Nobody's perfect, but what if men ask questions about their faith? Who can answer them? Are the answers reliable enough or another confusing answer will be written in a book? Nobody know how human acts or its limits on believing a certain things. Only faith works all the time, believing without a proof. Many Christian writers were trying to answer simple question, books that written whole-heartedly base on their experience as a human and the same time their spiritual path taken.

In this book, Alton Gansky, will answer questions that are commonly ask by people. Those are question not only ask with curiosity but also questioning the faith of oneself. A Conversation with God: If You Could Ask God Anything What Would It Be?, is a set of questions and answers answered by the author by referencing in biblical text turning God, Jesus and other characters into real life people.

The book is consists of 55 questions, questions gathered from thoughts of other people. But the most outstanding part of the book was how Gansky wrote this book? What I mean is using first-person narrative using God and others as his basis. Whoever suggested that to him, well, that makes him something special? Don't tell me he was a spiritual medium. Writing such delicate piece might cause other confusion, because he was revising things and tracking it in the bible. Whatever people thought of his narrative, for me it was absolutely ridiculous.

Nobody know what is right or wrong at least in the end, somebody answered as with concrete answers that might be true or maybe another hearsay. But remember, answers lies inside us, find the true light and the mighty one will show you the answer.

Alton Gansky in his new book, "A Conversation With God" published by Thomas Nelson gives us an intimate setting where we can ask questions and receive answers from God and other Bible individuals.

Ever go to a party where a famous person was in attendance or a weekend seminar and stay up for the late night visit with the speakers? If so then you know that everyone gathers around the speaker and listens to what that person has to say and then others get to ask their own questions. It is always a fairly intimate time of close gathering, warm conversation and deeper understanding. This is what Alton Gansky has done with his new book. He has put us in a room with God and twenty-seven individuals from the Bible to hear our questions and give us an in-depth answer.

Each section of the book deals with a specific question: God, The Bible, The Future, Pain And Suffering, Jesus, Kingdom Of God, Heaven And Hell, Humanity, Christian Living and Today's World. Ever stood outside at night looked up at the sky and wondered? Of course, all of us have. We were put here for one purpose and that is to know God. God built us with a curiosity so that we would ask questions and then those answers would draw us closer to Him. "A Conversation With God" provides us a lot of the answers that we seek and those answers do indeed draw us closer to the side of God.

"A Conversation With God" is a book that you will need to read slowly. There is no need to rush. We have our questions and the answers are there. Now is the time to sit back and experience truth and let it draw us into the presence of God. You will be glad you did. I recommend it highly.

Did you ever ask questions of God? "A Conversation with God" attempts to answer 55 questions that are common to all people, in the voice of God, Jesus and several biblical characters. In an effort to engage the mind and heart of any person, believer or not, that has questions for God.

The book is sectioned into areas that you might have specific questions about, such as God, the Bible, the future, pain and suffering, Jesus, the kingdom of God, Heaven and hell, humanity, Christian living and today's world. The autorh then attempts to enable the reader to "hear" what God has said on the topic, through answers build on biblical interpretation. Each answer is rooted in the Bible.

The chapters begin with a question, followed by answers from the perspective of God, Jesus and one or more man or woman from the Bible. The answers are taken straight from the scriptures which are referenced in the back of the book. Even if you already spend time "in the Word" on a regular basis, this book can bring a fresh slant on the Word of God and what it means. You will get answrs from several perspectives, all relevant to today. You could build a study based on each question asked and the answers given, using the scriptures referenced liberally throughout the book.

If you have ever asked the hard questions and would like to get answers based in scripture, this book is one you need.

A Conversation with God: If You Could Ask God Any Question, What Would It Be?, written by Alton Gansky, is a book containing questions and their answers that Christians/people may wish they could ask God. Each answer is drawn from the Bible and each topic comes with spiritual references so they can be read directly from the source.

What I like about this book is that while it is great for solo readers, it is also suitable for groups. The book is split up into 55 questions, and each one is written as if answered by God, Jesus, and whomever else who could add any insight (such as Peter, Job, John, Simeon, etc.). The length of the answers to these questions, as well as the discussion that can be derived from them makes each question suitable for a weekly group reading/discussion.

