An enjoyable read, and who knew that pretty much every square inch of Scotland has a supernatural story :-)

Stuff I found especially intriguing/interesting/noteworthy are below...

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote shortly before his passing "The reader will judge that I have had many adventures. The greatest and most florious of all awaits me now."

"It is quite understandable that, when a medium's faculties are heightened to the extent they need to be to communicate with the dead, those same faculties run the risk of being overwhelmed by ordinary life. (Gordon) Smith certainly found this to be the case. 'Everything in your life becomes exaggerated; you begin to see molehills as mountains.'"

PRISM = Psychical Research Involving Selected Mediums

lesson from Learmonth Gardens, Edinburgh -- leave stuff from Egypt in Egypt.

"...simple prayers to rid people of seemingly supernatural activities that trouble them, such as poltergeist-like activity, or inexplicable presences. These latter, he (Reverend Charles Robertson) says, potentially fall into the bracket of a minister's pastoral care."

"...a survey, published in 2002, found that four times as many UFOs were spotted over Scotland every year as France and Italy, the second and third most popular locations respectively."
