As if the stress of serving as a co-president isn’t enough, reality begins to blur as Rory Rydell battles flashbacks related to recent trauma. Exacerbating the situation, the presence of her fellow co-president triggers some of her terrors.
Kill Shot is a story of overcoming fear and experiencing the transformative love of Jesus.
After Rory Rydell invites the world to accept Jesus as Savior while levitating above her execution platform, she is the natural choice to serve as one of the co-presidents of the new nation created by God’s miraculous defeat of the United World Order. But then the Kingdom Advisory Council selects Dawson Fortis—her former jailer under the Order—to serve beside her as co-president. Will the two be able to put their complicated past behind them and serve the needs of the country?
Although crippled, the Order in the Eastern and Central zones has survived. The Order’s supreme commanders are hotter than a solar flare over their defeat in the Western zone. They see Rory and the new nation as a threat to their very existence … one that must be eliminated.
Rory trusts God for protection, even though she understands she is a target and is acutely aware that many of God’s devoted followers have been martyred over the ages, even Jesus.
But she has made her choice—serving God is the one thing important enough to risk her life for. The question is, what will it ultimately cost her?
A believer in Jesus Christ, Angela L Gold writes suspenseful stories to answer her calling to share Christ’s love through writing. She takes the privilege and responsibility that goes into creating Christian Fiction seriously. Angela prays over her writing, studies the Bible, and constantly strives to improve her writing skills. She is grateful for the opportunity to share hope through Christ in her stories.
Indoor top rope rock climbing taught Angela L Gold a few life lessons. “After unsuccessfully trying to muscle my way past a difficult section on a rock wall route, I often found if I changed my angle of approach or explored holds that seemed less viable, the impossible suddenly became possible, even easy. This holds true with life’s obstacles. If we change our perspective to search for ways that we can overcome challenges instead of allowing the situation to bind us, we can rise victorious. I weave these principles into my stories to help readers view their problems in the same way.”
Have you ever wondered if you are good enough to call yourself a child of God? Angela L Gold has too. When you find yourself in the midst of a storm, attacked from every side, have you ever questioned if Jesus is really there? She has. Jesus has never failed Angela, and she believes He will never fail you. The characters in her books ask these same questions.
Do not let Angela L Gold’s characters’ witty dialogue convince you she demonstrates the same gift when engaging in an in-person conversation. She would if only she could edit life’s discussions a week or month later like she does a manuscript.

Just like with the first book in the series, I love the premise of this story. Rory has a time convincing those that didn’t perish on what was once Easter that they should give their hearts to God. She wonders why not all the bad people died after they saw her attempted execution, and while it would’ve been way to easy for that to occur, has had opposition from her attempted hit man, the leaders of other nations, and even those who follow Jesus, such as two very oppositional board members. But what seems to really eat at Rory the most is her new—unwanted—engagement to co-president Dawson Fortis. I love the love story that’s embedded in this post-apocalyptic narrative and while I didn’t feel I had to ugly cry for Rory, I am glad that she and Dawson cleared the air. The author did a great job at offering enough of a recap that both books can be read as standalone, but you will want to read them in order. I would love another book in this series just to check in on Rory and Dawson and see how they’re doing with the Great Commission.
Wow! This book is amazing! It's very well written with a unique story line and fantastic characters! Rory is my favorite! She's strong, determined and a true leader. She's doesn't shirk in the face of danger and she certainly has a lot to be afraid of. Dawson is swoon worthy! Strong, formidable and a true partner for Rory. Their relationship must weather some storms but they persevere. This book really got me thinking about the end times and what might happen then! A definite must read! I was provided a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Five stars to Kill Shot with no hesitation. I found this book so suspenseful at several parts. It had me on the edge of my seat. I cannot wait for more of Ms. Angela Lynne Gold’s books in the future.
Rory and Dawson are co-presidents in 2078. Both Christians, but stubborn, hard to forgive others. But they grow in faith and see amazing things happen! Themes of faith, forgiveness, grace, love and redemption fill the book. In dangerous times, will God see them through? I really enjoyed this book.
