Note: I can't find a summary or blurb for this, so I'll try to write a short description of the story and an excerpt.
Gale Harrison come from a moneyed but lonely background - he is a freak after all. He is known as an aberrant, with a touch he can wield electricity. People like him, fellow aberrants with their different kinds of talent, have come to Applewood Village to be with their own kind.
And maybe, maybe Gale can learn to live and find some semblance of normalcy. But he didn't know that what he will find is love....he will find Dr. Michael Preston.
He liked Michael. A lot. Something about him was just… comfortable. Though he suspected Michael might not take that as a compliment, to Gale it was the sexiest thing about him. He needed to feel safe with someone before he could move forward. That feeling was hard to find, especially with another man. Even harder with a man his age. It seemed they were all into promiscuity and danger. Gale could give them more danger than they bargained for, but he didn’t want to take those risks with somebody else’s life.
Michael seemed more stable. Sensible. The kind of man who would take his time, and let Gale take his.
Librarian Note: There is more than one author in the GoodReads database with this name.
Elizabeth Jewell is the author of a growing collection of paranormal and contemporary erotic novels and novellas. She’s been writing since before she could read, and has given in to the fact that she’s completely addicted to the process of composing fiction — especially hot, steamy, paranormal fiction. Elizabeth lives in Colorado with her kids, a ridiculous dog and Percy the Cranky Hedgehog.
This is a story about aberrant people, something like those mutants in X-Men series. The story starts with Gale, a 23-yr old aberrant, being hired as a biology instructor by the aberrant-only university. His ability is producing electricity, something that can kill people simply by his touching. Gale met Michael, an older (38-yr old) professor. Michael's ability is manipulating sounds. Very soon, they had feeling toward each other. Everything seemed going pretty well until an explosion was heard.
Pandora, the super aberrant who led the university, sent both Gale and Michael to England, to investigate the death of John, a former professor, a year before. They were accompanied by Kelly, a female aberrant whose ability is manipulating emotion. Even in the flight to England, they already had to face danger. All the time, Michael tried to consort and guide Gale.
I liked reading this book, but there's nothing new here. Gale is still developing and trying to control his electricity, which sometimes make him insecure of himself. Michael is balding, and cannot believe that Gale is falling for him. Kelly, being a master of emotion, is still shaken by the lost of John, her partner. They care for each other and keep asking, "Are you okay?", which make me wish the author give them telepathic ability like Pandora has.
Note that the blurb for the second book in the series is about Kelly, so it's gonna be M/F, not M/M book.
