A Royal Oops

Rate this book
I was expecting divorce papers. Instead, I got a new proposal.

When Leo Cromwell shows up on my doorstep sixteen years after disappearing from my life, the last thing I expect is for him to tell me that we’re married.

Turns out he’s not just my ex-boyfriend from high school. He’s the heir to a small kingdom. A tiny fact he failed to tell me when we were dating.

Just when I’m ready to sign the divorce papers I assume he’s already prepared, Leo instead asks me to be his queen.

If I say no, he’ll be dethroned. If I say yes, I’ll have to leave behind my tiny apartment, my busted car, and the job I was just fired from…

The decision should be easy, but playing queen? Not so much. And not falling for my temporary husband? That might even be harder.

A Royal Oops is a steamy romantic comedy standalone for readers who love forced proximity, second chance relationships, and all the feels. This story was previously published with Kindle Vella.

Prepare to be throughly entertained by this unputdownable steamy read! Becca and Leo are hot! This is humorous, absolutely delicious and will pull upon your heartstrings as you devour these seductive pages.

With a misunderstanding and past hurt standing between their happily-ever-after, our prince is going to have to get onto bended knee to win his wife's heart back. And he's absolutely up to the task!

Becca is tough and has had excellent reason to be so. But accepting her role in Leo's life means more than a title as her feelings unfurl.

Add in meddling family members that are unforgettable (ahem Grammy) and you've got a book that you'll treasure. And isn't the cover drool worthy!?

If standalone second chance romance is your jam, pick this beauty up!

If you're a romcom lover, I highly recommend picking up a copy of A Royal Oops. This cute and steamy second chance love story was just what I needed in between all the thrillers I have been reading. I can never resist the girl meeting a prince storyline - this one was even better because it showed Becca's progress as she was trained for her new role and Leo's determination to help her settle in by bending some rules. Loved loved loved it.

This was such a fun read! Becca and Leao were so cute together. The chemistry, banter, angst, and banter between the two made this a perfect light read. This was a lot like a hallmark romance just with a bit more steam. This was a very enjoyable, funny book that was hard to put down!

My first Harper Reed read and I am in love and can’t wait to check out more of her stuff!! This book has it all! Drama, laughs, and lots of spice (my fave)! 🥵

From the moment I started this book, I fell in love with it! Especially with the witty FMC, Becca! I love her personality and don’t give a crap attitude. Most of her interactions with others, constantly has me giggling!

But poor girl, things are just not going well for her from the get-go. Losing her job, getting into an accident on her way out, AND having a police officer pull you over because you could be potentially ‘distracting’ other drivers with the now busted up car. Plus you have blood oozing out of your forehead.. what could possibly make the day any worse?

A blast from her past maybe? The ex-boyfriend from high school, who also happens to be royalty, shows up with a shocking confession (Introducing our hot MMC, his Royal Highness, Prince Leo 😍)! Turns out, during their school’s performance of Romeo and Juliet, their fake nuptials weren’t so fake.. According to the small country of Doland, they are legally married!

But is that really such a bad thing? Leo may have left Becca high and dry years ago, but can he convince her to help him with the old charm? Old feelings start to resurface and things get complicated. Whatever shall Becca do?

Go grab yourself a copy and find out! 😜

This royal romance is perfectly swoony, funny, steamy, and adventurous. This book is a lighthearted read with a fantastic storyline and tropes. I especially loved the only one bed, marriage of convenience, and, of course, Royalty. The second chance romance is true to the characters, and I love their sassy comments and the forced proximity. Becca and Leo are excellent, and the entire story had me binge-reading while living in fantasy land.

Becca is having the worst day ever, getting fired, a wreck and injured, and getting pulled over. Her luck couldn't get any worse, could it? I love her sassy thought and dark humor.

Leo is a prince, and he may have forgotten to mention that years ago when they dated in high school. But he is back now, and who knows why? Oh, things get pleasantly complicated after that twisted story.

