A BOOK ABOUT "DECREES," AND SIMILAR "ASCENDED MASTERS" TEACHINGS

Elizabeth Clare Prophet (1939-2009) founded The Summit Lighthouse with her husband Mark Prophet (1918-1973), which became the Church Universal and Triumphant in 1975. The Church lost members after her failed prophecies of nuclear war in the 1980s-1990s, and Alzheimer's Disease caused her to retire from the ministry in 1999. She/they wrote other books, such as 'Climb the highest mountain,' 'The Great White Brotherhood,' 'Prophecy for the 1980s,' 'The Lost Years of Jesus,' 'The Lost Teachings Of Jesus,' etc. Her daughter Erin also wrote 'Prophet's Daughter: My Life with Elizabeth Clare Prophet Inside the Church Universal and Triumphant.'

The first chapter of this book states, "All of the writings of the masters set forth in this book... were delivered by the hierarchy of ascended masters to Mark and Elizabeth Prophet, who, as messengers for the Great White Brotherhood, have released the higher teaching to the world for over two decades. Under the direction of the Ascended Master El Morya... Mark L. Prophet founded the Summit Lighthouse in 1958 in Washington, D.C., for the purpose of publishing and disseminating the message of the ascended masters. Elizabeth was called by El Morya to support him in the mission in 1961...

"Numerous volumes have been dictated to the messengers by members of the Brotherhood... On February 26, 1973, Mark L. Prophet took leave of this plane, as he prophesied he would, and made his ascension to become a member of the brotherhood of ascended masters serving the earth during this period of world change... Thus the two witnesses of the Word of God anointed to deliver to the age the wisdom of the masters are making available to all who will hear, the true knowledge of the Christ which Jesus gave to the inner circle of devotees..." (Pg. xv-xvi)

A "Decree" is defined as follows: "a foreordaining will, an edict or fiat, a fore-ordaining of events... The decree is the most powerful of all applications to the Godhead... It is the means whereby the kingdom of God becomes a reality here and now through the power of the spoken Word." (Pg. xx-xxi) The book adds, "The decree, when given with reverence, becomes a divine fiat rather than mere human 'wish-craft,' or the warring of minds pitted against one another through human 'wit-craft,' mind willing, and mental hypnosis---practices which border on black magic, dangerous indeed, and which are without the authority of the divine aegis." (Pg. 26)

It states, "The science of the spoken Word revealed by the ascended masters restores to mankind in this age the lost art of decreeing which was employed by sons and daughters of God in the early golden ages of earth's history which antedate the fall of both Atlantis and Lemuria. The practice of this science provides the way for their return to the original destiny in perfection before the expulsion from Paradise." (Pg. 31-32)

The book explains, "group decreeing, when accompanied by an intense visualization of the good desired, is more efficacious on a world scale than individual decreeing and will result in a speedy response to those engaged in it... Rhythm is also important in decrees. Proper rhythm creates a most penetrating projection of spiritual vibrations that will magnetize all over the planet the qualities of God that are being invoked through the decrees." (Pg. 41) It adds, "Decrees are thus SPOKEN by man because it is the power of the Word---and no other power in the universe---that is able to create, to resurrect, to transmute, and to perfect the Divine Image in the sons and daughters of God. Therefore, decrees should always be given aloud, and only if it is impossible to do so should they be offered silently." (Pg. 55)

The Prophets have been nearly "forgotten" in the current religious scene, but their movement continues, and books like this may be of ongoing interest to students of esoteric or "Ascended Masters" teachings.
