Is it wrong that I want to be his shadow? Is it wrong that I want to breathe the same air as he does, walk the same streets he does, think the same thoughts?
It is wrong to love a broken demon more than life itself?

One fateful day brought him into my life. It brought those demonic eyes who haunt my every dream, and no matter what I tell myself, I can’t stay away.
I want more.
I need more.
I’ll be anything for him .

Until he takes me to hell and back…
Until my life as I know it seizes to exist.
He created me. He created The Black Swan.

I really believe that the writing and the plot of this book gave me a brain aneurysm because what the fuck??? I’m sure the trope was supposed to be good girl x bad boy but its written in the style of child x pedophile/groomer (🤢🙅‍♀️🤢)

Julius is so fucking possessive (not in a good way) that he might as well piss on Katerina. The whole oh i’m so inexperienced🥺🥺🥺🥺 was not giving what it was supposed to give. Katerina’s whole existence gave me secondhand embarrassment like girl GET IT TOGETHER!!!!

This book is cunty asf (derogatory).

Maybe some things are best left in the drafts, yeah?

"My Broken Demon," the first book in the Demons of New York series. Trust me, it hits you right in the feels from the very start.

Seriously, those first few chapters will have you experiencing all the emotions. Julias, the ultimate bad boy, is such a mysterious and intriguing character. You can't help but root for him, you know? And the connection between him and Kate? Fiery and intense.

What I loved is how the story taps into those first love feelings we've all experienced. Kate's special bond with Julias is so relatable. But man, it's tough seeing her go through the aftermath of him leaving. On the flip side, witnessing her growth and inner strength is empowering.

Let me tell you, Ian's character stole my heart. I wish there were more of him, but hey, I'm pumped that Lexi's story is up next. Can't wait for that!

Trust me, this is a must-read. It easily gets a solid 4.5 ⭐️ rating from me.

This is my first time reading Daisy Thorn, and I’m so glad I did! This book held my attention the entire time and it was a real page turner- I love her writing style and cannot wait for more!

Just to give you a heads-up, you'll encounter insta love, second chance vibes, loads of angst, a bad boy biker/dancer as the male main character, an age gap, a virgin female main character, and a captivating dancer, and a New York setting.

Oh, and let's not forget the spiciness factor: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Daisy!!!!! Ahhhh! I inhaled and consumed this book so fast and hard it’s not funny 😂

This book was devoured within 24 hours! I LIVE for these tropes and triggers! And, Julius Winters. GAAAHHH LEE! That man can order me around and do whatever the hell he wants to me!

For sure the feminist in me hibernated while I read this book.

Sweet little Katerina aka Kate, locks eyes with a dangerous man, Julius Winters and hasn’t been able to think about anything else other than him.

Julius is exactly as the title says. Broken and a demon.
I’m irrevocably obsessed with Julius winter, just as much as he’s obsessed with Kate. I love love love broken, toxic, selfish af fictional men 😩

This is the first book of The Demons of New York Series!

Triggers (please read all trigger warnings before reading this book) the MMC is very morally grey!

Tropes:
•Age gap romance
•Theater (ballet)
•Morally grey
•Virgin Heroine
•The sneaky sneaks 🤭
•Revenge
•Forced Proximity AFFFFFF
•Dark/Taboo
•Tortured Past

A toxic, life altering, all-consuming love that leaves you positive that without it Julius and Katerina would live their entire lives only halfway because they, without a doubt, bring out the best in each other.
Katerina has always been the good girl, followed the rules, pleased her parents, never stepped even a toe out of line. Until Julius catches her attention and she captures his. Their connection is instant, they can’t get enough of each other, and Katerina is completely at his mercy and command and totally in love. Until he leaves. Just walks away like she never mattered at all. Julius turned her world to darkness, dragged her through hell, and then just appears wanting to step right back into her life. But being without Julius has taught her a few things and she’s no longer his light, his good girl. She’s got demons of her own and she’s not letting Julius ruin everything she’s built for herself. But Julius has never had anything worth fighting for…until her.
This is one of those it has to be toxic, it has to be too much, and it has to be all or nothing romance’s because Julius and Katerina can’t be anything less. It’s first love, second chances, finding your true self, and letting people in. Love how falling in love fundamentally changes them both, then they lose it and find even more of themselves and their own strength before they come back together in a better and stronger way.

Wow this book was a wild ride and I loved it so much! It gave us insta love, age gap, bad boy/good girl vibes along with a whole lot of angst and spice.

Julius is tortured by his past and doesn’t believe he’s worthy of being loved or capable of loving someone. When he meets Katerina, he is thrown by the immediate feelings he experiences. He becomes completely obsessed and possessive towards her and at time does some very questionable things that had me wanting to slap him. However despite all of these things, I was rooting for him because beneath the facade, he was a broken man who had finally found someone worth caring about.

