Driven by insatiable desire, a werewolf will enter hell to rescue a princess captured by the Master of Demons…
Headstrong and proud—a royal creature of sinuous grace, all primal instinct and lethal beauty—the shapeshifter Gabriella has agreed to serve as emissary to the vampires who rule in the shadows of the New Orleans night. But she cannot resist the pull of the demon she glimpses on the other side of a mirror, and she is drawn to him hungrily, through a magical portal into the Land of the Dead. Now an eternal nightmare awaits Gabriella at the hands of a mesmerizing dark lord who satisfies her every erotic need…while slowly devouring her soul.
The powerful warrior wolf Guntram Brandt is responsible for the safety of the vanished princess he swore allegiance to years before. Yet it is more than a soldier’s loyalty that pulls Guntram down into the depths of nightmare—for Gabriella ignites within him a burning animal passion that must be satisfied.
But when offered an escape, will she follow her rescuer to safety—torn between her lustful obsession with the dark lord who has enslaved her and her fierce sensual attraction to the only wolf who could ever master her?

Darkness Captured is a book that showed strong potential. While I have absolutely no problems with Delilah Devin's writing, the story ultimately suffers from too many sex scenes and not enough story. When I picked up this book, I initially thought that the plot would be chock full of action and suspense, peppered with steamy scenes. I wonder if reading this book in one sitting is the reason for my nonchalance. Perhaps novels like these are not meant to be read this way. With so many interludes being thrown in my face, I soon found myself skipping through the pages for a section filled with plot. I get it- this is an erotica. That doesn't necessarily mean, however, that every page has to be filled with sex. At a certain point, you become numb to the scenes, a dangerous place for your readers to be in. If there were more engaging events included in this book, the amount of sex might not have been a problem. Unfortunately, not enough happens outside of the bedroom; therefore, the trysts in the bedroom fail to stand out. It just became one big blur of thrusts and moans to me.
I thought this book was okay, I'm afraid it was not one of my favorites. I hated to find out that the "damsel in distress" was a bit of a slut. Not only that she finds herself having to depend(and do the hump and bump) on one man while she happily waits on her hero to save her. ?. Is it possible to have two heroes? Who is the bad guy here? Even though the scenes were hott, I would like to clearly have the good guy and the bad guy. How can you say one was evil when she was screaming his name for the first half of the book? It left me with conflicted feelings. I mean while shes running off into the sunset with heroboy, what happens to the "other man"? It was an okay book, I guess you can decide for yourself:)

A sexy read. I like the world created here. This is the fourth book in her Darkness series, but I still understood everything. The only thing I didn't get was a lot of character depth from the hero. Most of the story takes place with him trying to find and save her. The heroine is a shapeshifter and very sexually active. She seemed to have more chemistry with her abductor than Guntram, the hero. But I did sense her emotional tie with the hero. It was a good book, and it made me want to read the others in this series. Still, I would have liked to have seen more interaction between the hero and heroine.
I really like where Delilah went with this series. Gabriella is a very sexual wolf but not with other wolves! She loves being dominated, but doesn't want to be owned! Now that she is in the Land of the Dead will Guntram be able to pull her from the dark lords alure? Guntram along with Simon follow Gabriella to the Land of the Dead and must plan for an escape. Simon has already lived this and hopes to change the outcome. I was at the edge of my seat cheering for the good guys. It had a wonderful ending and I highly recommend this book and series.
So, after checking out the awesome blog Ruby's Reads, I've decided to take a cue from her and try using a 5 point system for my reviews. My 5 points will be different though (a little at least!). First I'll still do my own little synopsis of the book (since the ones on bookstore websites never tell you enough) and then use the 5 point system to express my opinion. So my 5 points will be:
1) Character Development (this is my number one prerequisite to a fantastic book!) 2) The Good, The Bad, And Sometimes Ugly 3) Romance Sizzle Or Fizzle 4) Uniqueness Of The Plot 5) Final Thoughts (Ha I feel like Jerry Springer!)
Ok, so this book was recommended to me on my Nook store; I knew nothing about it but I thought it sounded fantastic so decided to give it a shot. It centers around Gabriella (a shapeshifter) who is working alongside the vampire clan, led by Alex. Gabriella and Alex have some romantic trysts, but he is in love with another which makes her pretty angry. She is being held in a room at the vampire compound, "to keep her safe" and decides to take a look in the forbidden mirror. In it she sees a handsome man beckoning to her and she feels compelled to reach out to him. In the process she gets sucked through the mirror, into the land of demons and undead. The man who has pulled her through is none other than the Master of the Demons, Marduk. He keeps her captive, but sees to her every desire. She finds herself entranced with this man...but with her second in command, Guntram, hot on the trail to save her she will have to make a choice: her captor or her savior.

There were some really good ideas in this book but felt it was a little lacking in depth and substance. The erotic/sexual content of this book was toooo over done and the story suffered because of it. Some great characters, some good plot lines, great world but the gratuitous sexual content(which became boring because of its over use) was distracting from the story which is a shame because instead of a great read it became an average read.
From book "Drivin by insatiable desire, a werewolf will enter hell to rescue a princess captured by the master of demon." As usual Delilah does not disapoint. This book will grab you from beginning till the end. This is a sexy, erotic, mesmerizing, & dark book. Delilah will take you to places you have never dreamth about. Nor you might not want to enter.
excellent book but now I am waiting for book 5. We need to know about Marduk, rescuing Simon and what is happening with Alex and Miki. Does she find out about Marduk and what happens when she finds out the truth about Chessa's baby.
This was the last book on this series so far and it was great! So steamy and sexy, even green creatures with long skinny fingers and demons with long scary wings sounded sensual in this book!
