Crowne Legacy #7

To Hollis and Obey

Rate this book

What place does fear have in falling in love?

HOLLIS

In my family, I wear a lot of different hats all centered around the same role. Comedian. Life of the party. The jokester. Everyone’s favorite fool when I wasn’t getting on their last nerve. But without me, my family wouldn’t be the empire we are today. As one of the best hackers in the country, I’m the one that uncovers any secrets our enemies are hiding, no matter how big or small. My entire life, I’ve been able to hack my way ahead of any situation. Yet, somehow I didn’t see her coming.

CECE
I hated him. Simple as that. I’m the queen of gore and guts, while this obnoxious, mouthpiece of a man, gags at the tiniest drop of blood. Everyone thinks he’s hilarious, but I’m not so easily amused. I wasn’t born to be a killer, but my circumstances made me this way. Men made me this way. So I turned myself into someone to be feared. For immature jerks like Hollis Crowne, I’d always be the siren in their dreams, lulling them to sleep while ultimately plotting their doom. But deep down, I wonder if he’s the siren of mine.

Please Note: To Hollis and Obey is a sexy enemies to lovers story that contains humor, crime and profanity.

For years, these adopted siblings have lived by the code, Know Thy Enemy. However, what seems too good to be true usually is. Some say mafia. They say family. Can they trust their allies and defend the Crowne legacy? Or will they realize that loyalty, love, and honor are luxuries they can't afford?

Wow! So far, this is the last book in the Crowne Series, and I need more. There are 3 additional books that seem to be coming to audible, but the date is unknown. Hollis and CeCe are a mess. A beautiful mess. I loved this book! Queenie is just a true OG!

WOW! Where do I even begin?!? First off Hollis is still a damn fool lol but I will say that I forgot what a genius he was and that he is the wizard hacker behind the Crowne Family. Without him, they won't be successful. And then there is CeCe the "Dick Slayer" LMAO! GIRL!! I didn't put two and two together so that these two would end up falling for each other! I thought Cece was going to end up with Creed! Creed is very much still rogue and off the grid! :( Cece and Hollis are teamed up together to get information on an auction happening at the Chicago Art Institute with a few other Crownes and from there the story gets so chaotic! With one small misstep, the cover is blown and the two end up in a different country Cece and Hollis have to team together to make it back to their family. While on their journey the attraction builds and both realize they have a pull on the other it isn't revealed until later that these two also have more in common than not. With his heart on the line Hollis has to make some even more difficult decisions because although he has fallen for Cece, not everything is what it seems! That twist shocked me! I'm still baffled, to be honest! I felt for my girl Cece because the identity crisis she was experiencing throughout this book was a lot! Good vs evil in so many aspects of her life! The comedic relief in the banter between Hollis and Cece (tbh Hollis and anybody lol) was needed due to the serious matter of life-or-death situations happening around them. Also, don't let the sexual fluidity of Hollis fool you that man is hetero and an alpha male! Cece knew her place when he took control and I was here for it! The sparkly suits and colorful wardrobe for Hollis take on a whole new meaning to me after reading this book. He really isn't to be played with, don't let the jokes fool you! Side stories are still going strong including Doc coming back into the fold and Dutchess expressing her feelings but still not revealing everything. Also, the surprise stories with Yasmin (Hollis's Mexican boothang) and Smitty were wild but I was here for it lol! This book lived up to the Crowne expectation of answering some questions but also bringing more up! I can't wait for the next book and I'm predicting it will be Doc!
Definitely recommend this book and series!

I love the Crowne family!! I've been waiting on Hollis' story and it did not disappoint. Several twists and turns that kelp me guessing. Some I NEVER saw coming. This is one of those series I can see me reading again. I'm guessing Doc's story is next but I really need Creed to be ok and get a book.

First! That damn Hollis! I knew he would make me laugh in his story! 🤣 Wow.. amazing book! Every time I think I knew about CeCe something else unfolded. She had a whole life that was taken away from her so young. I was prepared to not like how CeCe was moving with Hollis then more information came out and made you feel for her. This series just keeps getting better with each Crowne member. This is book 7 and I am permanently locked in. Oh and Smitty and Queenie???? Lord 😩

I was so excited about Hollis book because he is one of my favorite Crown. He was so funny throughout this book and I love his relationship with CECE. CECE kept Hollis on his toes and I love the sexual chemistry between the two character. I listen to the audiobook version of this book and I really loved the narration. I am looking forward to reading more book in this series.