There is a lot of heartbreak and emotion in this. Katerina is young, sheltered and naive and her story pulled at my heart strings. She falls for the bad boy who gives her a taste of something exciting, but it’s intense and toxic at times. Daisy did a fantastic job writing her character, because as much as there were times I wanted to shake her, the growth we saw from her was amazing.

The deep connection these two find together is so intense, deep and beautiful. Despite the toxicity of their relationship at times, I was completely invested in their HEA and I loved how they grew, healed and came together again.

And can we have a moment for Ian because he is one of my favourite side characters ever. I would love to read more of him!

Katie and Jules Por Vida

The Broken Demon was just that he was
BROKEN. This isn't your average love story. This story Daisy gives you isn't the happy go lucky love story. This is the love story, maybe YOUR love story of when you had your heart ripped from your chest. When the guy you loved so much was too broken to see that your love could help heal his inner demons. Julius is a hip hop dancer in NY. Kate is a ballerina fO. She's been prepped to be the white swan for her whole life.

Julius becomes her everything. But is she his?
This broken boy took his sunshine and made her life cloudy.

You see Kate transform from the naive little girl to this woman who is much darker but I actually loved her so much more thru her transformation.

This book is so raw and real and it happens all the time to girls and women. Sometimes we learn and grow and find the one who makes us feel like we deserve the world. And sometimes he wakes up and realizes that he had the best thing right infront of him and they come back.

This book does have a HEA. It does have Ow/0m drama. It's toxic and real.
Imma sucker for the grovel and I personally think it was done very well

Daisy I loved this book and so glad I have come across your books!

This story broke me and put me back together. This was so good.

Katrina was so young and sheltered. She wasn’t sure of what she wanted. She fell hard when she met Julius. Her first love. You could feel her innocence and inexperienced life. Meeting Julius changes her. Breaks her and her Broken Demon.

“He makes me want to be a little more reckless. A little more carefree, and I don't even know his name.”

Julius is a broken man. He has a bad past and it prevents him from being who he really is. He prevents himself from feeling good about life. The undeniable pull Katerina has on him breaks him. Until he is a Broken Demon.

“…Yet I had to run. I had to flee. I ran because I am feeling something! And that is scary as shit. She’s making me feel something.”

So so good. This book takes you on a journey of all the emotions. You finally get a HEA. One that Katerina and Julius deserve.

“And you are the sunshine that broke through my darkness.”

THIS BOOK. I went through alll the emotions with Julius and Katerina’s story. It was so real and also a little dark which was so them. I could not put this down once I started - god Julius’s past hard me in tears and made all of his actions make perfect sense didn’t excuse what he did or how badly he hurt her but it definitely brought light to why he did it. Their story is probably one of my top reads of the year and I cannot wait to start Lexis book next! Another amazing read by Daisy! 🖤🖤

Don’t read this book! Some light spoilers below……

This is my very first review in my life. This author wrote two idiotic and unsympathetic characters. And that’s when I wasn’t pulled out by the grammatical errors. If you aren’t going to take the time to properly edit the UPDATED version then don’t release a book. I can’t reiterate enough how horrible this writing was. Neither character had anything even resembling growth and I’ve read a lot of smut in my life. I’m even willing to let go of the idea that the book has be good in the way that true novels need to be. (Pretentious but honest, popular doesn’t equate to good.) I need nothing more than for it to be entertaining. This wasn’t even that, why have them break up for two years if neither learns anything!!!! The secondary characters were horrible as well, they simply pushed them back together never mind that she suffered from hospitalization and depression with no therapy in sight. And FINALLY why why why do these authors feel the need to use domestic abuse as a plot point? It’s really sick because the subject is too important to be used in such a cavalier manner. The ability to self publish has democratized the publishing space, which in some ways is a wonderful thing. But in other ways I start to miss the gatekeepers who at least demanded grammar corrections.

“You came into my life like a ray of sunshine, lighting up each corner of my dark, blackened soul, and at that time, I didn’t want to light up certain corners. I wanted them to stay in the dark forever.”

Daisy Thorm - ummm seester. Excuse you for this book 💙 it hurt, I ached but it was so raw and real.

Sometimes we are broken from life. Sometimes we are broken by others. We can put ourselves back together but the pieces may not match up as pretty as they did before. This is that story. About two damaged souls, coming together and letting the light and darkness fill in the missing pieces.

I wanted to cry, yell, and cuss out Julian (and Daisy 😂) but I also wanted to hug him (and Daisy) for writing a story that felt like one I understood, had experienced, had lived through.

Off to read My Shameless Angel now. And then My Heartless Soul.

If you like your romance with some pain (and healing) then add The Demons of New York series to your TBR.

