New parents are often overwhelmed-and befuddled-when it comes to caring for their bundle of joy. Luckily Safe Baby Handling Tips saves the day with its hilarious “do’s and don’ts” on baby care. Now incompetent parents everywhere can benefit from this indispensable guide, which also includes a unique Wheel of Responsibility™ to help moms and dads negotiate baby chores (and shirk diaper duty!) whenever they can. Makes baby-rearing a blast!
I don't give books five stars very often, but this book is a must-have for any new parent. All of its advice is spot-on. (Well, except for the "do not pick your baby's nose." I mean who hasn't picked their child's nose?) (Perhaps I've said too much.)
If only I'd had this book when my children were infants. Then I wouldn't have electrocuted them or jammed giant turkey legs in their faces. Oh well. They're fine. Pretty much.
This little handbook has illustrations of right vs wrong ways to handle and care for a baby. It's hilarious. Would make a nice gift for first time parents.
I'm not sure why everybody is laughing...every single one of these Do's and Don't's is great advice.
See? Good advice. ------------------------ SECOND READ I am now ready and qualified to parent like a boss. Every prospective mom and dad should read this.
A do’s and dont’s instructional guide accompanied by hilarious technical drawings. Purchased for a cousin who just had a baby, I’ve seen some of the drawings in memes on the internet and was super pleased to find them compiled in a board book.
We were bought this as a gift when our youngest son was born, almost 5 years ago.
I used to read this for the elder son and his friends who found it hilarious. Having re-read it this evening it is still just as funny! I'll be reading it with the younger boy in the coming days!
I was in a bookstore, and happened upon this book. I picked it up and started to read, and began to giggle, out loud. I felt that I was being too loud, so I closed the book and put it down until I felt I was under control again. I then picked it up to read, but burst into giggles again. This happened several times. I wanted to buy the book in the store but it was kind of beat up, so I ordered from Amazon. I gave this book to my friend for her baby shower, and it was the absolute hit of the party! You know how everyone passes the presents around, "Oh, how nice, ANOTHER tube of Desitin!" "Oh, of COURSE she can use another frilly baby headband!" and no one really looks at them or cares? Well this book took about an hour to make it around the circle; its progress was punctuated with shrieks of laughter. We even called her husband in and he read it and totally cracked up. My friend says she is actually going to use the spinner on the front of the book.
I think my favorite parts of the book are the "Testing Baby's Bottle", "Introducing Baby to Pets", and "Bonding With Baby", but to be honest, they are all hilarious. I read the book about 10 times before I gave it to her and I still giggled each time. I don't have any babies, but I think I might just buy this for myself for laughs. Fantastic shower gift.
Would be perfect as a gift for a brand new parent in the first week of their child's life. They'll appreciate that even though there is so much to learn - at least they have the common sense not to attempt any of the DON'Ts in this book. Also as a quick read they'll be able to finish it before in that tiny gap between the baby falling asleep and the parents entering blissful unconsciousness.
I picked it up at a library sale and thought it was hilarious. I figured someday I'd give it away. When I actually read it page-by-page, I realized that maybe four of the jokes involved situations that could freak out sensitive new parents. Then I realized that it wasn't just sensitive new parents;those situations gave me the willies, too--and were actually troubling. Funny, possibly, but troubling. This really is a funny book. No kidding--it's seriously funny. But read it first.
After a friend had forwarded a selection from this book on Facebook, I had to find it. This little book is just too funny and a bit enlightening as well. Now I know why my brother doesn't want me to babysit his little rugrats. Who knew babies shouldn't be dried with the laundry?! Seriously, though, it would make a great gift for first-time parents.
This book is the funniest book ever! It definitely helped take the edge off of those first stressful weeks of motherhood. When one of my guy friends came over and looked like he didn't know how to hold the baby, I just showed him this hilarious manual and we laughed so hard that we were in tears!
Who gave this to my parents? They haven't followed any of the advice in it yet!

I've just discovered the wheel of responsibility. I also recognize the spine and sometimes take it down from the shelf to play with the wheel. (8 months)