I like this business arrangement. You could call it a marriage of convenience. I love her attitude, and he is omg swoony. Oh, the only one-bed trope makes this more intriguing. Wow, that got steamy relatively fast, and I wonder how that will affect their business arrangement. Leo is quite stubborn, but Becca is a firecracker.

I thought Becca was a firecracker of women. Her granny is one unfiltered old lady who doesn't mind saying and doing exciting things to break the ice. This story has its ups and downs, but I love Becca and Leo's relationship. I've enjoyed the comedy and the outlandish stuff as well. Oh, snap, fantasy land starts to fall apart. I love the grand gesture and the honesty. I love the holiday ending and the found family inclusion. This couldn't have ended more perfectly.

Ok don’t take this the wrong way, but this was a really basic read. You know like the romance movies that are on streaming services where you know there’s a happy ending and it’s light and fluffy and rainbows and stuff. That’s this book!

Fantastic for new romance readers, the angst is like 3 pages and it’s over easily. It’s like a warm hug with a bump. A bad person turns out to be a marshmallow, the steam is just enough to dip your toes in without going into any heavy stuff. There is swearing, kept it real for me lol. After a binge on dark romance this was a perfect palette cleanser and the giggle moments were great!

It’s a small country that speaks English and no accents, ridiculous wedding laws that apparently travel across oceans. Very much a fairy tale. Don’t like a century long law, change it, but no cooking and no laundry or else, sign me up!

The side characters are great fun, I’d love a medical drama about Sicily, undercover royal meets greys anatomy, do it! Back story about Sadie too please. And a granny who sounds like my granny, inappropriate and insane, I want to see her get her Doland lover! I’d read another book in this world :)

This is a second chance romance. The two main characters first met in high school when Leo is an exchange student. Becca doesn't know he is royalty until he disappears from her life and shows up in tabloids.

Leo comes back for her because of some antiquated law in his country that basically says he and Becca accidentally got married in high school while performing in the school play.

Becca agrees to help him, despite having a lot of reservations. And they rapidly rekindle their romance.

Becca is fun, vibrant, sassy, she goes after what she wants and doesn't take any crap from anyone. Leo has a great appreciation for all these qualities and doesn't try to mold her into someone she isn't.

They have great chemistry, nice spice, and they will have you rooting for their happy ending right from the start.

I did feel like the resolution to the drama was a little too quick and not nearly as big of a deal as it seemed like it would have been...but it didn't detract from my love of the story!

After an awful day, Becca answers the door to see Leo standing before her. The same Leo, who 16 years before she fell in love with, never once revealing that he was the prince of a small country and then promptly leaving without a word. Leo informs her that 16 years ago, she legally (although accidetally) married him when she was Juliet to his Romeo in the school play and she is now needed to return with him to his country as the queen. In exchange for some financial help, Becca agrees to return to Leo’s country temporarily until he can figure out a way to get them out of this jam. Ms. Reed does a great job writing about absurd and funny situations as this heroine begins her journey as a royal. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to be Becca, but I can clearly see (and laugh at) how she reacts to each of the situations that she faces. This is a sweet story about how love the second time around can be worth the time, even if it's with the prince!!!

This booked had me laughing from start to finish - the banter between Leo and Becca was top tier, the handsy grandma had me rolling.. I couldn’t put it down!

Leo was Becca’s first love.. he left her with no explanation and shows up 15 years later stating they are married and he needs her help! What a whirlwind that was - she handled it better than I would. Of course her feelings for him were buried deep.. she didn’t want to be hurt again. She keeps him at arms length until that’s not possibly anymore.

Of course they weren’t acting like their marriage was real at first.. but let me just state the term “my wife” was used 38 times.. and a lot of those were during some spicy spice.

I do feel like the drama between Leo and Gerard could have been played out a little differently. We see very little interactions between the two.