After reading Daisy Thorn’s first book and liking but not loving it, I decided to give this new series a try! Her improvement in writing jumped so quickly and it shows how much dedication and time she is taking to learn how to write and to make significant progress with each book.

This time, my rating is solely on the fact that I didn’t like the MMC at all. He is a stalker and toxic, and that’s just not the kind of romance or even dark romance that I enjoy reading. Additionally, I wasn’t a huge fan that she was 19 and he was 31, I don’t like age gaps with one character under 21, I can’t get past the societal issues in real life to enjoy those books! However, if you don’t have an issue with either of those things, I’d highly recommend this book!

Sweet Katerina a born to be ballerina who are her parents prized possession and shelters her as so. When Katerina walks the streets of time square she doesn’t expect to spot eyes with her demon. Julius and Katerina instantly share a connection, but is it all happening a little too fast for Julius? He’s too broken to be loved. He’s a monster who will only hurt her.

This book does have a 12 year age gap so if you are not in to the age gap trope I would not recommend. However, if you are into the immediately possessive, stalker, dark man…then this one is for you. There is nothing I love more than a possessive man (I need therapy) but Julius claims her right away and no one else can touch her. I eat it up every time. I enjoyed the story, it was quick too. I honestly forgot I was reading.

Daisy Daisy Daisy how do you do it??? I absolutely LOVED this book!! I literally devoured it and when I went to eat my dinner I was itching to get back to reading it🫢

Kate has always grown up doing ballet and was shielded from everything by her parents. When one day she sees the most handsome man she has ever seen with his dark eyes luring her in.

Julius has his sights set on Kate since the moment he saw her in a crowd. He is a hip hop dancer and owns a studio with his best friend Ian. Ian also has his sights set on Kate though.

I loved this book so much!! I finished it in a couple hours and just everything about it. The possessiveness, the secrecy, the heartbreak, the rebuild everything. Such an amazing book that everyone should read 🥰🥰

My Broken Demon By Daisy Thorn:

First off A playlist!! I Love that!!
Katerina: 19 years old ballet dancer.
Julius:  31 years old hip hop dancer/ biker.
Oh man these two the way that they are drawn to each other. The heat between them during that first kiss. The way he claims her. It is all just hot. Oh my gosh so much time together just for Julius to do that to her! My heart hurts! Wow that pain turned her into the black swan. A year passed!?!  I love that during that year Ian was there for Katerina. 2 years!?! He opened up and let out his demons. I didn't expect that. Oh my gosh that ending was perfect!

That's what I get for trusting an Instagram reel 🤦‍♀️

This book was not what I expected, he was awful and a womanizer that had multiple partners after being with the MFC, and she had no backbone and let herself be manipulated by him over and over again, there was no grovel and no redeeming qualities in him.

This book was not for me, I didn't enjoy the relationship between the main couple and I didn't like the main characters.

This book felt like a "new moon meets fifty shades of grey" bad rewrite.

What a devastating, toxic, love story. I loved it! The intensity of their obsession with one another is felt from the moment their eyes connect, to the very end of the book. Even throughout the turmoil, the obsession is clear. The toxicity of it in the beginning was able to morph into more stability later on, but holy was it intense!
Tragic. Devastating. Tear your heart out and stomp on it kind of love.

“ I don’t deserve you. I never did. But I will do absolutely anything to make you happy.” -Julius

Julius was not my favorite in the beginning. He was mean and forceful and possessive. I am more of a golden retriever girl I’ve figured out…… but by the end he grew on me.

I loved Katerina’s growth. I understand growing up sheltered and naive and just wanting someone to pay attention to you. Her pain was definitely felt I hated how much she hurt.

I did love that even with how different they were, they were the perfect opposites for each other

My broken demon was such an emotional rollercoaster! It had me hooked right from the beginning, and at the edge of my seat the whole time. It follows Katerina and Julias, and how they have this all encompassing love until…they don’t. You get dual POV throughout the story.

Tropes include:
🩰Age gap
🩰Bad boy/Good girl
🩰Virgin
🩰Forbidden
🩰Possessive MMC

DNF. I tried but only got to 37%. The story was choppy. It didn’t flow well at all. Seemed to jump between scenes. I skimmed a ton of pages because I couldn’t get into the characters or the dialogue. No chemistry between the characters. It was supposed to be dark but I didn’t get a sense of that at all. Really corny tbh. Idk, maybe I’ll try again in the future but atm it’s a no for me

I really wanted to like this book. The tropes are interesting, the cover is cool. However, it’s written like a fanfic. The main characters lack character development. How many times can the MMC say “princess. You’re mine!!!”? It’s cringy. All of it is just unrealistic. Had to DNF @ 34%

Yes, Julius is not your typical hero BUT God!!! Is this book worth it! I loved it from start to finish even when I was so angry with the MMC.
If you are looking for a darkish read with a pure/innocent FMC that grows through the book this is for you.
