What’s with the dog romance? 😩

I liked the first two books and I gave the second book a perfect five stars.

I just couldn’t like this one. Illustrations are good. However, the story in this one isn’t interesting or anything educational when it’s a book meant for kids.

Well, we know some dogs are really spoiled. But spoiling your pets like most of us can do is enjoyable to read and something most readers can relate. However, a little too much extra is a little too much extra to read with the kids.

My go-to comfy read this series is. Gopi always makes me want my own, cute, fluffy, shiny golden retriever. Alas, I can't. This last book makes you witness how Gopi grows up and finds love of his own. A cute love story, but with lesser illustrations this time. Lovely conclusion to this utterly cute series.

Gopi,
Don't you know who he is?
He is the very adorable doggo of the Murty household.
You must have read about him in The Gopi Diaries, book 1 and 2 when he was a cute little yet mischievous pup. Book 3, The Gopi Diaries : Growing Up talks of how he has now grown up even more and has more and more adventures with his family.

Our Gopi is going for swims where he meets a love interest - Nova, and he ends up brings new pups in the world. Gopi also embarks on some adventures that leave his family members shaken. Gopi goes grooming and also attends the book launch of The Gopi Diaries. This book was just too adorable.

I am in love with Gopi. I wish Sudha ma'am continues this series forever because I would never get bored of reading about Gopi and his acts. When you have been reading about a pet since he was a pup, you feel a connection with him, his life and his journey. This book brought a big smile on my face and left me wanting to adopt a pet super soon. What I adored the most was how Ajji has kept sweet adorable nicknames for our Gopi. It shows how pets end up occupying huge spaces in our hearts and lives.

Lastly, I cannot forget to praise the illustrator of the book, Sandhya Prabhat whose colourful illustrations managed to make the book an indulging and bright read.

Fans of Gopi, another book is here for you all. Buy it, read it! 🐶

A Review of "The Gopi Diaries: Growing Up"

This final installment in the series chronicles Gopi's journey from playful pup to wise elder dog, offering a heartwarming blend of nostalgia, laughter, and life lessons.

Maturity with Charm: While Gopi still retains his mischievous spark, there's a newfound depth to his reflections. He contemplates the changing dynamics of his family, welcomes a new litter of puppies (including his adorable daughter Supernova!), and faces the realities of aging with grace and acceptance. Murty beautifully captures the complexities of canine life, reminding us that our furry companions experience a full spectrum of emotions and experiences.

A Fitting Farewell: Though tinged with a touch of sadness, "Growing Up" is a fitting farewell to Gopi's captivating journey. It celebrates the enduring power of love, the joy of family, and the unconditional bond between humans and animals.

Final Verdict: While the ending might elicit a few wistful tears, "The Gopi Diaries: Growing Up" leaves a lasting smile on your face. It's a beautiful finale to a charming series, one that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

Love is an infinite feel. We will feel elated when we get love and care from the rightful person. It makes us feel special and we give the world to protect them.

I went to the book launch event, when Sudha Murthy mam launched the book with Gopi and friends. I met my favourite inspiration for real. She was like wildflower with wiseness and boldness and fierceness. I had a chance to get mam's blessing. It was magical because her words and books always gave answer to all my countless questions when I grew up.

It was like a fairytale when I met the hero of the event Gopi. He was so cute and very well behaved. My heart fell in love at first sight though I am not a pet lover.

In the stage, mam shared how Gopi behaves and shared some of the memorable moments with so much love and affection. Sudha Murthy mam said everyone should get a pet to experience unconditional love. We will become emotionally available and we love everyone without haste. Even if we are not able to raise a pet she requested the mob to goto shelters to make them atleast feel that they are not alone in this world. Those words stuck in my mind like an inscription.

In the book, Gopi shared all his adventures from swimming classes to being a father. How he developed himself as a responsible hooman was so cute. From chapter to chapter, I felt the love he have between his Ajjis and Ajja. It was a true love moment when he met Nova for the first time. I was in admiration when our brave hero saved mam from the thief. He is truly a bundle of love and joy. As rightfully mentioned in the book he is the superhero 🐶❤️

I am writing for all the three books in the series- Coming Home, Finding Love and Growing Up.

I accidentally stumbled upon this treasure while looking for a gift to a young adorable girl. When I bought the books, the third one wasn’t published yet. I loved the two books instantaneously. Being a pet parent myself, I could relate to each and every incident. Isn’t it adorable to call your dog by many names and isn’t it awesome that (s/)he would respond to all of those names without any problem?

Sudha Murty’s simplistic style of writing makes all the difference. Simple words, simple language, and lot of love has made this book really special. The illustrations are just so perfect and adorable. The fluidity of the language and the illustrations has made Gopi a universal family dog

Thanks @SudhaMurty for sharing your little bundle of joy with us.

Having said that, I was expecting some stories of the new adopted dogs in the family and how Gopi’s life might have changed because of them. I also wanted to know if Gopi fell sick any time.

Was it a coincidence that Gopi and Nova met or Aajji wanted Gopi to mate with. Golden Retriever only? Now that Gopi and Nova had the pups, I wonder where the pups will stay later.

Anyway, I liked the books- all three of them.

“The Gopi Diaries: Growing Up”

The third book in the series is the Gopi Diaries: Growing Up. It follows Gopi on the way he develops and has great adventures with his family. You will like to see him study and see something new!

The escapades of Gopi are cute. He finds Nova, takes in puppies, and engages in naughty trouble causing his family concern. The grooming events and the book launch are comic side shows. All in all, the book is delightful and pleasant to read!

It is like being a member of his family in reading about the journey of Gopi. The loving nicknames Ajji claims to her pets reveal the extent of love we are prepared to give pets and the necessity of pets. The big smile came to my face as well as the book!

The illustrations of Sandhya Prabhat are marvelous. Her colorful image makes adventures of Gopi alive and makes the book a visual delight. It is not a secret that the drawings contribute to the beauty of the book!

Cute and Good experience. I am happy for Gopi and Nova. Plus Supernova's name is soooo beautiful!
Gopi is very lucky to have such a family. Many dogs even though loved to the dearest extent dont have so much facilities in rural areas. They dont get the veterinary treatment they deserve because of reasons like the vets not available or the none availability of medicine or non accessible and too expensive treatments. Let alone Swimming classes!
That is why, Gopi, enjoy your life, you are sooo fortunate to get a loving family who are ready to do anything for you.
All the Best, Gopi Murthy!
