Positive Pig is positively positive that this is the best of all possible worlds. The eternal optimist, she is absolutely sure of a happy ending every time. Even when problems cloud the horizon, she still maintains her “YES!” attitude.
Richard Hefter met children's author Jacquelyn Reinach in 1975. He was contracted at the time to write 26 books for the publishers Holt. After the contract expired he formed a publishing venture, Euphrosyne, with Reinach.
He is known as the creator of Stickybear and as the co-creator (with Reinach) and illustrator for the Sweet Pickles[1] library of books, and for the Strawberry Library of First Learning. The Sweet Pickles series went on to sell 40 million copies. Hefter described his aim as "trying to help children understand things like shyness, laziness and embarrassment in a humorous way."
Pig is the type of character that she thinks everything happens for a reason. She gets up and wants to have a big picnic, but she doesn't really plan anything. She expects everyone to simply show up and bring all she needs. She paints a wall with walrus. First, no one can come to the picnic, but then that's okay for pig, she likes small picnics, then it starts to rain, and she isn't phased as it will wash off the paint they put up and they can go have a picnic inside. Anything that happens is perfect for Pig while Walrus worries ever so.
I suppose you can be totally happy and content with life if your expectations can change so easily. Then, your heart never really gets hurt, things just move through you and you can let life be what life is. I guess I can learn quite a lot from Pig. I'm probably more like Walrus in this case. On the other hand, if Pig had done some planning and sent invites and let people know about the picnic, maybe it would have happened. That sounds like me too.
The nephew laughed at Walrus and his worrying. He did think that Pig needed to bring some food and send invites or set off fireworks to get people's attention. She could also have a dance and people would want to dance. He thought this was a slow Pickles book and he gave it 3 stars.
Pig Thinks Pink is about a positive little pig who thinks everything will go all right even if every thing is going all wrong. This books is animal fiction because the pig and all the other animals are wearing clothes, talking, and doing things people do.
