's book led me to "Hot Mess Wedding," then I read that whole series, and then Cleary's book led me to the other series that had her brothers. Anyways, Micah is a singer, coming home after a scandal. He meets Astrid and realizes his past is tied to hers. He tells her about it and his recovery. Everything's great until the woman who left him at the alter shows up...
I liked this story of redemption. Not as much as I loved Zane's story, but I did enjoy it. When I read Jess's story, I don't remember anything about the alter or Micah, but that was about 8 or 10 books ago. I look forward to Esther's story.
And now we have Micah's story. When I first read Micah in Ian's story (Hot Mess Wedding) I wasn't too fond of him. I wanted to see him redeem himself a bit for the way he was and his attitude towards Ian's feelings and upset over Cleary finding out about Ian's motives for being in Vegas and the ring. But I personally don't really feel as if he did. I really wanted to read and find out why he would go ahead and marry Jess even though there was no feelings there. Astrid and Micah are as opposite as you can get on the outside. However, there is more to Micah than just a country star and it's refreshing for a woman to look at him and not know who he is. Moreover, while the story was cute, I wish there would've been an epilogue to give us a glimpse in how these two make their relationship work. With Micah no longer in a song writing rut and Astrid finishing up her school I wanted to see them years in the future and how they made everything work for them.
I’ve always believed certain authors can pull novellas off , and others can’t. I can imagine it’s pretty difficult to build the chemistry between two characters in 100 pages or less. While I am not an author and don’t know if thats right. What I do know is, this is an amazing novella. It gives everything you want. Small town girl? Yes. Big bad rockstar? Yes. Set up by a crazy old person? Yes.
Astrid is a geology student currently getting her P.hd. Which is impressive, geology is my least favorite science. She also has a lazy, fluffy, and adorable dog. What more can you want?
Micah is a country superstar who was ditched at the alter by his friend. They came up with this scam to get married and boost their careers. However she ditched him. He flys home at his grandmothers request where he meets this sassy crazy rock lady living with his grandmother.
Micah is a country star struggling with life. When his Me-Maw demands he come home to Saddle Creek, he jumps at the chance. He needs to get away from the spotlight for a bit.
Astrid is staying with Micah's Me-Maw and when he comes busting in the house she attacks him. She has no clue who is at all. When Me-Maw informs them she is going away for a few days, she also leaves Micah with a task.
Astrid thinks they have nothing in common, but they really do. Even though Micah is a star, he just wants the love of a good woman who couldn't care less of his celebrity status. As these two get to know each other and have some fun banter, will they realize they are made for each other?
Another great story in the series. Can't wait for the next one.
Micah is known as the "bad boy" of country music. He's feeling a little lost after his latest publicity stunt and goes back home to visit his Me-Maw at her request. Astrid is a PhD Geology student renting a room in Micah's Me-Maw's house. He doesn't know this so when sneaks in due to the late hour Astrid is on the attack and cute banter ensues. Micah and Astrid bond over nerd stuff and share things with each other that they haven't told other people. There is a small misunderstanding about their relationship which Micah quickly addresses and they lived happily ever after.
I loved that Micah's Me-Maw played matchmaker. I didn't totally buy in to the strength of Astrid's feelings so that's what made me rate this 4-stars.
Yeah, that was Micah, country singer god, who caused all that trouble in Saddle Creek a couple of years ago. He’s back in town, but I assure you, all the goats are safe. Your heart and your rib cage are not, however. Be prepared to laugh til you tinkle, because Astrid, Micah’s last first kiss, is hilarious, in a completely scientific-nerd kind of way. No one does love and laughter and downright FUNNY, better than Kat Baxter. This book has everything, the smiles, the feels, a meddling Mee-Maw and most of all the heart squeezing love between Micah and his Tinkerbelle. I received a complimentary copy of this book and I purchased a copy. 5️⃣🔥 😂 ⭐️ from me!
The latest installment of Kat Baxter's The Bad Boys of Saddle Creek series is the fabulous Micah. Wonderfully written and entertaining, this steamy bad boy / nerdy curvy girl romance is a must-read. Micah, the "bad boy of country music" and geologist / PhD student Astrid are complete opposites, but when he is summoned home by the grandmother who raised him and he meets the gorgeous young woman renting a room from his Me-Maw, he knows his life is going to change. Micah is swoon-worthy while Astrid is so charmingly quirky that you will fall in love with them during their hilarious meet-cute and root for their HEA throughout. A fabulous short romance you won't be able to put down!

