I received The End of the Order and had it on my nightstand for over a week before I could open it. Shannon Bailey has titilated me with this story for a few years now, when I first came upon Forever Davids in January of 2009.
This story was about Two Vampire Twins, the first book pitting the good twin David and the evil twin Develyn. Ms Bailey is a writer with a strong talent for mystery and did a wonderful job with the mixture with a paranormal twist. It was enough for me to mark the days for the second installment called Develyns Tale.
Develyns Tale picked up where the first left off, and the reader was treated to the "other side of the story". Our heroine Emily, had a hard time condemning Develyn upon learning more truth. Ms Bailey has left us hints throughout this story that are slowly coming together like dropping bread crumbs for us to follow.
So this weekend I treated myself to re-read the first 2 books before I cracked open the third story, hoping upon hope and wishing that this was not the end of the story....
Ms Bailey did something very unique, when in doubt she went back to the beginning, BEFORE Davids book, and we learned first hand how these brothers lived before the became Immortal, the story of the TURNING, and highlights that were only touched on in the first 2 books that completed the quest.
To go back to my Title for my Review...My Wish has Been Answered...The Third book was strong, a great read, and Yay opened up a multitude of questions for possibly #4?? Ms Bailey has certainly grown as writer through this process as well... Where does Emily, David and Develyn go from here????

We return to the final chapter of Devlyn, David, and Emily's tale. I won't do any spoilers but I will say the ending was satisfactory and unexpected. The story moved very fast, too fast in some instances. Generally I don't mind a quick pace unless we lose details like how the hell did Benjamin grow up? Unless we are to understand that when fed, these vampaires are alive for brief periods. Maybe that's what happened and as readers, we just did not need to know or something.
My three star rating means the story was well written, has interesting characters, and original concepts. I liked this trilogy inspite of the fact there were no adult situations (aka sex) and no fangs on the vamps. I also thought the origin of the curse was conceptually forced. I am not sure that all of the questions from Devlyn's story were wrapped. It still makes no sense why he turned David. Unless, we are readers take a few liberities for our personal closure. For me, I am going with Devlyn's sociopath personality made him do it and just accept that the book does not offer insight that explains what he was trying to accomplish or what he was thinking at the time. I know, too much to ask or expect. All in all, the ending was worth the feeling of being incomplete.