The topics range from talking about hell, heaven, the sexes, forgiveness, sin, the end of the world, and more. Each answer, while written in the first person, is taken from the Bible and I think the way they are written (not in verses, but as if the speaker were having a conversation with the reader) will appeal to nearly everyone. One thing that could prove to be a negative, however, is that because of the way it is written, this could be considered "Gansky's interpretation of what the Bible says" and there may be some out there who would disagree with any of the question and answer sessions. I know that for myself, while I did not disagree with the words he had written, I did disagree with the "tone impression" they were leaving me with. In my mind, the main speaker (God) should be a little more authoritative (yet loving), yet each speaker had the same voice.

A Conversation with God would make a nice gift book, or a companion (not replacement) to the Bible.

Last night, just like every other Monday night, we had Life Group (our version of small groups) at our home. I was so glad I had this book – “A Conversation with God” – to help us with our discussions. You see, my husband has taken on the role of devil’s advocate in our group and asking the really difficult questions that many people are thinking, but most are afraid to ask for fear of coming across as unfaithful or unbelieving.

The questions he asks the group are aimed to really start a discussion and get our brain flowing, but I’m so glad I was able to refer back to A Conversation with God throughout our discussion. So many tough questions are answered in this book as though they were answered by God, Jesus or a number of other important biblical figures. It’s really like reading a transcript of a conversation all of these amazing men are having amongst themselves. The question we discussed last night – Why do we have a “church” that people have to come to in order to learn about God – was really interesting to hear how God might have answered it.

When reading this book, however, it’s important to remember that the answers are based on one man’s (or a group of men’s) interpretation of the Bible and his own opinions are bound to be included in the answers. When seeking answers to the questions that are really in your mind, it is best to seek the advice of your pastor and consult the Bible on your own to draw your own conclusions.

GOD, MAY I ASK YOU A QUESTION?

Have you ever said, “When I get to heaven I have a few questions for God”? I know I have.

If you’ve pondered the why’s of this universe or are wondering about where we go from here, you may find your answers within these pages. Author Alton Gansky in A Conversation With Godanswers 55 questions in the voice of God, Jesus, and biblical characters from Abraham to Urbanus. Topics addressed include God, Bible, The Future, Pain and Suffering, Jesus, Kingdom of God, Heaven and Hell, Humanity, Christian Living, and Today’s World.

Questions from the basic, “God, is Jesus really your son?” to the more complex, “Who really rules this earth, God—You or Satan?” Jesus and God’s response to every question solidifies the oneness of Father and Son. Additional responses from other biblical characters reinforce the accuracy of scripture and Gansky’s responses via God and Jesus.

Although I felt the book was too elementary in scope for a seasoned Christian, it would be an excellent resource to give new believers or non-believers seeking to learn more. The book’s first person perspective lends an intimate feel to a very personal subject, one’s relationship with God. The answers warmth and concern embrace the reader like a hug from a father to his child—a proper illustration of our loving God.

If you could ask God any question, what would it be? Who would you like to answer the question - God, Jesus, other Biblical characters? Some of the questions included are:

God, are we really living in the end times?
How can we believe that You created us?
If You love us, why do we suffer?
Can I lose my salvation?
What is Heaven like?
Why is there disease?
Why are some people rich and others poor?

In A Conversation with God, Alton Gansky gives us a forum to have our questions answered in an intimate setting as with God. Each answer is drawn from the Bible and scripture references are provided for some of the answers. Unfortunately, you have to flip to the back of the book to get the references. I would rather have the references in the reading section to make them more accessible.

Overall, the information presented seemed solid, Biblically. I had trouble wrapping my mind around the responses written in first-person point of view. I believe that God speaking should be in quotes. This is just a personal choice.

My rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

A Conversation with God is a collection of questions and answers book to those questions we humans find baffling and curious of our existence on Earth. The book have various topics: God; Bible; The Future; Pain and Suffering; Jesus; Kingdom of God; Heaven and Hell; Humanity; Christian Living; Today's World. I have read a selection of questions and read these answers to the question given, and it is written in the format of who respond to the questions by this author, imagining himself as 'God' or 'Jesus' or 'Paul'. Some of the answers are expected and some surprising that makes you to reflect on God's existence and His care for His children. Worth recommending reading.

This is the second book I've read in the "A Conversation with God" series [check out my review of A Conversation with God for Women here]. I have a love / hate relationship with these books. I love the concept but hate some of the responses. However, I love the scriptures the author uses to support their response. A good argument requires support. The book poses some questions I'm sure many readers have asked themselves and encourages us to seek the scriptures to find answers to our questions. Overall, a decent read.
