This book delves into the Sioux Uprising of 1862 that encompassed the southwest corner of Minnesota, among other areas along the Minnesota River. The first attack occured at Lake Shetek and it spread from there. There was enough blame on both sides to go around. Unfortunately it ended with a public hanging of 38 Sioux Indians, many of them innocent of the crimes attributed to them.