This book was goofy AF and I loved it. Hollis has always been the aloof tech guy in the Crowne family. He's happy sitting on the sidelines. The one ally of the family that he's always been weary of is CeCe, aka the D!ck Slayer, who is known for her knife skills during battle.

They're tasked to work together on an undercover mission for the family's cause (breaking down undercover s#x trafficking), when something goes wrong. While they're both taken, they grow closer...and even though the situation should be tense, I found myself smiling and giggling because of how this author wrote humor into some scenes. Hollis is straight up with CeCe about what he thinks of her knife skills and CeCe loves goading him. Their chemistry hits quick and yet is easy to root for. They've both always been outcasts of sorts so their love makes sense.

Things eventually go awry, and there's some big tension that made my stomach hurt with all the angst, but in the end these two figure it out.

I loved the laughs and the big feels this book gave me.

Laugh through my pain
Hollis is by far the most entertaining member of the Crowne family! And there was just enough hilarity in his story to balance out the heavy stuff that he and CeCe had to endure at the hands of some pretty toxic individuals! Sean Crisden and Wesleigh Siobhan were spectacular as per usual in the audiobook version. But whew chile, keeping up with all the characters as this series continues makes me grateful that the author gets right down to business in each installment!

USA today best selling author Sherelle Green continues the gritty Crowne series with To Hollis and Obey. Hollis is known as the comedian who sometime’s irks other family members. In actuality, he’s the tech genius of the family who can hack into any system, and sometimes refers to himself as the “dumb genius”. He is hilarious. CeCe “Cookie Cutter” Brown is the bane of his existence. Her chestnut skin is the only thing soft on her since she is always focused and suspicious.

To Hollis’ chagrin, he needs to work on a mission with CeCe at a private auction. He sees CeCe in a new light and slips up and calls her sexy. Ultimately, things go wrong and the pair end of fighting for their lives. We learn that Hollis can hold his own with a gun when he needs to. As time passes, they become sexually frustrated when they aren’t in danger. Hollis doesn’t mince words and adrenaline and explosive chemistry leads to some serious heat. When CeCe least expects it, her body tingles in anticipation.

As the story progressed, I couldn’t see how Ms. Green would resolve the conflict, but it is written in a way that makes sense. There are a lot of twists and turns that round out this interesting story. The bonus scenes are also very entertaining. To Hollis and Obey is a sexy enemies to lovers story, with a lot of grit, and I highly recommend this continuation of the series.

if you like romance novel, this book doesn’t disappoint

This book not what I expected but I gave 5 ⭐️ bc author is a great writer, but it’s a bit downgrade from the other books to me and I hate that bc Hollis is my favorite out of the 8. This book was very predictable and strictly a romance novel. There’s no drama or actions for it to be in the Mafia category. It was too soft written to be Mafia. To me it’s just a love story. I knew where author was going with this story when CeCe came into the storyline a few books back. I personally think CeCe should’ve been eliminated bc of her ultimate betrayal. I can’t accept what she did bc a lot of men lost their lives trying to save her and she was the one to put all that into motion. She had a choice and she chose against the Crowne family. Even when she was caught she still pledge loyalty to her fake dad. I think she should’ve been killed. Hollis deserved a better woman for his happily ever after. I only read this book bc I just love Hollis character. He’s so hilarious. I’m glad we were able to get a peek at his past and parents. But anyway, this was a really well written book. I love how the book continues to embrace the close knit family even tho they aren’t biological connected. Queenie is something else. Stan and Duchess are awesome. And I’m finally glad to meet Doc aka Remy.