I am however happy with the ending for Leo and Becca! Such a fun read!

This book is light, fluffy and oh so sweet! There is very little angst except for the past hurts between the two main characters and most of that was just lack of communication and keeping secrets. The marriage that occurred when their two play characters were "married" by someone who is ordained to perform marriage is considered a legal marriage in the country where Leo is soon to be king. It is believed that the marriage will make it so that there will be no challenge to him taking over the throne. Of course, he has to get Becca to buy in. Since she's recently lost her job and needs some way to provide for herself, Becca agrees to go along with his plan for a while, with her list of rules in place. The more time they spend together, though, the more she is tempted to break those rules.

I loved both of these characters but especially Leo. If he did come to get Becca just to get the crown, he certainly didn't last long in just making this a business decision. The number of times he said "my wife" I mean, he obviously was way in with Becca before I think even he realized it. Becca could be sassy and there were a few places it would have been nice to see her step up for herself, but she's just so sweet and laid back.

This was like a grown up version of Princess Diaries and it made me feel giddy inside. Take the normal girl and sticking her in the Royal life, and add some smutty scenes. A second chance romance, fake dating and a he falls first storyline, it can’t help but make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The problems for the couple weren’t huge obstacles, but was still a good story.

The last thing Becca expected when she opened her door was to find her ex boyfriend from high school on the other side. He left without a word and conveniently forgot to tell her that he was a real life prince. And now he’s telling her that they accidentally got married back in the day. Instead of divorce papers, he wants her to come back to his country with her. But for all that they tell themselves that this is just a business transaction, their hearts are telling them something different.

This book is such a funny read. Leo and Becca are such a fun couple. I loved the whole oops that they are accidentally married part. The premise is super unrealistic but funny. I peed my pants laughing at parts of this book. Leo is a sweetie. I like that he genuinely cares for Becca. Even though he totally intends for her to be his queen as transaction, you can see he still has feelings for her. Becca was a fun character but I liked Leo more. Becca could have just had some of her stuff together a bit more. Her sweetness though made me understand why Leo fell for her. This book is EXTREMELY spicy. The sex scenes are very well written. I like the chemistry and the pacing. The romance also is done really well. The two characters take time to get to know each other before jumping into the sack. Really funny book. Go check out other books by this author.

Trope(s):
✔️ Forced Proximity
✔️ Second Chance
✔️ Royal Romance

Poor Becca has been through the wringer. First she loses her job, then her car get hit and the driver leaves, and lastly the guy she dated for a while in high school comes back after leaving her 16 years ago without a goodbye. Have I mentioned this all happened on the same day. And that said ex boyfriend is the future king of a country? Oh and on top of that apparently they are married and he needs her to come back to his country with him so that he can be crowned king otherwise his evil cousin takes over the throne. No pressure right.

Let me just say my heart broke for Becca and Leo could have been a little less of an a-hole at the beginning since he was the one asking her for a favor. Overall I enjoyed this book. Loved Sadie and granny!

After losing her job and her car giving up the ghost, being suddenly thrust into a life of Pomp and circumstance isn’t what Becca had in mind. But when her now ex, high school sweetheart, Leo, comes knocking and reveals he’ll lose the throne of his small European country unless Becca becomes his Queen, how can she say no? Leo’s prepared to use every tool at his disposal to rekindle this romance and one encounter with Becca confirms that the passionate feelings they once had for each other never truly died. Having picked up the pieces of her heart all those years ago- is Becca willing to take a second chance on Leo and love?

The characters are well written, relatable without being overbearing. The steamy scenes are fantastic, balanced with emotional grounding, lots of laughter, good plot and high stakes, with the underlying tread of will-they or won’t-they, that keeps you reading.

Becca and Leo are so easy to root for!

After being ripped apart when neither of them wanted to be in high school, they are thrown back together because of a technicality with the law in Leo’s country making them husband and wife.

