A group of embattled Sentients must attack the fortress of a renegade knight and re-capture a talisman. The renegade uses hypnosis and mind control to exploit their personal weaknesses and compulsions. Those who survive are compelled to descend into a desert land inhabited by personal demons. The challenges to core beliefs of a group of reluctant companions reveal the differences between human free will and the unbending natural will of all Sentient beings.

Review by Bradley Simpson: Author of Dreamsbane of Tamalor

I received this volume with much anticipation. I have greatly enjoyed the first two volumes, Ivory Sword and Bronze Sword, very much. The writing style is quirky and unexpected. The tale draws you in slowly and entertains throughout. Rust Sword continues the saga of Day One with all the joy I was expecting. This novel is a cut above the romances and bland fantasy stories I have been reading lately. The characters are well-written and mess well together. I also see that the elf prince and lady duchess have not hooked up yet. And.. the Syron is starting to grow on me. Opening this book was like greeting old friends. Who would I recommend this story to? Everyone who enjoys a good fantasy yarn. Definitely a worthwhile read. =)