WHY IS IT THAT WESLEIGH SIOBHAN SOUNDS BETTER NARRATING FOR THE CHARACTER OF HOLLIS HENNESSY CROWNE THAN HER MALE COUNTERPART SEAN CRISDEN???!??????????!
WESLEIGH'S VOICE FOR HOLLIS HENNESSY CROWNE (WHOM I LOVE SECOND ONLY TO HIS BROTHER SAINT CROWNE!) MAKE HOLLIS SOUND LIKE A GROWN SEXY MAN. WHILE SEAN'S VOICE FOR HOLLIS MAKES HIM SOUND STRAIGHT UP LIKE A CLOWN!
WORD IS BOND, I JUST CANNOT FIND MY SECOND FAVORITE CROWNE BROTHER:HOLLIS ATTRACTIVE IN HIS OWN BOOK WITH SEAN CRISDEN VOICING HIM! IT'S ODD & EXTREMELY UNUSUAL WHEN A FEMALE NARRATOR: WESLEIGH'S VOICE FOR HOLLIS MADE ME WANT HOLLIS CROWNE MORE THAN THE MALE NARRATOR'S VOICE FOR THE SAME CHARACTER HAD!
PERHAPS, WESLEIGH SIOBHAN SHOULD HAVE NARRATED THIS ONE BY HERSELF LIKE SHE HAD FOR "ISAIAH ZAY BROUSSARD"IN "HAPPINESS IN JERSEY"BOOK!
Now that I'D gotten THAT OFF MY CHEST, I'll quickly say that though I loooooovvvvveeed HOLLIS HENNESSEY CROWNE's Character, I DID NOT LIKE "COOKIE CUTTER'/ CC AS HIS LOVE INTEREST, & WISHED THAT THE AUTHOR WOULD HAVE FOUND HOLLIS SOMEONE ELSE TO WIFE UP.
I will say that I had enjoyed this book BETTER THAN THE ONE THAT HAD Preceded it.
It's my SECOND FAV in the CROWNE LEGACY Series.
Instead of going into Greater DETAIL, I'll end with that.

OH MY!

It’s always exciting to visit the Crowne family. Ms. Green I must say this visit definitely was full of surprises . Hollis was in rare form. Being a Crowne, it was understood that he knew how to handle himself when and if he had to face danger. However everyone knew he consider himself a Lover and not a fighter.
Well the book brought out a totally different side of Hollis, not only in the way he functioned in the face of danger but most surprising of all was the fact the he found himself attracted
To CeCe , AKA “ The cookie cutter” The two together were hilarious and scary.

My heart went out to both of them as they discovered things about each others past. The bullying Hollis experienced as as a young military recruit an my heart broke for CECE as she describe what she experienced as a young abused wife. I don’t want to spoil it for future readers so I’ll simply say read the book it’s good.

My Question is will Creed ever return home?

I am a BIG fan of the Crowne Legacy Series and this one didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed learning more about Hollis and his backstory made him all the more interesting. I laughed aloud quite a few times reading this because he's hilarious and I kinda love his interactions towards Cece.

I think I imagined Cece differently when reading the other books, considering her profession, but this installation gave me new eyes for her and I really enjoyed the nuance of her background. It's easy to feel empathy for her as a character and you wanted to see them together.

Even how their stories connected didn't feel as far-fetched and cheesy as it would've with a lesser story. It was totally plausible and added to their dynamic in an interesting way.

This was a quick read and I honestly just wish that the story was a little longer and we got more on them working thru the betrayal before they were all patched up again. But I couldn't even be mad at how it was wrapped up.

I knew that Hollis was going to be a fool and that there would be a number of funny moments. I also knew CeCe was going to be his "one".

This book showed the other side of Hollis' character that would occasionally show its face. Betrayal occurred, secrets were uncovered, and there were totally unexpected twists and turns all over the place.

Wesleigh Siobhan has always been one of my go to narrators. Sean Crisden has shown out, not only in this book, but this series. He did that thang. Sherwood Green did hers as well. She gave her narrators something to work with regarding the Crowne series.

Another thing I am loving about this series is I get an epilogue and one or two bonus scenes. I think this is the last audiobook. This series has been so good that I will probably knock out the next books and go back to listen when the audio books come out.

Hollis and Cece

I loved this book from beginning to end and the extra scenes were just as amazing as the rest of the story. Hollis always provides comedy and jokes and a light to serious situations but he is about his business. I loved the banter between Hollis and Cece and their chemistry was explosive. This book was filled with plot twists that I didn’t see coming and made me want more. The ever elusive Doc also appeared in this story and I was shocked by Doc’s appearance, but it was so necessary. This story is a mafia romance, but it should also be a comedy because I laughed so hard throughout multiple scenes in this book. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series and I can’t wait to see which Crowne is up next.

Another Great Crowne Book!!!

When I found out that Hollis' book was next in the Crowne series, I never would have guessed that CeCe was going to be his love interest. I enjoyed the banter and humor between them especially the way CeCe would deliberately cause Hollis to freak out. I also literally laughed out loud when Krew got in the mix.😂 Hollis was his usual crazy self in some parts of the book but we also got to see a more complex Hollis in other parts. The way that Ms. Green brought Hollis and CeCe's story full circle was so masterfully written that we never saw that coming. This was another great book in the Crowne series and I can't wait for the next one.