Becca is rightfully bitter about the way their relationship ended but given the state of her life, she doesn’t have much choice but to help Leo ascend the throne and hope the shields she’s built around her heart are strong enough to protect her from another heartbreak.

Leo doesn’t make it easy on her from the start. He wants nothing more than to keep Becca in his life even after they take down his meddling cousin.

The pacing of this story was spot on and the tension that builds up is is like dynamite when it explodes between these two!

This is all in one book :
Laughter ✔️                  Independent  Lady ✔️
A little stream ✔️        Handsome Prince ✔️
Rekindled Love ✔️        A Castle ✔️
Monarchy Drama ✔️

Becca and Leo were high school sweethearts. They were each others first in many ways. Love was in the air until he disappeared without a goodbye. Becca was heartbroken and vowed never to love again.
Fast forward about 15 years. She lost her job, her car gets , and gets a surprise visit from Leo. When he tells her they were actually married as teens when they were in Shakespeare play, just adds to her already crappy day.
He needs her help and must return to his kingdom to become his future queen so he can take over as king.  After much debate and her bestie encouraging, she goes, but requests ( demands really) certain conditions.   You will have to read the rest to see their very  interesting journey.
Read in less than a day it was that good.

This is an interesting book for sure! I don't usually read books with royalty, but I'm trying to widen the tropes I like. This is a very interesting second chance romance.

There is definitely spice, a little intrigue as well. Plenty of funny moments too. Leo wants to do what's best for his country. Becca is still guarding herself from the heartbreak Leo caused 16 years earlier.

I like that Becca stands up to Leo and gives him a hard time. She isn't making this easy on him, as he wanted her to uproot her life.

Cute, funny, with some spice!

I received an ARC of this book to share my honest opinion. All opinions are my own.

POV: Dual
Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

Royal Oops gave me Princess Diaries vibes, but if Princess Diaries were rated R and instead of finding out she’s the daughter of a king, she finds out she’s a wife to a future king! Sure, their story isn’t likely but that’s what makes it such a fun read.

Becca and Leo are both great characters and I related to Becca from the very beginning, but I can see where she’s not for everyone, which makes the way Leo loves her for who she is even better!

This is a light, high school sweetheart/second chance romance with a funny cast of characters that includes a royal twist!

A Laugh Out Loud book with Heart!!

This book was so much fun to read!!! While I loved Leo and Becca, it was Becca's granny who stole the show! That woman had me rolling with laughter! She was a riot!! Anyway, I loved this story and watching both Leo and Becca grow. They had a love but then it was ripped from them..sixteen years later, fate and a weird law brings them back to together for a second chance. Becca,of course has her walls up and wants to keep Leo at a distance but the more they spend together, they fall down and the attraction is acted on. These two have serious chemistry and make an incredible team!! This book is seriously the best if you want sweet and hilarious all wrapped up into one book!!

“Okay so the story at first wasn’t at all what I expected, both Becca and Leo were like kids trying to be adults. I’m gonna be honest and confess that I skipped a few chapters until the story was more interesting. With royalty theme books you just love or hate them lol and this case weirdly was a mix. Totally understand Leo way of thinking and why he was like that but still I couldn’t completely fall for him. As for Becca, she was dumb almost all the story lol. You just don’t accept the guy whose supposedly broke your heart and ruined you for other guys just because there might be still something there, really? No self love at all but I won’t say more. It was funny not gonna deny that.”

A Royal Oops

The author presented interesting characters and many amusing situations and dialogue. I do wish to insert that a lot of the curse words were distracting and unnecessary to the storyline. It was easily established that these Americans were very common folks . Apparently, the author feels the need to present them as crude. The character of the grandmother was funny but overdone. I did love the characters of Becca and Leo and was so glad for their happy ending. I think the reveal of Nicholas's bad deeds needs so.e work. I would recommend this book to all who like royal romance and don't mind the exaggerated bad language.