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a fabulous small town, bad boy romance. Again Kat Baxter has done it, created a story that completely captured me right from start and I was actually a bit surprised by how much I loved it because I wasn’t really expecting to like Micah as much as I did, he didn’t necessarily leave the best of impression on me after reading Hot Mess Wedding. But he totally won me over in this book. And Astrid was just such a fantastic heroine and I loved that he called her Tinkerbelle. And furthermore how could I not love a story with a matchmaking granny?
Any story involving a meddling sweet grandma gets my vote!!! Micah and Astrid were full of sweetness, heat and humor. Micah is a county music star who returns home at the request of his Me-maw. After breaking into his own house and being assaulted by a very precarious pink dog toy wielding Astrid, his Me-maw tells him she is leaving on a trip and he needs to find her wedding ring while she is gone.
The two team up to find it and magic happens between them. While Micah might be a star and Astrid a Geologist, they realize they have more in common then they thought. Sparks start to fly between them and the rest is history. I loved every second of their story!!!
Starring Astrid “Tinkerbell” Dubois and Micah Shane Stone (Stonefield)
Tropes: Bad Boy Musician, Curvy Girl, Forced Proximity
My heart is going to burst so hard for Micah and Astrid. Holy Meteorite, Batman… how cute are they?! And totally hawt… as always. Thank you, Kat Baxter for always packing the heat with all the feels!!
I love that Micah is a delicious bad boy in need of redemption… and Astrid was so freaken adorbs with all her geology puns. I gotta say it y’all… these two ROCK!! And Micah’s me-maw was such a joy!! Love her too!!
Ugly cry achieved!! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily review it and the comments are 100% my own.
I LOVED this book so much! Micah and Astrid are so cute together. Micah comes back to visit he’s grandma after a failed relationship, and meets Astrid since she is renting a room in his grandmas house. Astrid doesn’t know that he is a famous country singer and treats him like any other guy. However, both of them are attracted to each other and they just need a little push in the right direction to finally accept their feelings. Will they make their relationship work? This book is amazing and the spicy scenes are so good ;) I would totally recommend this book!.

MICAH: A Bad Boy/Nerdy Girl Romance (The Bad Boys of Saddle Creek) by Kat Baxter. My favorite author of short stories.
Micah Stone is a famous country music singer who has run out of steam with his music and needs a break. Being left at the altar in front of the whole world, did not do a thing to help. His reputation as the “Bad Boy of Country Music” did nothing good for his reputation. His beloved grandma who had raised him, wanted him to come home to Saddle Creek. When he got there, he found that his grandma was in a match making mood. Her name was Astrid Dubois, and he did not know at first that she would be the answer to all his problems. But his grandma knew best.
Adorkable.....that one word fits Astrid and also so many of Kat's leading ladies....that she truly is the Queen of Adorkable.
I love Kat's use of nerdy ladies (and sometimes men) and the pop culture references and fandoms she pops into her stories. Adorably fun.
This was a fast paced romance, total Instalove with a reformed "bad boy" musician.
I loved Kat's world building and connecting this couple to her overarching world and other books/characters, even snack-sized she still manages to tie things together and bring another layer to the Saddle Creek world
Oh and Me-Maw! Seriously, those older family members meddling in the happily ever afters, gotta love them. They are also so sassy and sneaky....and brilliant! 😉
I absolutely adore Kat Baxter’s instalove novellas! They hit my reading sweet spot and leave me with a big old smile on my face! 𝗠𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗛 was a super sweet read. I love it when meddling family members are involved and his Me-Maw and her matchmaking ways made sure that her grandson got his happily ever after. Astrid was adorable. I enjoyed her quirky personality. Anyone who talks to themselves the way she does, has a friend in me! Together Micah and Astrid made me smile. I’m giving 𝗠𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗛 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
This was a wonderful romance and yes, insta-everything but I really enjoyed it. Micah, big country music star, gets set up by his Me-Maw to come home...to meet her new roomie, Astrid. She's working on her PhD in geology and is a bit of a nerd so she was surprised when this hot guy was a bit nerdy, too. Their chemistry was hot and he knew, immediately, that she was it. Of course, a fun twist had them connected more than they thought it was a nice way to tie them together on another level. Highly entertaining, I'm looking forward to the next book :D
A delightful, nerdy must read romance! We finally get Micah’s story and it was so worth the wait. His a rockstar that has been in the news but not for the good of his career when his Me-maw calls him home. What he finds when he gets home knocks him on his feet and what happens next was a cute, instant love romance read that didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the adorable storyline with the likable characters with a HEA. I love the start of this new series and can’t wait for more!
