This is one of those keepsake treasures which I have had since our daughters were small. Apparently, I started one of them in 2000, so that gives you some idea of the age!

Anyway, I completed the first one for my younger daughter in November 2022 for her birthday. On January 4th, this year, I started this one for my older daughter. I finally finished it 3 weeks later because life intervened, not because it takes that long. Filling in all the answers is quite a process, but most of the work I did in two long afternoons, not counting hunting down the pictures. My writing hand was sore and limp when I finished. Fortunately, this second time, I had the notes from the book I did for her sister, so it wasn't starting completely from scratch on the things about my mom, myself and our family. Still, I did not copy it verbatim, but I am just not used to writing long hand anymore and certainly not so much information.

Overall, I give the book a compromise 4 stars because it is a book for mothers to record their memories as a keepsake for their daughters, which is something (I believe) all mothers should do. Having lost my mother five years ago now, I wish I had something like this from her. VERY MUCH!

However, this book as it is, while very pretty, tends to box you into a completely conventional family. If you are, then it would be perfect. But I think it tries to script too much and doesn't leave enough open for the variety of differences in people, families and mother-daughter relations. However, what I did was give my own unconventional but honest answers and use the pages which didn't 'fit' for pictures.

Aside from that complaint, it is a beautiful legacy book to fill out and give to your daughter. I'm just sorry it has taken me so long to complete it! I've had these books for AGES!

This is a beautiful book, written and illustrated by Donna Green. The illustrations are gorgeous! I enjoyed writing in the spaces available all of my memories that count in my daughter's life. Memories of my life and hers, such as: my childhood, school days, my first date, my marriage and her birth; her young years, when we became friends, Mr. Right, her wedding and our family.

I would not have written these things down if it were not for this helpful book. It makes a thoughtful present for a daughter, one that she will always treasure. Trouble is, I have eight more books to go! I'm not sure my memory will serve me that well!

My mom died two months ago and I found this in her belongings. It is an amazing gift I will cherish always and forever.

I really liked this book because it lets the mother and the daughter write in fun memories as the daughter grows up. I also think that this book would be such a great book to be given to a daughter when she gets married. I know that cliche, but I think that would be such a special present from mother to daughter.

An opportunity for my mother to tell me a bit about her life. I learned a few things I didn't even know about.