Fun & amusing

This was a terrific book! I loved the idea of Leo returning for Becca, his first love. The thing I loved the most about this story was how wonderful most of the characters were. I enjoyed learning how a king and queen could be fun, just like regular people. I thought it was great how Leo's parents were so warm, welcoming, and understanding. I really liked Sicily and also Becca's best friend. And most of all, I loved how Leo was willing to stand up for Becca and not let her go! This was a great book, and anyone who loves stories about royals should definitely buy this book!

for the amount of romances i've read, this one wasn't a favorite of mine but this is PERFECT if you're just starting out in reading romance!! not a lot of angst and tension or a lot of spice scenes!

the writing reminded me of Meghan Quinn's, SO funny!! i don't read a lot of royalty romance so this was so energizing. great plot line, i hope there's more in the series (specifically Sicily bc i LOVEDDD her!!!) 😝

second chance, marriage of convenience, fake dating (or marriage), forced proximity, prince x american, funny banter!

I need a movie based on this book! 😍

This book is total Hallmark material; I can see myself in bed, Christmas time, watching this movie, while drinking some hot cocoa... yes, I need it!!! 🤩
Becca and Leo are perfect!... OK, I have to admit I wanted to puch him at the beginning, but he did redeem himself 🥵
I enjoyed the way Becca turned his life upside down, I laughed so hard! 😂
Oh but that HEA totally stole my heart! 🥰
I love, love, love this book... amazing job Harper! ❤️

I absolutely LOVED IT! It was so dreamy, yet the characters very relatable and gave me total Princess Diaries or The Prince and Me vibes (but the adult, steamy version). I enjoyed watching Becca embrace and grow into her new role without sacrificing herself in the process. The banter and wit was great between Becca and Leo and Becca’s grandma is hysterical. The book hangover was something fierce, I had so much trouble starting something else afterwards because I just couldn’t get these characters out of my head. If you love swoony, schmexy romcoms, this is a must read!

Harper Reed is a brilliant writer, and “A Royal Oops” was no exception!!! I thought Leo and Becca’s second chance love story was utterly and completely amazing. Even though their marriage was supposed to be fake at first, I could instantly see the sparks between them. Leo was the swooniest hero, and I loved how devoted he was to his kingdom, his people, and most especially, to his wife. Becca was really fun to read about because she was unapologetically herself; I loved her sassy side. 5 freaking stars!!!

This was such a cute rom com book. I don’t think I have ever laughed as much as I did while reading this book. What starts out as a deal to help out each other quickly turns out to be more even while Becca and Leo still fight the reconnection. All of the character building and world building really made it so easy to get enveloped in the story. Also can I say I love Becca’s grandma and wanted this to be longer just to have more of her and all the other characters also. This was a first for me by this author but definitely won’t be last, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Loved it 🥰 😂

I absolutely loved this book, Harper Reed did a fantastic job. I fell in love with the characters, even if I wished Leo would have fallen down the stairs in the beginning🤷‍♀️ Let’s just say that he definitely redeemed himself😉 Becca had me with her dark humor and her potty mouth. The chemistry between the two was perfect and the family dynamic just helped build the story. I want to grow up to be Becca’s grandmother Lydia😂. This was such a fun laugh out loud book. I can’t wait to see what Harper comes up with next.

Such a cute story! Becca and Leo's chemistry is off the charts, and they are so adorable together, while fighting their attraction to each other that has returned full force with Leo coming back into Bella's life. There are some amazing secondary characters, like Grammy, and the king and queen, and numerous others, which make this an even funnier and quirkier read that kept me laughing and swooning over the sweet moments. Amazing read, loved it!

I love. A good romcom. Anything that can make me laugh is a win in my book.

This is a new to me author and I was not disappointed.

I loved the humor in this one. The two main characters were brought back together after 16 years and Leo really had to prove himself.

I loved the banter and the side characters almost as much as I loved the main characters.

This was such a fun read. Highly recommend.