Can't judge a book by it's cover

Hollis was the fun loving jokester of the clan but he was just as dangerous as the rest but just hid it very well. Cece thought she knew him but after the kidnapping she learned she had Hollis all wrong. Now that plot twist of her being the op, being kidnapped with Hollis and being sold to her exes was a lot to take in which made you realize that her "dad" was a piece of work. However I am glad that it did end with a HEA since the family took enough blows.

Overwhelmed

Honestly, I haven't read a “Crowne’ related story since 2022. “To Hollis and Obey: A Mafia Romance (Crowne Legacy - Book 7)” I was more overwhelmed than I actually enjoyed a great read. ..it was mediocre 3.5 rating from me. Nevertheless, there were numerous comedic moments and even more salacious details surrounding Crowne’s, siblings and or associates. Unfortunately, maybe it's been too long but I couldn't relate to Hollis & CeCe character’s their sexspades, banter & drama. …and Dutches & Bru 🥴‼️I’ve moved on🤷🏾‍♀️‼️

The unexpected

Well Hollis is the one you least expect to be other than a nerd. His sex appeal will make you want to sample what he is offering. I knew he had some of the same skills as his siblings but he was always being scary and helpless at times. I love the bold way he showed his dominance and how he could pleasure his woman. Ce Ce is a strong woman who went through some rough periods but she overcame them and the way she handled other women problems Wow. The family has so many enemies but they always come out on top.

Hollis, Hollis, Hollis. When he fell, he didn't realize he would fall so hard. CeCe was a tough one but she could not deny the attraction. I really enjoyed reading their journey, even though there are twists, betrayal and secrets. Sherelle Green does a great job weaving the story and delving more into the "Jokester" and the "Cookie Cutter" I laughed throughout this book. Don't sleep on Hollis.

Whew! This honestly wasn't what I was expecting from Hollis's story, but it did not disappoint. This story had layers. For Hollis to be the jokester of the Crowne family, he has a serious, dangerous, and deep side. All it took was going through a heroining experience to bring that side out. Hollis definitely met his match with CeCe. Loved their back story. They are truly fated. Definitely enjoyed this story!

Comedy on paper

This book had me crying laughing out loud (LOL) with ppl looking at me with my head in my tablet. Hollis is a fool but gosh I love him. I love how the memories of their youth brought them back to their connection. I love how each book gives updates on the others and gives a peep of what's to come. I'm a series book junkie so I can't wait for the next release.
PS. Glitter really would be a cute middle name

Those Crownes!

Hollis was a bit different from his sub, inks on the surface but once you pealed back the layers….he was a Crowne. Cece….the life she experienced created the woman she became. They are both so different but yet so much alike. Once they realized the attraction, they couldn’t keep their hands off one another.

A good Crowne story and I’m sure there are more to come!

Hollis + CeCe

If this story was nothing else, it was hilarious. Hollis was so childish and hilarious, I could not take it. I actually loved his story. I thought the contrast of him being immature and also extremely smart was refreshing and made the story even more hilarious.

Enemies to lovers.

Cece was bad ass too but loyal to the wrong people. I hope I get to read more about them in other stories

Great read

Great read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Hollis and Cece are both colorful characters, which makes the a strange complicated match. This was an action filled book. There was many secrets and discoveries in the story. The Crowne family and their associates all have intriguing back stories.

I loved the characters ability to find joy in it all

The over the top antics and loud clothing are a part of the story that explains so much about Hollis Crowne exudes joy even in the midst of chaos. Cece unknowingly finds herself reminded to seek joy through your struggles and that joy doesn’t have to come in the form of hurting others ( all be it deserved)

I enjoyed reading this book about Hollis, (Hennessey) and Cierra, (CeCe). The chemistry between these two was so funny! You knew that something was bound to happen between them. I laughed so hard at the ending of this book that I had tears coming down my face! Kudos to Sherelle Green with this book! I highly recommend this book/series!

hollis and CiCi's story. Hollis is funny asf. He had me cracking up. CiCi is known as the D*ck Slayer and she means that shit literally. these two get kidnapped together and as they fight for their lives, their chemistry is out of this world. CiCi's story is tragic. not sure how these two got past all those hurdles but somehow they did to reach their hea.
