Well presented cook book, with mouth-watering pictures, and delicious well-explained recipes. I keep coming back to this one, which is the sign of a good recipe book.

I like Anjum Anand’s modern Indian recipes. She manages to retain the authenticity of the old favourites that we all know and love, reducing cooking time, salt and fat in every recipe. This particular book is my favourite Anjum Anand title. I think I have an older edition as the cover and publisher are not the same.
I have six of her cookbooks, one of which is based on Ayurvedic principles, and focuses on a healthy balanced lifestyle, 2 others are linked to her television series, one is a vegetarian cookery book, and another really excellent one which I also turn to time and time again , is “ I Love Curry.”
In Indian Every Day, we see how easy it is to rustle up Indian food. Indian food has had quite a bad press as it has long been considered to be overly spiced, heavy and laden with fats. Anjum changes all that here. She delivers a fresh approach with doable recipes. The majority of Anjum’s recipes contain ingredients that are easily available in most supermarkets. The more unusual ingredients such as Pav Bhaji Masala and Anardana, can be tracked down online, if you’re not blessed with an Indian grocer’s in your locale.
Try her Butter Paneer, which contains hardly any butter, her Classic Chicken Curry and her Spicy Kashmiri Potatoes, and you will enjoy lower fat - though authentic, Indian meals in your own home.

I love this cookbook; it's written for a non-Indian audience and that, oddly, was its charm. I got it shortly after I moved to the United States, and it really helped to understand how some of the ingredients I too for granted could be translated into what was available in the US. It's got a lot of recipes that have become my family favorites, especially the meat dishes.
