This book gives insight to the Chinese new year and customs. There's a lot about what they do they get good luck for the new year and what they do to banish bad spirits away.

I know that when people go from other countries to China and other places, part of their cultural experience is taking part in their cultural/religious practices, including bowing to their gods.. in this book, Buster also bows to their ancestral/home/heaven god... I don't like this practice.

Very similar to Buster's show Postcards from Buster. I enjoyed the story and the illustrations. The illustrations are similar to the Arthur books and the show.

3.75 Stars with Chinese New Years On the Way, it was fun to read a book about it. There are not a ton of good Chinese New Year books. We have the Chineses Zodiac book which are cool!

Learning from Buster is always fun!
