It was tempting to put this book down from the very beginning, or at least after one of the worst (and completely pointless) sex scenes I have ever read that was so poorly written that I had to stop everything and look up the author to see if he was a teenager, I really did because, oh my gawd - the female dialogue and the way the sex is written is out of a 16 year old's fantasy. And then there were more of them! They were the most horrifying thing about this book and added NO MERIT to the story whatsoever. I don't even remember anything about the pirate scarecrow part of the story after those ridiculous scenes, i just needed to purge from all that terrible character writing.

The characters, the dialogue, just a disaster; this is a VERY poorly written book, and with all the amateur writing it was painful to finish, and I only finished out of a misguided sense of duty to read everything I start, but man... I am just glad I picked up the PDF for free because if I had paid for this trash I would be so f'n pissed. I actually am kinda pissed anyway.

This is easily one of the worst books i've ever read. I also believe this author, which, shockingly, has written many other books, and is actually an adult, has some serious masculinity issues.

I created a "could barely finish" shelf just for this book. And there's been lots before that I could barely finish, but this one takes the honour of pushing me to that point of actually going out of my way to create the shelf and stick it there!

I am embarrassed to have read it, but I would be more embarrassed to have paid for it.

I expect lots of THANK YOUS for saving people from this abomination.

An enjoyable read, No great frills, does what it say's on the cover. If you're
a horror fan you'll lap it up, if you're not you won't be reading it anyway.

I thought this was going to be similar to Children of the Corn or something but I was wrong. No in this tale of fright you have a Pirate come back from the dead to seek revenge on all mankind. A good solid tale well worth the read.

I found it in dire need of some editing. There was just a lot of fluff that was unnecessary. The sex scenes were a hair descriptive for their minor role in the book. It is what it is...a predictable slasher book with a supernatural twist.
