Ten years ago Jordan Masterson left her hometown heartbroken—and pregnant. Now, yearning for connection with her family, the single mother returns to Tallgrass, Oklahoma. But she's shocked to find her son's father—unaware he has a child—a vital part of the community. Zachary Rutgers owns the ranch that the local homeschoolers use for riding and recreation. Which means little Nicholas, Jordan and Zachary will be spending a lot of time together. Jordan must tell Zachary the truth about their son—and ask for answers herself. Hoping the heart of her cowboy will still be hers for the taking.

I absolutely loved this one too. Since this comes from a series , I already had met Zachary in book one when he was teaching the homeschooling group. So now we get to learn more about why he is single, his love for kids and his past a little more.
When Jordan shows up at Zachary's ranch for lessons for her son Nicholas , she didn't know he was the owner. She instantly realized she would need to tell him the truth about "their son" and deal with the consequences of holding the secret for over a decade. When Zachary is finally told about it, their already shaky relationship turns much worse as the anger he had for her grows. They BOTH broke each others hearts over 10 years ago, and now they are both going to have to share custody of their son Nicholas. MUCH of the book is navigating the pain they inflicted on each other in the past, and trying to be cordial in person for their son.. but also fighting the feelings for each other that never left. This is a REALLY good story and once again, I love the homeschooling vibe in it as well. And how they embrace Nicholas's need to learn differently and at his own pace. Wonderful, wonderful book... On to the next one!!!
Home schooling seems hard to me. You need to be disciplined and handle the behaviour of your kids.( I have fixed thoughts on it. I also found hard my children going with their dad when he came to visit.. felt alone.) The story was a reminder of my past. Being in the school system seeing the benefits for n against teaching your own kids. ebook from the library.
As former high school sweethearts, they had a child. But due to several misunderstandings and lies, the father is unaware that he is a father. Can this couple move past this pain, trouble with forgiveness and trust to become a family?
Jordan Masterson returns to her hometown after being away for ten years. Many things about Tallgrass, Oklahoma have changed, but some things have stayed the same. She has a secret she’s kept for over ten years. Going home, Jordan realizes she can’t keep this secret much longer. She has to face her fears and tell what she’s been hiding.
I enjoyed reading about Jordan Masterson and Zachary Rutgers. They were high school sweethearts torn apart by life’s struggles and different ambitions they had for their lives. Both Jordan and Zachary return to Tallgrass, Oklahoma after being away for years. Each is unaware of the other's return. There were definitely some unresolved issues between them. Could they deal with their issues enough to be friends again? Jordan hoped so...for their son’s sake.
I also liked how the author talked about homeschooling and why someone would consider doing it. Jordan Masterson starts to consider the homeschooling option because of her son Nicholas and how he is not dealing with the public school system so well. I liked how the author had Jordan explore this school option and see if it would be a fit for her son and her life.
This is a sweet romance story filled with heart and soul. I really enjoyed reading about Nicholas, Jordan’s son. He’s such a sweetheart who’s had many challenges to overcome. I’m very thankful for the review copy of this book. This was a fun read I know you’ll enjoy.

There is too much focus on promoting homeschooling in this book. I'm very pro-homeschooling, but this is written as though it were out and out propaganda, and not a romance. I won't be buying more from this particular Love-Inspired series for that reason alone.
***caution potential spoiler alert***
The story was a typical angst-ridden tale. Boy meets girl. Boy & girl break up. Girl finds out she's pregnant and hides it for TEN YEARS when she decides to move back to hometown and later share the news to baby-daddy. SURPRISE, I'm back and you have a kid. It takes a while for him to forgive her. She forgives his family, so immediately assumes that he'll just HAVE to forgive her for the sake of the child. Story was a bit unbelievable and the end was too drawn out.

I give this book 3 stars for being a sweet, clean, read. It was very, very, repetitive though and could have been about 100 pages shorter.(Although, it is only just over 200 pages as it is.) It was just okay for me, but I do appreciate the cleanliness and the message of forgiveness that is taught throughout.
I put this down as a Christian Romance because God and forgiveness is mentioned, but it is far from being preachy.
Mis-communication kept them apart, will they be able to learn to trust each other again. Jordan Masterson left for college after a fight with her boyfriend Zachary Rutgers. Zach's mother never let calls go through to him. Eleven years later they both end up back in town. Can their son bring them together, or will they have to share custody.
For those liking cowboy stories, here is an excellent one. It was a restful one to read after reading so many suspense stories. It was enjoyable and I highly recommend it.
