Rentboys, strippers, hookers, and porn stars-these men are making a buck the hard way. This is Sindustry, where a quick fuck is more likely than a romantic kiss. But while they face the harsh light of reality every day, unexpected love finds them in all sorts of crazy ways. Take a look at Sindustry from the outside in, because for these guys, happily ever after is just around the corner.

After I read Sindustry, I was excited to read Sindustry II. I am sorry to say, that even though there were a few good stories in it, it wasn't even close to being as good at the first book. Don't get me wrong, this book still has some good stories, but since I really enjoyed the first one so much, it just didn't measure up to it.
I liked this book. I didn't like it as much as I liked the first Sindustry book, but it was still good. My favorite story was by Fae Sutherland and Margarite Labbe. I am quickly becoming a fan of theirs, because every thing I've read by them I've really liked.
I wish I could just rate their story, but I have to rate the book in general so, I give it a solid 3.
Rent boys, strippers, porn stars all looking for their Cinderella story is hard to get wrong especially with so many talented writers submitting stories. This edition certainly does not fail, but it does not quite live up to its predecessor either. The stories in this edition are all well written, there are no weird POV or author voices, but still many of these stories seem rushed and less fleshed out.
The first story by Connie Bailey had a lot of information crammed into it centered on a closeted mob boss, hitmen and other mobsters that seemed very cramped and disorganized. I am not sure this was the strongest story to start the anthology off with because it set the pace and tone for the others.
Each story has different elements and levels of heat. From sweet to scorching and everything in between. Everyone will find a story in this anthology that will touch their heart and maybe the same one will start their engine, but if not, one of the stories in this group will do that too. If nothing else, hold out for the last story about Angel and Sebastian by Fae Sutherland and Marguerite Labbe ~ despite some confusing POV switching, be sure you have a cold glass of water to help you cool down after you turn the last page.
As far as anthologies go this is another one that I would recommend overall.
I definitely enjoyed this second installment of Sindustry as much as the first, and thought it had a similar mix of stories - from those that were fantastic and moving reads, to those that made me laugh (not always intentionally, I suspect).
Yes, there were some cliched tales where I felt that the writers had gone so far away from their own life experiences that they just didn't know how to write the character's motivations convincingly, resulting in a strange fantasy version of the sex industry. However, there were also those that were truly moving, particularly the contributions from JL Merrow, Zahra Owens and GS Wiley, although there were many other stories that I enjoyed as well.
I think in an anthology of this type there is always a danger that the stories will start to become a bit samey, as every one of them has a romantic resolution, but there was a surprising amount of variety in terms of the characters and their situations. Definitely worth a read if you like the idea of m/m romance with a frisson of seediness.
The Cowboy and the Movie Star, Kate Roman: 4 stars
The Meaning of Perfection, Taylor Lochland: 4 stars
See Me, Feel Me, Zahra Owens: 4.5 stars
Exposure, Marguerite Labbe & Fae Sutherland: 4.5 stars; loved the tension between Angel and Sebastian as their relationship slowly changed from professional model/photographer to that of potential lovers

4.5 stars for Exposure by Marguerite Labbe & Fae Sutherland. 4 Stars for Sunshine by JL Merrow (really liking this author) & Wanting More by Cari Z. Didn't like any of the others very much at all. The first Sindustry was way better imo.
This anthology of shorts was wonderful! I really enjoy stories of strippers, sex workers, porn stars, etc finding their "happily ever after" too. Many of these stories were well written, but they were teases and I just wanted more!
4.5 Stars. There were some really great stories in this anthology, especially towards the end. I was pleased to find out that some of them have sequels, too!
some of the stories are really lacking and don't flow nicely however there are a few great reads if your willing to skim by the less than unimpressed ones that are scattered about
