I realized that for someone who teaches microeconomics to math students that I had never really read a price theory text. As it turns out, it is mostly intuition, so its quite fun and easy to read, read this all in one sitting. What's nice is the really strong emphasis on intuition, the authors asks you to reason from graphs at times and this is quite fun to do. The book also touches on qutie a few policy questions which is not the usual way of approaching the subject, I think that works out quite well, there's even discrimination and minimum wage chapters towards the end. I'm not too good at gauging what kind of level general audiences can enjoy, it looked to me like this book can be read by everybody(who has high school math in their pocket), though the author advises it for intermediate level economics. I think I would use this for a first year course.
This book changed my life. I am a second year economics PhD student and this book has given me the economics intuition I lacked coming into this program. This book will teach you, challenge you, and make you belly laugh all at the same time. For first year econ PhD students, you should add this to the top of your list of micro textbooks and treasure it until the day you die.
