My boys and I marveled at this massive 1200 page, 9-pound tome sometime before Christmas - then saw the equally staggering $150 price tag and ran quickly away. Here we are just a few months later and I spotted two copies on the bargain table next to the checkout at B&N. I remembered the price and started to ignore it, but curiousity got the best of me and I snuck a peek to see if it had dropped any. It had. Snagged this baby for a completely reasonable $24.99 - hardcover in a designer slipcase! I loved the first edition of the The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family, which I got way back in 1997, but it only covered the first 8 seasons. This new one covers the first 20. I'm just now taking off the shrink wrap, but I'm sure it will be hours of fun and will prompt us to break out the DVD collection to see old favorites or episodes we somehow missed.

UPDATE: Wow. That's all I can say on this one. This book might just have everything. After the episode guide portion of the book are hundreds of pages of even more Simpsons knowledge: everything Homer had said "D'oh" or "Mmm" about, every marquee ever written on the church's lawn, every couch gag, even every lyric to every song ever sung on the show...and much, much more. This book is like the encylopedia galactica!

This book is massive. It has to be because it dedicates two pages to each episode of the first twenty seasons! Add to that all of the extra's and you end up with a 1,000 page tome that offers knowledge and wisdom, Simpson style, on just about every aspect of an average Joe's life. This is not a book you read sequentially, it's more of a flip through and read some fun stuff on random pages kinda book. I'll never read all of it, but it's great fun to find out some fun facts and inside jokes for your favorite episodes. It's certainly not for everyone, but if you like the Simpsons you're bound to get quite a few laughs from this book. Plus it's a great time-waster for those dreary autumn days or if you are in Self-Isolation.

Simply a must have for any Simpsons fan. I read a review which said they should have waited to release this but my reply was why should they? This book is HUGE, it has to be seen to be believed and I doubt whether any further series could have fitted into this gigantic book. It's actually quite easy to read and hold despite its size which I wasn't sure it would be. Full of fantastic facts and images this book should easily give even the most casual Simpsons fan hours of fun just like the TV series has for many years.

Quite possibly the greatest book ever. I've been watching this show since birth, so I am required to buy all their stuff. I own previous editions of these episode guides & for some reason I don't mind buying the latest one. Especially since I know that I'll have to buy a new one in the future. You can get some great quotes, character bios, synopsis, voice cast listing & of course all 20 seasons in order. It's a must for die hard Simpsons fans. You may be able to look all this stuff up online, but this book is too beautiful to ignore. And it makes a great weapon at 8.8lbs!

Reviewing something like this seems a waste of time, since you're unlikely to but this book unless you really like the Simpsons. It's incredibly exhaustive and a lot of fun.
